You can give CyanogenMod9 Music a try. It's pretty decent except with the current version 1.0 while the song is playing the app slows and stutter.
You might want to try to sign up for a VPN service and connect to an American server if that help.
Also with those CWM zip rom, you can open them up and extra the music.apk.

Thats not a reason... They could provide a full flashable pack with no mods... Any 1 "can get the apps for free" in the market anyways so whats the deal? Think about ALL the ppl outside usa that want a stock experiencie with custom rom features.. Thats it

I have clock widget on home screen so I don't need the one on status bar.
Any way to disable it ?
Customs roms have that ability.

Ok.. I'm on stock rom..
Guess I'll uninstall that widget .. xD
You not rooted buddy???
Or u just love stock rooted???
You can do this and a bunch of other stuff if you get a custom rom. I'm running AOKP and I love it, in addition to hiding the clock you can also change the battery icon, you get quick access to wifi/gps/data settings, you can configure your phone to shut off wifi/data when screen is turned off etc.
Give it a shot, it's easy as pie as the Nexus supports unlocking the bootloader, from there you can just use the Galaxy Nexus Toolkit (available here on the forum) to install CWM Recovery and all that good stuff.
AOKP FTW
I'm on stock (rooted). and I don't find any custom rom fit me atm.
I want a rom for everyday use (and I don't have time for testing roms)

Here the link to builds and Milestones.
MAKE SURE YOU DOWNLOAD GAPPS!!!!
AND BE SURE BACK UP YOUR STOCK ROM IN CWMR & ON THE COMPUTER!!!!!
If something goes wrong. Let me know I'll tell you what to do.
I'd recommend Milestone for minor bugs.
Get builds if you want features. Builds are not bad. It actually has linaro maybe. But linaro is still in a test state but stable.
Keep checking back for milestone 6. It should be due soon.

Can someone suggest me a good ROM for it's performance and stability (stock look if it's possible) and a good kernel for it? I'm not asking for "the best ROM", I would just like some suggestions from you.

You can use stock 4.2 ,just flash a custom kernel which is what actually allows the over clocking. Franco kernel is good. Then download a CPU control app from the play store.

I'm running CodenameAndroids 3.6 rom, and I haven't found one I like better yet. Tons of customization options. Love the navigation bar options and options to add and change swipe up shortcuts. I'm running Franco's kernel too, but haven't tried oc'ing. Not much of a gamer, so I don't feel the need.
What kind of franco's kernel? I mean experimental or stable? Any kind of oc?(cpu and gpu)
I'm running Milestone 6 stable. I'm pretty sure u can OC but to what IDK.
Now im using BuglessBeast and franco's stable kernel...i don't know if i'm crazy but some games are still laggy:-/ like Dungeon Hunter 3. What's the probleeem ?!?
I am in a similar position and didn't want to start another thread.
I am getting a used GNex tonight...
My start point is a Nexus S with CM10 nightlies and the Marmite kernel. Having Used CM7, CM9 and CM10 on 2 different devices, my temptation is to go for CM10 again. I am not a heavy user and don't play games on a phone, but the most important think to me is battery life (with smoothness a close second of course)..
Can someone please recommend me a battery saving kernel with CM10?
Or another good ROM / kernel combo?
TIA.
Sorry - I realise that I just killed a panda

Hello to everyone. I'm on XZX2, but i think that it is very slow, not laggy, but slow. I tried both of cm 9 and cm10, but never cm 10.1
My questions are:
1) What bugs are in CM10 and what bugs are in CM10.1? (Like HDMI, 1080p video recording, FM Radio..)
2) I can use nova kernel 1.6 with cm10, but Can I use its with CM 10.1?
3) I love cm10.1's camera app, what rom (FXP, Cyano, Opensemc...) do you suggest to me?
Thank you all.

1)FXP's CM10 have no bug in it's latest stable ROM ,OpenSEMC's CM10.1 have some problem with FM Radio.(but it doesn't matter
2)You can't use nova kernel on CM10.1
3)All 4.2 ROM's camera are the same(Slim, CM10.1 ,PAC).
If you want a ROM that very stable, try FXP's CM10
If you want a ROM that high customation, try PAC (19 based on CM10(4.1.x) ,20 or 21 based on CM10.1(4.2.x)
If you want a ROM that daily use, try Slim Rom or OpenSEMC's CM10.1

In general, the main bugs are related to network, sometimes it disconnects itself and have to disable and reenable data traffic. Moreover, 1080p and FM Radio is not working in most of cases, but in general, CM10-10.1 ROMs are very stable.

You don't need roms for that, you need kernels try Franco's kernel. Cynogen is the most stable and bug free ROM out there.

Get the latest version from here and be sure to select the correct device or you know..... Brick etc...
You can find many kernels on the development section of your device
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-nexus/development this is for maguro
You can use others but I prefer using Franco kernel as it is very easy to flash (you can download it's app from play store just type Franco kernels and download it. You can use auto flash option from it)
Remember these things are very tricky,it can make your device unusable if you install it incorrectly so..... Take care
And yeah nightlies are official so you better get them from their website as they are fully tested and it is less likely to go anything wrong with them

I know that people generally stick to Cyanogenmod due to it's stability, but I think it is overrated due to the fact that they support so many devices. I would prefer ROMs where the devs actually have the device, and focus on the device since they plan to have it for a while.
With that being said, here is my favorite ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-nexus/development/rom-omnimetal-linaro-omni-rom-t2550477
I haven't had any issues (like apps that force close) on it, and apps run fine. In fact, I have also switched to ART and it is pretty stable and blazingly fast. My test was its battery life, and it lasted me close to 7 days on standby with groove ip running on it (receiving calls, texts, etc.), and 2 days with active usage with a sim card.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for atleast reply and suggesting me some ROM which is i ever try.. but now i am little confused, for selecting ROM, I made my mind as per last reply ROM from CM11 Nightly and Kernel From Franco but now OMNI i need to learn about that too.
Can anyone have suggestion on that or give me little more light on ROM.
Thanks
Its good to have choices
If you are new to flashing ROMs, usually CM 11 is an excellent choice.
However, to me speed, low RAM consumption and good battery life matters, so here are the reasons why I chose that ROM:
1. Linaro toolchain - Here is a link to explain why it is faster than standard CM:
http://www.androidauthority.com/linaro-android-is-up-to-twice-as-fast-as-stock-android-92831/
2. Dirty_V kernel - For speed, most of us Nexus users feel it is the best. It is an improvement over Franco's kernel
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-nexus/development/kernel-dirtyv-t2613655
So, I usually choose a ROM which uses the linaro toolchain. I also got a ton of cool features like notifications, omniswitch, etc. which you can read about in the ROM link from my previous post.
In the end, I am just giving you suggestions. Why don't you try creating a nandroid backup and then flashing many ROMs to see which one you like? Using the nandroid backup, you could always come back to the tried and trusted CM 11 !
Here is a small intro to nandroid backups which may be useful even in the future in case you mess up your phone with a bad update:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/NANDroid
Hope this helps! :good:
I'm switch between 2 Roms.
Remix
Vanir
Bothe stable and fast.
CU
Litening
Thanks really ! I'll definatly read and try on of that, but first I'll take nandroid backup and learn how to restore etc.
CM11 is good but some time its response very lately specially when charging.

You might want to try omnirom (google for omnirom download, you want the maguro version).
They push daily updates (I install updates every 1-3 weeks). They closely track AOSP (meaning a new AOSP will be made available ASAP). It's a very stable rom and I'm running it my nexus 4 and a modified version on my Galaxy Nexus. It's been incredibly stable and reliable so far. Oh, and its 4.4.2
No try omnimetal! No try vanir! No try liquidsmooth! No try Xenonhd!. So you need to test everything. These threads are useless and not allowed. Choose one you like. Every rom is stable unless specified otherwise..

yes they are fast and stable, but i want best that i can get from that phone, especially when it comes to performance and how mutch apps i can install by my self, but so far as i saw there's none of that kind of roms available, there was some kind of a project of slim roms, but the developer removed them and now i can't find any of that kind of rom's available.
this was the project that i was talking about http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2068879
by the way the rom that you gave me the link is very unstable and haven't been tested fully and the rom project is being discontinued. ;(
Why not try some of the latest like:
CM7.2 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2646338
CM10.1 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2321283
Odexed version - (However this version of CM10.1: camcorder gives FC)
Both are very stable and fast.
Succes
