I'm from Indonesia and bought my GN several months ago. It was included with the XXKK6 radio (the default for Europe, right?).
Are there any SEAans there (or anyone with experience) using an alternative radio that's suitable for Indonesia? I tried the newest Europe baseband (XXLA2), but ended up having no reception.
Thanks in advance.

If XXKK6 worked then XXLA2 will work, just reboot to try and get signal.
If it came with an XX radio then what you should probably use is XX radios.
You can try other ones if you want to without doing any harm.
Maybe try this. I have seen it help others in similar situations...

Here is my situation:
I'm currently stationed in Europe, Poland to be specific. I use my Inc2 in GSM mode with a local carrier. After rooting and flashing CM7 for the first time, I noticed my reception getting significantly worse than before (And if not, it's pretty **** in the first place.)
I an attempt to remedy this, I flashed the newest .1111 radio from the Inc2 Development forums, unfortunately that not only didn't help - but resulted in a ~10db drop in my reception.
I figure that the "newest, bestest" radios (released by Verizon, correct?) are only there to improve reception within the United States, and a fellow like myself - looking to get the best possible reception within Europe - should start looking for an alternative.
I'm hoping somebody here will have had some experience with maximizing reception in Europe.

Custom Roms have different behaviors when it comes to GSM according to each Rom
try flashing another Rom , i suggest :
Andybones stock ( Based on the Latest OTA ) , it is not de-bloated , Note that latest OTA originally included the Radio you installed 1111
rmk sense ( the first release from Verizon ) and it is de-bloated
Both of the above Roms are Original Rooted firmware
do a super wipe before installing the Rom
choose GSM Only mode ( not the global mode )
if signal don't improve try
adding your carrier APN through APN settings manually
or you can Backup the APN's included in CM using APN Backup and restore from the market and restore them for one of the above roms , then use APN manager to activate your APN
Please note that this will override Verizon Global embedded GSM APN , Don't try this before trying the Roms with Verizon Global embedded GSM first and see the results
Hi there
I have recently flashed a stock 4.0.2 radio, but it seems like im having a lot of problems with it. How to know what radio version i had before i flashed it ? How to know what radio is best for my location ?
Sorry for spamming q&a but i really need this answer
Thanks folx in advance
I don't know how you'd specifically find the radio you did have if you haven't made a note of it. You can find the radio prefixes here, but there isn't one for Serbia.
If you look at this thread you'll find a list in post 2 of all the radios, there is no way to find out which one will specifically work better for you, there is no science to it, you'll just have to flash and test them out. Or find a friend with the same device that has a radio that works well in your area.
Hope this helps.

The stock yakju 4.0.1 radio was XXKK1
Can i flash 4.0.1 radio with 4.0.2 rom ?
You can but it won't be as good as with the 4.0.2 one

Yes... Radios are interchangeable. As one of the previous posters mentioned... Just flash radios until you find one that works best or YOU like...

Yup, this is the best way to do it.
hello, i just got my gsm GNex for tmobile today (ordered from expansys)
and i installed AOKP B29
i noticed that i'm dropping signals time to time because of the baseband XXKK1, i think.
if i'm correct, xx is for the Europe.
I live in east coast of USA with tmobile.
i've looked around, and i found i have couple choices for basebands in USA.
UGKK7
UGKL1
UGLA4
i might missing one or two more.
i was wondering which baseband would be the best choice for me in east coast of USA with tmobile network?
i'm very new to these, please help!!
yes XXKK1 is causing the drops. that radio doesnt function well with 4.0.2+ ROMs.
the BEST radio is to try them all and see what gives you the best performance.
start from the newest to the oldest
my suggestions are to start from: UGLC1, XXLA2, UGLA4
there are many threads of this....
check out the baseband thread in the general setion, theres lots of post there with what you are looking for.
thx for the reply guys.
one more question.
to install radios, i can just flash them in clockworkmod, correct ?

Yes. Or with fastboot.
I'm using a GNex for a while, but i'm still confused about radio basebands.
I live in Turkey, some ROM's like MiNCO there is a link for radio basebands. I don't know what I'm doing about it. I wanna update my baseband but i'm afraid bricking.
Any advice or help needed, thank you.
You can flash any GSM radio you want. Different radios work for different people.
Hey guys,
I'm currently in china and I need a chinese (China Mobile) baseband for my gnex (GSM). It should be region code ZC or ZS and for 4.1.2 JB. If someone could extract or point me to a link, it would be greatly appreciated. The CWM one, thanks!
P.S I checked the big stickyed "radio dumps" thread, but couldn't find any.
No such radios.
Is it because the gnex never made the market in china? What radio do you recommend using best? Thanks
No idea.
Try out the radios in the radio thread, see which one works for you.
Just wondering if any new china/hong kong gsm nexus users have any input on the basebands they use? and a questions about basebands itself, would any baseband technically work just that different baseband will yield different signal strengths?
