Noticed a new share to option today - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I noticed Snapfish and Kodak in the share options of my pics gallery. Kinda creepy cause they don't show up in Manage Applications. I am using Juggernaut 5.0 ROM. Anybody know how I may have picked up this junk? Or how to remove it?

Not familiar with this rom but sounds like it is built into the camera app on that rom or another app. I had an option to share with NFC however my phone doesn't have NFC capability. Doesn't sound like something to worry about.

I dont think we really need those stuff. If you know well what you are downloading and from where you are downloading this stuff are useless.Beside they Consume battery alot.
I never used them on my 4 android devices lol

Thanks
I use Lookout a lot. It has saved me many times when I left my phone somewhere, and I had to find it. The web interface is great. You can locate it via GPS, make it scream, or even wipe it if you need to. It also does a daily back up of all your pics and calls. Not sure if we need the Anitvirus yet on our phones, but it's nice to have as a piece of mind. Especially when downloading all these third party apps from say XDA (not that members would try to give bad ones, but some links go to shady sites once in a while).
So look out is good? What about avg?

Avast beta FTW

Another really good security app is cerberus doesn't provide any type of virus protection be offers a wide array of lost or stolen options definitely worth a try.

2nd for avast. Don't care much for lookout and I wouldn't give me dead grandmother AVG.

I don't think lookout is necessary, although the locating feature is great..you can try cerberus or seekdroid if you want an app that locates your phone
I like my Roms the way I like my women..... Clean and smooth
I use avast. Use it on my desktop and it's way better than most other anti virus for PC. Avast doesn't seem to use much battery and is very light on my phone. Plus the anti theft feature is the best out there. Period.

All I have to say is Cerberus the best for rooted and non rooted users its like alarm force for my phone

What's wrong with AVG? Im still on the.fence on if I want to use any of it......

I use Lookout mainly for its backup and lost devices capabilities... as long as you are downloading from known sources you should have no need to scan files for viruses.
Quick question about these type of apps: do they automatically enable GPS if lost and you try to find the device?

No it does not enable GPS, but it still narrows it down to a couple feet using triangulation with the surrounding towers and/or wi-fi. I just did it for mine, and the map pinpoints it to inside my living room. Since it also has the ability to scream (actually screams a loud noise) there should be no issues finding it within a few feet while screaming. On that note even if the phone is set to silent Lookout will turn the volume all the way to 100% to scream making it very easy to locate.
My favorite combo is tmobile security (auto location off) with dropbox for backup purposes... less battery drain. (Wont find your phone if its off)

So the less obvious features.

I just have a couple of dumb questions.
Do the motions being active consume battery?
Do I have to engage anything before tapping my screen to send a file to another phone? (or is having that check box enabled1 enough?) also is the Galaxys3 the only phone compatible with that feature?
The commercial where the guy just swoops a document from his phone to the tv... What's the process for that and I imagine it only works with certain tvs after an annoying registration /setup process.
Are they working on improving svoice or is that not a huge priority
Is there a voice dialer like on froyo that doesn't require the internet to do phone functions? I don't like relying on 3g.
I'm sure I'll think of more, but I apologize if this is in the wrong thread. Please just let me know and I'll copy paste to the right one.

You have to turn on NFC and s beam then go to gallery or something to the file you want then put the phone back to back and then then phone will say touch screen to beam
You can get Google now with the offline pack. Its in the themed and app section
We don't really know what Samsung's priority are. With Google now out we can only hope Samsung trys to stepup their game

Best GNote 2 Review and UI set up I have seen

The UI this guy has set up is just freaking amazing. I hate to be that guy, but im going to copy the sh*t out of it haha! Its just so different and I doubt I will run into anyone with something similar. He also does give a really great review of the device

Thanks for this link, very informative!
Man, that's a great review. Nice find!

I love his work and did the exact same to my original note and even my s3. I eventually switched back to stock and the only reason was because most all third party apps I use don't have a landscape mode. So I'm constantly switching from portrait to landscape instead of staying in landscape which bugged me.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
I actually messaged him asking about portrait mode issues and he said it worked just fine in both and was going to put up a Q&A

http://www.youtube.com/user/coldfustion - Yup I'm no fan of TW (or most any stock grid icon UI really) & always replace the launcher etc immediately (I like the vast customizability of Go Launcher-effects settings & the app is free-what is their revenue model-some kind of future freemium revenue model?) & am a big fan of 3D elements & nice widgets as long as the system doesn't lag..
Many people apparently like or are at least OK with that super simple grid icon UI but it seems way too basic+dull to me. When I help people with their devices they often don't make any changes to stock UI except wallpaper-lockscreen photo so I doubt you will be running into many with something similar
Yeah I've been watching his stuff for a while. Just awesome work he does.

Gallery app doesn't work

Can someone test Gallery app on their device? It doesn't seem to work, and freezes my tablet. I have no issues with my tablet otherwise. I know I had trouble with the built in Gallery app on other tablets, and resorted to using a third party app, so I suspect this is an Android thing and doesn't mean anything is wrong with my tablet. But I would feel better if someone else could confirm the same (mis)behavior.
Thanks!

No problems with my Gallery app. But I may not have the same type and size of pictures you have on yours. I do have both photos and videos.
Works fine for me as well. Do you have a gazillion photos in Dropbox or someplace like that which it might be trying to synchronize?
Sent from my GT-N5110 using Tapatalk HD
No, I have only a few photos. I don't know why it won't work. Everything else seems to be fine.
Edit: I just tried it again, and now it's working just fine. I think you are right, it was having trouble synchronizing. Even though there aren't many pictures... must be enough to crash it while synching.
Thanks for checking it out!

Having same issue seems real clunky. I've done factory reset hoping it might help but still the same.
Other then that loving the Note 8

Ok! I thought I was alone! My tablet just started doing the same thing this morning. It is just the gallery. The rest of the tablet works great! Does anyone have any ideas of what to do to fix this?
Sent from my GT-N5110 using xda app-developers app
My issue went away without doing anything... But I installed Quickpic in the meantime since Ive had Gallery issues on other Android devices and found that Quickpic works better.
Sent from my GT-N5110 using xda app-developers app
Thanks for giving me hope! I will see how it works in a few days. How long did it take before the gallery begin to work normally?
Sent from my GT-N5110 using xda app-developers app
Thanks for tip installed quickpic and issue is gone.
Really fast. Either same day or next, I can't remember. Fast enough that maybe my issue was related to synching with Picasa. But on my other Android the Gallery app was always too slow, which is why I ended up installing and using an alternative app. Try a third party app don't wait for Gallery to fix itself. There are better alternative available on the Play store. My choice is called Quickpic.

Auto Watermark Application

Does anyone know of one that would work without me having to do it manually? I'd like to just snap a pic, and it would be automatically added.

Damn sorry brah no, BUT... if you do come across it definitely share the love if it doesn't get posted by someone on here.
