I've read somewhere that this is possible by running a script or something. I do not feel comfortable doing that so was wondering if there is an app or a flashable mod that will help me achieve this?
Thanks

You can install a custom rom that allows this.

Hello everyone, I searched through the forum and nothing about this came up.
I was wondering if there was any way to make the volume buttons take pictures in the default camera app for the desire. I ask this because touching the screen and using the trackpad to take pictures, for me anyway, causes movement of the phone and many many annoying blurry pictures >.<.
Thanks in advanced
For that youd need to root and remap all the buttons.. try the desire dev section.. alot of tutorials there

Hi all, I've done a number of searches and can't remember if I've made this up in my head. But do I remember correctly reading that HTC were planning an update to include and option to disable the 3 dot menu for non ICS optimised apps?
Thanks

I don't know if they are. I read that someone had looked into the latest update and had seen some coding suggesting that HTC are. If someone can let us know that'd be great as the button annoys me.

You can simply root your phone, get the CWM and get this fix from the developers here on XDA.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25063642&postcount=279
This will remove your 3dot menu bar and simply assign the menu when you long press home or recent apps button.
I was hoping to avoid root for a while unless an alternative to htc-dev was found.

I've read somewhere that an exploit has been found but so far no root method without unlocking your bootloader has been posted.

With an attitude like that you will not be on this forum long! @vin4yak simply tried to help you, he doesn't know you so he can't possibly know if you are stupid or not. The obvious has to be stated first as that usually solves the problem. I think an apology might be in order ?

I apologise to him
But still that was just way too obvious .. If itnwas a hidden menu or something fair enough... Untwiist your thongs mate and loosen up... I called him bro for a reason... What i said showed frustration that's all

Sorry people... Going through a rough time right now... Im so sorry to these two who replied and sorry to XDA comm in general... Please accept

See Vin ! This is what we talked about this morning
I haven't used pa so you will have to bear with me, does pa have pulldown quick settings ? You could add a tile for rotation there
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Go to settings_toolbars_quick settings panel_ tiles and layout then click (add) and choose from list ( orientation) .that should let you activate or radioactive rotation right from status bar.
I hope that helps )

Same issue here also. Extreme sensitivity which makes browsing and using the phone quite awkward.Things improved by unticking the 3 finger gestures in settings, but still pretty sensitive.

I see this kind of bug, because it is causing a lot of problems to work with phone.

Anyone knows why the HTC one m8 stock version the keys at the bottom dissappear in a lot of the apps like Internet and much more, I have use 3 roms alright currently on Insertcoin and they all have the keys permanently there taking more space of the screen is kind of annoying lol. Anyways anyone knows something about it.

I can't speak to the Internet app, as I use Chrome, and it doesn't do this. Are you talking about the immersive mode of fullscreen apps, like Google Play Books or YouTube? That's by design.
Although, I can't imagine the Internet app is supposed to do that... Sorry I can't offer much help. Maybe you could list some more apps that do it. What stock rom are you on? (Rogers, AT&T, etc)

I moved this to Q&A since it's a question. My attempt to answer your question:
I've noticed that some apps have built in menu functions and will turn off the keys. The custom ROMs probably have a toggle set that keeps the keys there not matter what. That's my guess without more info.
