I got a private message from a fellow xda member that was responding to a "WTB" thread of mine. I responded via the XDA app on my Mytouch4g and once i did i went back into my inbox to find that the message i had just responded to was gone. I went into the "sent" inbox and the message i had sent back to him wasnt there either! I thought maybe my phone was just acting up but i just checked on my computer and the messages arent there. It really bums me out because i was very excited about the offer the XDA member had sent and was looking forward to making the deal official.
Any help?
Hello, received your PM. We had a hard database server crash which must have happened at just about the same time you received this PM. I've recovered the tables, you may see that message come back into your inbox. If not, try to track down the member via other means.

Well this sucks and is embarrassing. I was using a text message draft as a small log for expenses for work. It somehow began like this (stupidly thinking i would send the message later) and for over a month i entered my information in the draft, and when asked "do you want to save this draft" I of course said yes. Well,, tonight i said no. So.. after searching i am pretty sure there is no way to recover this after i indicated that i no longer wanted the message to be saved in the drafts folder.
Is there any good news??? This sucks..
Hi all, I am on t-mobile in the UK and I cant reply to text messages, just comes up failed.
Ive worked out its because it does not like the format 44-------- when a reply is received, I have to manually edit the reply number to replace the 44 with a 0 everytime I want to reply. Anyone else experienced this or no off a fix? All my contacts numbers start 0 not 44
still no luck with this - anyone else having similar problems?
Im on tmobile uk,
I have no problems replying to +44 numbers by text message.
Phone up customer services.

Thanks, are your contacts linked to Facebook?

I have this problem too, it comes up saying it failed and it is retrying, sometimes it just sends, but sometimes I will leave it, come back half an hour later and it still says failed.
Doesn't make a difference whether the number begins with 0 or 44, though.
I'm also on t-mobile and do find every so often a text doesn't send, I find that if I long press on the offending message and click re-send - I don't think I've had one that didn't send then.
I've asked t-mobile customer support, ill let you know what they say. Are any of you guys/girls rooted or all stock? Mines stock but unbounded, I wonder if this occurs with rooted phones as well

I've not rooted mine and it's a T-mobile branded one.
Well I decided to root it to see and that has fixed it

I am on Orange, by the way, so it is not T Mobile specific
Cant figure this out, hope there is a hotfix. The order of my SMS messages are all screwed up. The messages that are sent to me show a completely different time than mine. This makes it very hard to have a conversation. I can send a message say at 2:00, and girl sends me a message back it will say like 6:53 and push all other messages out of order. This happens when anyone messages me. Im completely up to date. Any ideas?

MORE INFO PLEASE
rom,kernel,prl, network?
might wanna move this to q&a
This belongs in a different thread.
Try updating profiles or give it time. Sometimes its a network issue.
Future reference this should be in q n a.
Are you using the stock messages app? I thought I read once on XDA that someone else had an issue like this, but when using a 3rd party app, it worked fine. Maybe try that, and if it's not that, it's probably something with your network atm.
I have this problem when I'm roaming but the hours are just off, minutes are the same. Like if someone sends me something at 12:34 my phone will say 4:34. I assume its just because I'm roaming though.
Over the New Years weekend I got a text from a friend saying something like "Hope everyone has a safe New Years!". From the message it was obvious that it was sent to more than one person. I just happened to be with another friend who also received the same text. He has a Droid 3 and in his Messaging app the Send button changes to Send to All or something of that nature. Is there a way to easily tell if a message has been sent to multiple recipients without looking at the message info? I feel like this would be a huge help considering that replying to those sends a text to everyone who got the initial message. Hope that was clear.
Long press the message and put view details

Right I get that. But sometimes a message can seem like it only was sent to you, but then after you reply you find out that it indeed was not. I was hoping for an obvious way to tell, like on the Droid 3 messaging app changing the send button to say send to all.

Unless I'm mistaken, that Send to All is a Motoblur specific feature. I don't think by default that SMS messages sent to multiple recipients automatically reply to all recipients. MMS messages might, but not SMS.
I may have to test it later. I'm fairly certain the replies go only to the sender, though.

I figured that was specific to Motoblur. I like that feature though. Makes it really simple knowing if you received a mass text. I was hoping to find an app or ROM that has this feature as well.
I hope this question is in the right place. I was composing a text and saved it as a draft. Later in the day I texted the intended recipient with another message prior to sending the draft by selecting a new composition from the main text menu rather than from the established thread. Later I went back to send the draft and it was gone. I've done this on the HTC Amaze before, the Amaze will hold the draft when you open the thread so to avoid sending it I always used the a fore mentioned method. So to make a short question long, is there any way to retrieve the draft?
Honestly i cant say but was it really a long text or something important in it ? Hope not ..
