Thanks for this! Question: Does Gummy still have boot sounds enabled by default? I ask because last time I tried to install Gummy I was at work and had to pull battery before it could boot because of the loud boot sounds.
Lol you beat me to it Justin was just getting ready to post it for you guys. Thank you guys for your hard work this rom is awesome.

If you can't purchase gapps this is because the OP has the wrong Gapps link.
BTW, you shouldn't be flashing Gapps separatley as this alone causes a ton of issues.
For a first build, awesome...
Few things:
Had to root explore remove Music and Google+. They were unable to update.
The pull down menu doesnt say verizon (might be on purpose).
Thats it! Runs very well!
What did you use for Radio binaries when building this? the AOSP page doesn't seem to have any - http://code.google.com/android/nexus/drivers.html#toroiml74k.

I also have found that flashing Gapps causes a world of problems for my phone, including syncing issues, updating issues, purchasing issues, among others.
Can I flash just this ROM without flashing the Gapps package and still have a market place to download all my apps from?
Sorry for the seemingly noob question, but when I was flashing ROMs on my D1, I never had to deal with Gapps, mainly because I stuck with one particular ROM that did not have one.
I guess what I want to know is, if I don't flash the Gapps zip, can I still go to the market and download my apps, or better yet, restore with TiBu?

I'm fairly certain that the reason you need to flash gapps in the first place is because market is gone, however I could be wrong, my only source is that's how it was installing ICS on my Droid 3...

You are correct sir (or madam), market is missing, and try as I might to hack in the Vending.3.3.11.apk, I just can't seem to make it happen. Will nandroid restore, reflash using the Gapps package and see if I run into issues with it.
i'll be sure to try this out once i get my replacement Nexus from Asurion tomorrow. i always loved AOSP roms on my Thunderbolt.
How is this rom running?
And so the flashing begins! Just flashed the ROM with no issues and running great so far.
Hello 4.0.3
Thanks kejar!
Battery anyone?

It's not my own ROM. If you look, you can see that's it's Gummy's port for i9000 that I made for me yesterday...
Exactly, This is six's thread because he did the work to be able to compile it for the galaxy S series. So let him work on it...
Ok. I would just help user's issue (home button).
I remove my link and don't help again. Sorry.
This ROM looks very similar to AOKP - are there any significant differences between them?

Codename Android is a fully open source rom that focuses on speed, usability, and getting every feature that we can get CRAMMED in there .
Our mission is to spread the Open Source Android love to as many people as possible, and get as many people involved as possible. Along with the rom there will be tutorials to get more people involved and learning how to build android step by step.
We are pleased to announce the CodeName Android ROM Utility. All info about it can be found HERE as well as the download link. For now it will act as an app that will centralize all downloads for CodeName Android. There is one feature that needs to be added. The missing feature is the flashing of zips through recovery but we are working hard on this and should have it working soon.
You may use the app to download ROMs and all available add on packages or we have provided direct links below.

What Works:
3G
4G
WiFi
GPS
Camera
Youtube
External SD (mounted as emmc in rom see Known issues for install problems with apps)
MMS
Known Issues:
Market Apps error out on installing (SDCARD Issue): Work around is to plug the phone to your computer and mount USB Storage.
Lockscreen Wallpaper: It will work till you try and Crop the Image then give an error. There is no current work around for this (Also happens on AOKP)
Clock Widget: Leaves extra old characters when changing size/style for AM/PM (Status Bar Option). No work around this is a CODENAME issue Not a Port issue.
Video Camera: While it will Start to record once you stop the recording it will crash. (no known work around right now)

Install Instructions:
Installing for the first time:
- Make sure you're running a proper working CWM like the one from CM7
- Boot into Recovery
- Flash CODENAME zip
- Flash Gapps
- DO A DATA WIPE / FACTORY RESET (as sometimes your calendar sync will not work) DO NOT WIPE SYSTEM or the assert script will fail
- Reboot
- Don't restore Apps using Titanium Backup! (Some users have been able to do this. This is left here just as a warning however if it works for you cool me know)
Or
-Flash EL26 stock CWM kernel via ODIN/Mobile ODIN
-When phone begins reboot, Hold Power + Volume up until boots into recovery.
-Wipe data/factory, cache and dalvik cache
-Flash ROM
-Flash Gapps
-Reboot
(Please Note I do NOT use this method for installs. However it has worked for other users in the past so I am putting it here since it could cut down install time/upgrade time.)

Not everything is fixed there are still a few issues. Pretty much take CM9 issues and this has them also I think T.C.P is going to take the parts from my thread and put them into his so give him some time to get things up and running.
Regardless of the bugs this rom is AMAZING!! Thanks TCP!!

Video will record it will not playback just like in CM9. This is AOSP just like CM9 is most of the problems CM9 has this is going to have also for now.
Do i have to flash it like CM9 with the CM7 cwm? or can i just use rogue cwm?
before i flash i had a problem with aokp rom odim el26 cwm followed instructions never booted now do i have to be on a gingerbread rom or can i still be on ics

Thanks! Hopefully this will fix the deep sleep bug I found. Is there a quick link to where we can see the changelog before we flash the new ROM? :good:
this is a surprise!
edit:
btw, do i have to wipe?
If I do, can I just use titanium to restore apps/system data?
W00t! Downloading now. Hope to find the few bugs fixed. Can I install this gapps package over the beta 1 gapps?

As a rule.. never use TiBu to restore system data. It just creates un needed headaches. But user apps + data is usually fine. I've never had an issue just doing user apps + data. Never.
I'm sorry to bug you guys but could anyone possibly give me a good gapps package to work with this? I've had trouble with them before.

wow, they were there last night.
wonder what happened
Only thing I've noticed was when switching to landscape the navigation buttons are small. Can't say I mind though.
Edit: and would it be possible to get a blacked out gapps for this? Thanks.
I've been running his since yesterday and it's good. a few small bugs still, but much has been fixed since beta 1.
Can I do a dirty flash? Anyone do it yet? I would assume just wipe cache and dalvik cache and then flash this then the gapps.... I'm on v1 on my phone.

What is it you ask?
- This is a No Frills build compiled by myself from the latest AOSP 4.2.1 (JOP40D) for maguro with a lot of my own tweaks and other cherry-picks and features I like and use.

- Deodexed for your theming pleasure. There is even a Theme in the OTA(WIP)!
- Stock kernel (insecure, root adb. init.d support, stock clock speeds)
- Custom Launcher based on Launcher2/Trebuchet
- Extended power menu with Screenshot and Expanded Desktop
- Theme Chooser Support!
- Transparent notification pull down
- Volume overlay option
- Volume rocker wake
- Volume rocker music controls
- Customizeable Lockscreen targets in Settings> System tweaks

- CM10 Style Battery and Clock Mods in Settings> System tweaks> Status Bar
- Quick Settings mod by kevdliu - OP Here
- Customizeable NavBar
- OTA by JoeDV and flappjaxxx. OTA Source Here
- Developer Options enabled by default
- Busybox installed and symlinked properly
- Tons of Features in FJ-Mod Tools located in the Settings Menu - Full Source Here and Here
- One touch flash of your favorite recovery with choice of the latest and greatest CWM, CWM Touch or TWRP2!
- One touch to set your favorite DPI without having to use third party apps or manually edit your build.prop!
- Ability to one touch install Nova Launcher or Apex Launcher along side the default launcher.
- Lots of addons, apps, theme packs and more in the OTA section plus notifications of any updates.
- GApps included
- Be gentle, I know there are tons of other/better roms available. This is what I put together according to my own tastes. Now that I am the proud owner of a Galaxy Nexus, this is my daily driver and I figured I would share.
*This is NOT CM, AOKP or PA so please do not ask for CM10, AOKP or PA features. If CM10/AOKP/PA is really what you want then this is not the ROM for you. My goal is to bring everyone a clean, functional closer to Stock experience with my own touches added in*
