Hey guys need help a buddy of mine just rooted his EVO then put ROM on it but accidently wiped Wimax now when he turns 4g on it won't even scan say 4g can't start he has no mac address either please help...

Unless he has a backup of wimax, he's out of luck. There's no way to fix it.

If he didn't make a backup before he started wiping in recovery his 4g is gone forever. Only way to get it back is to restore a previous backup that had your wimax keys

Which version? Older ones don't back up wimax. If it's an older one then he's out of luck.
It is recommended that you use Amon Ra as your recovery.

After i root my phone, i wipe everything to install a new rom and i wipe the wimax because it said in the new rom that wimax was included. After that i tried installing new wimax but still not work it tells me 4g antenna is on but it doesn't connect. Please help me out.
Download Wimax key checker from the market to see if you still have your keys

You should not wipe the wimax partition when flashing a ROM. A rom can support wimax but it can not include a copy of the wimax partition. The data contained there is unique for each phone and contains your wimax keys. If you want to get 4G working again you will have to restore a nandroid of your wimax partition.
Thank you guys for the help. Hey evo4gnoob i tried the app and it said (Sorry, your wimax rsa key is missing) what should i do. And m20120 how can i do a nandroid am new to this thing of rooting. is nandroid a restore of my stock rom?

what i recommend doing is to unroot your phone and try taking it to sprint and say your 4g stopped connecting or you could just forget about 4g. I have full 4g where i live but i dont use it because it kills your battery really fast and i have wifi at my house and have really good 3g speeds so there is no need for 4g.

Exactly...like the rom, set up, and what you were doing / what you did prior to when it started happening.
Been rooted for awhile it started I was running New Energy build. Tried wiping everything an flashed again dud same thing. So I flashed Warm two point three still wont install apps

Did you let it settle in? I have found that sometimes it may take a day to be settled. I have tried a lot of roms and have to say that digital karma v5 is amazing. Anyways good luck and hope that helps.

Try a different kernel. I always felt underworld made my phone laggy I recommend the stock kernel or lionfish kernel

If your phone can handle uv start with aggressive 1.8 with sbc. If you see reboot or it's to laggy go to more and so forth.

try flashing a custom SENSE kernel.. I'm not familiar with mikG at all but if you have lag it could be for a number of reasons, ie kernel, internal storage full, phone is out of memory ect... all I can say if you are new to this is go to the "General" section and at the top will be some threads stickied click the one called
"HIPKATS ULTIMATE GUIDE TO EVERYTHING EVO 4G"
That will teach you everything you need to know

this seems to cause a issue for my gs2 goes into a boot loop
ok, so i tried to flash a zip file, it said updating android then loading applications. it got stuck on a blank screen for a long time, 20 plus minutes. so, i thought i did a backup, i did not, so i did a reset and wiped everything. now its stuck on the boot animation screen. HTC evo v 4g, rooted, stock rom, ics 4.0.3. PLEASE HELP!!! I dont care what i have to do to it, i need my phone!!!!! Thank you!!!!

just tried that and still stuck on the boot animation. it did take it back to the stock one though.
