HTC Desire Wi-Fi Problem

Had a wi-fi problem on my htc desire for a while now..
One time I went to turn wi-fi on and it just said "Unable to start wi-fi". It had worked totally fine up until that point.
I've tried doing a factory reset, rooted, updated rom but it's still not working.
When the problem happened I had not rooted the phone or changed anything really.. it just happened.
In logcat it says:
flg=0x10200000 cmp=com.android.settings/.wifi.WifiSettings bnds=[124,404][236,531] }
D/SettingsWifiEnabler( 548): Received wifi state changed from Enabling to Unknown

I/WifiHW ( 79): wifi_load_driver end error 2
E/WifiService( 79): Failed to load Wi-Fi driver.
D/SettingsWifiEnabler( 548): Received wifi state changed from Enabling to Unknown
Anyone got any ideas on how to fix this?
Setting a static IP fixed it temporarily but now it doesn't work again.
I have the same problem, wait for a solution.
I also have the same problem
Can you post what rom and radio versions you are using?
Usually this happens because the driver cannot be loaded.
I use :
for radio : 32.43.00.32u_5.09.00.20
for kernel: 2.6.32.15-gf9c0527 [email protected] #1
build: 2.09.405.8 CL218634
soft: LeeDroid_v1.8
I also try: Pays Desire Froyo Sense v1.9
Had the same problem. Wi-Fi starts fine, but if switched off, was unable to start again with the "Unable to start Wi-Fi" error.
Tried flashing different stock roms/radios, updating to Froyo, all sorts, in the end, I sent it back to HTC, they repaired it and I had it back within 4 days.
I just installed
RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.09.405.8_Radio_32.43.00.32U_5.09.00.20_release_140022_signed.exe and the wifi problem seems to be solved
dunno, if it really helps. but I had the same problem with all custom roms which used to have wifi-n support. at first, I tried anything starting with wiping, reinstalling and using roms without wifi-n. none of it really helped. but then I changed one single setting on my wifi access point and everthing worked fine with ANY rom and ANY kind of wifi-bandwith.
just a guess, but at least you could try setting your wireless-channel from fixed (mine was fixed to 5) to automatic. there should be an option within your wireless-config on your router called "enable auto channel scan" or something like that...
unless your router is not a really old or crappy one, this could be a solution
edit: PS. I used tested almost every custom rom out of this forum. ALL roms with wifi-n support had the same issues. even newest radio didnt help much. maybe there is something about wifi-n which causes these issues
After two days using "RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.09.405.8_Radio_32.43.00. 32U_5.09.00.20_release_140022_signed" rom, my wifi continue to work like a charm.

ARC S will not connect to wifi (CyanoGenMod OR stock ROM)

Hi guys,
I've got a rooted ARC S currently running on a nightly version of CyanogenMod 10 that will not connect to wifi points.
I've gone through tons of threads and forums for a solution and none of them work.
The wifi points are detected with decent to very strong signal but when I try to connect it either sits on "connecting...", switches between "saved" and "obtaining IP address" or in the case of WPA protected networks; between "authenticating" and "connecting..." and "obtaining IP address".
Most of the time it ends up with "Avoided poor connection".
I only currently have access to public wifi networks so cannot modify the router settings, but I have tried creating a virtual hosted network (rebroadcasting a network through my pc)(see below).
Here's what I've tried:
-Factory reset, wiping cache and Dalvik cache multiple times
-Virtual hosted network
***I've tried rebroadcasting a public wifi through my pc and it connected, but at the time the network wasn't connected to the internet. When I managed to connect the network to the internet it would no longer connect to the network***
-Changing ROM
Problem started on CyanogenMod 9 (stable release), I've tried stock Sony ICS ROM (Doomlord version), stock Xperia Gingerbread and tried rebooting CyanogenMod 10.
***One time after flashing CyanogenMod 9 the wifi started working again for about 3 hours, but then failed and hasn't worked since***
-Deleting data/misc/dhcp file
I didn't actually have a file in the data/misc/ directory but I tried deleting the folder in case the file was hidden but nothing changed.
-Debugging with ADB
I've connected to ADB debugging while trying to connect to a working wifi point and these are some of the (hopefully relevant) messages I got on Logcat.

I know that's probably way too much information but I've tried everything I can think of. Any help would be awesome.
Hasn't anybody got any ideas?
I've continued experimenting with various methods and I've noticed neither of the networks I've used have IPv6 enabled.
Could that be the source of the problem?
Because I've also got a HP touchpad running CM and WebOS and neither OS can connect either. But my 4th gen Ipod can.

WiFi modules wouldn't let the user get that far, FYI. Go try using WiFi without installing modules
OP: Does the issue occur on all WiFi networks or just one specific?
Logcat shows, like DHCP is failing, which is the router function to hand out IPs to every device connected to it.

Some it can connect to, some it can't. The really annoying thing is that it has connected to my wifi network before. Twice.
Then it just stopped being able to connect to it.
Surely if the router was having problems my PC would have similar connecting issues? Which it doesn't.
When you say flash wifi modules do you mean you can get multiple modules for the same device?
I didn't realise you could change them.

[Q] VPN Problem with evervolv 2014-01-02 (Kitkat)

Hi,
currently I'm running the ev nightly-2014-01-02. Since several days I ty to activate a VPN connection into my home lan (connected with an AVM Router). It does NOT work. While the "internal" VPN Software does not tell me some interesting information a second try with VPNCilla shows:
--- cut here ---
Error on establish:
command '693 interface fwmark rule add tun0'
failed with '400 693 Failed to add fwmark rule (File exists)'
Possible reason: invalid server parameter or TUN device unavailable
---cut here ---
With this error message I find in google some information about a VPN problem in 4.4. BUT: my wife's brand new nexus 5 with Kitkat connects without trouble immediately with the same login data.
So what's the problem with ev here?
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Steill awaiting response
Really nobody here any ideas?

Wifi certificate auth problem on RR 5.8.0 custom rom (rooted & unlocked)

Hi
Company's wifi requires client certificate and TLS auth type to connect. On MIUI 8 and my old Galaxy Note 2 (both rooted) it all worked fine til I decided to unlock bootloader and install Resurrection Remix. Device is Mi Max Hydrogen 3Gb / 32Gb
Currently when I try to connect I see following in logcat of my phone (took screenshot so text has OCR errors)

Certificates are the same and get installed without any error, after installation files appear in /data/misc/keystore. Tried many attempts, different auth types, copying cert files manually, and so on and so on - this all didn't helped. Is there any workaround or where to look to resolve?
Our helpdesk said hey even can't see any auth attempt on their RADIUS server. This looks reasonable, in log it seems that process fails early, when openssl just tries to read key. Current keystore type is hardware-backed, maybe it fails because phone is unlocked? Is there any method to make it software-only?
I have the same problem (on several devices) . It seems this occurs on most (if not all) 7.1.x based ROMS (not only CM/Lineage based).
Reported that same network ok on LG G3 with RR 5.8.0. I guess it is some issue with hardware keystore. Thus device dependent. And I found no kernel tweak to store certs on file system
Finally I fixed it. Just created new WIFI connection using wpa_cli in command line (adb shell). Certificates could be placed anywhere in the system, and path to certificate files must be set in wpa_supplicant params using wpa_cli. Need to set read permission to these files (chmod) for all users, otherwise wpa_supplicant will not be able to read them. It is great that we have Linux under the green suite of our robot

May you please share detailed wpa_cli commands? I am facing the exact same problem (i think) with my OP2. As I am not into wpa_cli commands your help would be much appreciated.

First use add_network command. It will create a new blank network. You can spot it's ID by typing list_networks.
Then use set_network <ID> <param> <value> commands to configure it. I used an example from FreeBSD man page on wpa_supplicant config.
https://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi...opos=0&manpath=FreeBSD+11.0-RELEASE+and+Ports
network={
ssid="work"
scan_ssid=1
key_mgmt=WPA-EAP
pairwise=CCMP TKIP
group=CCMP TKIP
eap=TLS
identity="[email protected]"
ca_cert="/etc/cert/ca.pem"
client_cert="/etc/cert/user.pem"
private_key="/etc/cert/user.prv"
private_key_passwd="password"
}
It is well documented and params for set_network are the same as in config file. For keys I used only private_key= param and specified .p12 container and it's password. Finally use save_config.
Don't know why but after a few reboots network disappeared. Need to configure again.
