I'm really considering buying the HTC one x but I wonder how the battery life is,
Is it like this or worse ? Or better perhaps?

Heavy usage lasted 9 hours till it dropped to 19%
Sent from my Samsung GNexus <3
Depends on what you're using the phone for. Mine lasts all day and I charge it over night. But I don't have the screen on the brightest setting, I have wifi on at home (and have it off at work), no bluetooth etc. If you play games on it, or listen to music all day then sure the battery will drain.
But if you want to have music playing at work then just dock it. Besides, this day and age it's rare that you're not in a room with access to a power supply for at least part of the day.
what's your screen time on that image? Just click on screen in the battery usage tab and post an image or share your results

And no I'm not talking about Juice Defender. I'm looking for something that'll allow me to see which apps are keeping the phone awake and use the most battery life. Something is making my battery drain and I'm not sure what it is. There are people on here going 18+ hours with 5 hours screen time and still having 10% left. I typically get 2 hours of screen time before I'm dead. Check out my stats from today. I hardly even used the phone at all!
I've set all of the apps I actually use to sync on 1 hour or longer intervals. Nothing is syncing in 5 minute intervals or something.

I'm on AT&T and generally have close to full coverage. I'm never really in an area where I have poor reception. I'm on Wifi a good amount too.
I had the same problem (Android OS using HEAPS of battery)

What have you done in that time? Just curious. Used cam? browsed net with wifi or 3g?
Trying to decide whether mine needs to go back or not basically.
How many charge cycles did it take to get to this stage?
When you first got the phone, did you just charge to full then use?

I want to know what you can do to get 4 and half hours screen time.
I mean, unless your just looking at the homescreen constantly there must be either WiFi usage or 3G going on. Unless of course, you were texting for three hours straight.

You can game & watch movies without 3g or WiFi.
As I'm on unlimited data, I think I will perform a test of constant H/3G streaming,
as on my SGS2, I could easily kill the battery with less than an hour screen on time. (less than 8hrs total use - streaming for only 4/5hrs was enough to kill it - screen off aswell)
... Screen on time isn't everything.
& as I stream a lot, it's a test I could easily do, & one I need to know the results of for myself.
Hopefully my HOX will outperform my ex-SGS2 in this particular battery test.
... Streaming over mobile data, truly does eat battery, but I hope it's a long test.

Half an hour on max brightness with screen set to never turn off only took 10% so you got a point there.
Screen time on is a good guide to actual usage though, if the screen is on then the phone is being used. So out of a 14 hour odd day on battery you only use it for a few hours seems a bit poor.
I'm envious of people who seem to get over 4 hrs real world "usage".
There is already a battery stats thread about the battery life.

What's your take on the One X versus the Galaxy Nexus since you have both?
some of us actually work for a living, and spending my time playing with my phone isn't what i get paid to do. some of us actually use the device for phone calls and texting for a large part of the day.
i have several desktops at home, a tablet w/ a keyboard dock...not really a need to surf on a 4.6 inch screen when i'm at home.
finally, this thread is about standby battery runtime.
i have also tested how much can i actively use my phone before it runs out of juice, and that is about 1d16h with 3h40 screen on. you've made me go offtopic.
for me, there should be only one thread about these things, where people actually post collected data about consumed voltages, wakelocks, idle drain. it proves the system+customizations+user installed apps is stable enough at one point in time. and OP has a lot of stuff on background sync. indeed impressive.

Day 2 from full charge to 6% I had 17 hrs 10 mins
Don't seem to have any rogue apps from battery monitors I've tried which makes sense as I've only downloaded about 10 apps.
Always have WiFi and GPS on which I always do on any phone, and have auto brightness off and set manually to just under half way.
I have dropbox set up to automatically upload camera pictures but under battery monitor this only uses 0.5% of battery use.
I also seem to have a faulty S Pen which sometimes seems too sensitive as it'll draw or open menus/apps with the pen about 1cm from the screen, and other times the pen doesn't recognise the air/hover mode and I have to press firmly to draw.
Any ideas?
Between this and the over sensitive S Pen, I'm beginning to think I just have a faulty phone!?
If it was as easy as taking it to a store I would, but I received it free with a 2 year contract from an online company in the UK called Affordable Mobiles who seem to have pretty good reviews. They've said if I want an exchange or them to have a look at it I'd have to send it back and wait 2-3 days which I can't do really as I don't have a spare phone - but at the same time I don't want to start rooting the phone and messing about with launchers if it is a fault.
Thanks

IMO, to get more than 1 day with WiFi & GPS constantly on is good. On my Note 2, I am usually left with around 30% of battery left at the end of the day but I never have GPS turned on unless I need it, only my WiFi is on.

Try resetting the phone and check it for another day without installing any third party apps if it gives the same result that it must be a faulty phone. Hope it helps.

You should judge your battery stats from your screen on time. Regular usage with sync and wifi and data enabled should get you between 5 and 8 hours, but it's possible to reach 10 and beyond with low brightness and no connectivity. If it's below 4, you can start thinking that something is wrong if you didn't do any crazy gps navigation or something, and start from there.

P/S it's my first Android. Still learning. Please correct if I'm wrong :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
So far on my third day I have 10% left with 1d 5h on battery and 5h 13m screen on time.

I get about 8-24 hours depending on usage and location, I'd average it at around 12-14 hours.
Using CM11.
This really depends on use...
If I'm playing games alot during the day, it's maybe ~ 8 hours... if I'm just using it as a device to check e-mail, chat with my wife, and view twitter... it's probably closer to 12-16 hours. Many days at work, I hit the end of the day with ~ 10-15% battery left and that's ~ 18 hours?

I should have grabbed a screen shot last night... had ~ 13-15 hours... had talked on the phone for over an hour, listened to music for close to 5 hours while working on cleaning the house... Plus periodic e-mails from two different accounts and other misc stuff... basically I was at ~ 17% when I plugged it in last night.
This is a very light usage day. Was at the auto show all day using my DSLR instead of this. But I'd say its still impressive. I'm using AOKP with allsparks cm kernel.

This is my battery status. Anyone here faced "Media Server" problem before? This problem annoyed me a long time. I have tried many solution / method, but no luck. :crying::crying::crying:
GPS is the ultimate killer.... I lose 14%-15% every 30min when using GPS, included LTE, Bluetooth and Screen, turned on.... Other than that its not bad for daily use.....
Since paying attention to my battery life because of this thread, I found that HD widgets was consuming an unreasonable amount of battery life (after turning off my GPS, this suddenly became my top application...)
Basically, in many cases I expect the screen to be the top talker - say 3-4 hours of screen on-time... I've been only getting just over 2 hours... which doesn't seem even close to what I'd expect... I want to say with .67 I was getting more than 3 hours of screen on time on a regular basis, and a few times around 4.
I need to wipe and start from scratch... but Sony's rumored releases and delayed releases for their software versions drive me nuts. I mean the latest 4.3 (101) hasn't officially dropped yet for the 6506, and 4.4 is rumored to hit sometime mid march... Not sure what to think or do...
Oh, and if you're having an issue with Mediaserver - that can be one of several things... could be a corrupt image, could be a flaky MP3... try wiping the cache for your media server and reboot and see if it straightens out AFTER it's cached everything...
