If you are asking about the basic number one approach to better performance. This is what I did. At the very basic level. With only root. I am rooted, unlocked bootloader, and overclocked to 1.2. But if you are just referring to root. I have all my apps from system/apps moved to my sdcard or deleted. I put as much of my stuff to sdcard. The exception. Is gameloft games. All my GL games are on my internel for the memory and the sd files are on the sdcard. For GL games this provides the best performance. I can go into more detail if you wish.

[Q] who plays hd games?

As the topic says who plays hd games? I.e. The gameloft ones? I mean a lot like for a good half hour. I have many apps installed, all apps that can be moved to sd have been moved. Problem is after a while the game starts lagging so much I cant pass the level of the game. I have ~35mb internal memory remaining

Try to free up some memory on phone, free some RAM like closing unused apps, and cool down phone.

Once I did that and faced no problems, but I'm not a gamer. Just played 9mm while I was bored back then.

Speed up games in ics

Hello. I unlocked my bootloader to use ics on my play, but games like cod nazi zombies and Nova 3 ect run super slow and choppy. Is there anyway to speed them up to full speed? Thanks.

Not possible. ICS will always lag on certain game titles till the point they are unplayable.
I think differently. When I removed some of AOKP stuff I didn't use, it gave me the extra space and speed. It somehow gained much needed ram. I guess some of the apps I removed ran in background more than I thought. The only problem I have is mupen64plus. It always closes on me. Still can't figure that one out.
R800x-unlocked/AOKP m6
use this !
you can run all the games as fast as you can

You should tell us what rom and kernel are you using. However, check my signature, it may give you some ideas.

You could try flashing a Neo L baseband, i haven't tried it myself but heard that people get better performance with it on ICS

The only game I'm aware of that doesn't work with ICS is Shadowgun, all other games should generally work on ICS, more so if you're using a custom ROM, I'm using Xperia Ultimate HD2, and it works pretty well, plenty of Ram available, just make sure you don't fill your phone with apps that use up your phones storage and runs in the background, try finding alternative apps that are smaller and don't run on the background constantly. If you have a CPU clocking app, make sure it's set to performance and you should be able to run anything.

Ah, no I haven't, I don't really like games on mobile devices, and I refuse to download a game that's 800mb, mainly because I only have an 8gb S.D card, if you check the reviews, people with our phone seem to be able to play it.

if you're much of a gamer, just install x-gamer rom. it's based on GB but tweaked

Moving games data to external Sd card.

I'm currently running rooted stock 4.1.2 on my Note 2, and have downloaded a few Gameloft games and I'm running out of internal memory.
I have a 64Gb sd card with 50Gb of free space.
Is there a way to move the big files (obb) to the external card, so the game can recognize it?
Thanks.

I feel ya dude! All those EA games are over 1GB.
Try madmack's app(folder mount). It moves/links any internal files to external sd.

Just bought the premium app... one question.. how the updates for the games work, do I have to unpin them or they just update like any other app on the internal memory?

yep, always good to support those hard working developers.
Pay attention to the pins. Green = access. If is gray no access.

my bro if u talk about performance, it's not depends on how big your storage but more than one aspect, i think you should root your devices first.
Then manage your ram with some tweak or ram manager apps :good:
hit thanks if this post helpfully for u
I am also use 64gb micro sd..
I am running a 32gig card, but that won't have any impact on performance though, try something called seeder from android market
