White Galaxy S2

My order just came in and here are some pics. Sent by Samsung Vibrant.
For all the other people that have received one, does anyone notice that their menu lights have an illuminating affect around it? It doesn't look as clean as the black ones because it just doesn't glow in on the menu icons but all around it.

Yes i notice that on my friends white sgs2..light leakage perhaps?? Or the fact that its white led simply reflecting off the white colored casing of the phone?

I just got my white one too, haven't seen anything wrong with it other than the buttons glowing thing but I'm going to try that test thing for the lines and blobs. I really hope I don't have it

No lines or blobs on mine. The white looks real good and gets a lot of attention. The back has a real nice gloss to it as well.

Looks awesome! Shame that they had to place the Samsung on the bottom, always looks so cramped for you T-Mobile Users.

Looks like it is. Its a nice change from the soft black cover. I can't wait to get the white parts now!
It'll definitely be a new phone for sure. Just hope the white LED screens don't have the lines/blobs the black ones do.

Recieved mine yesterday. Love the white color. The capacitive buttons on the bottom glow slightly because of the white. I dont mind it. Has 2.3.5 and today tmobile sent a request to update the software i believe its 2.3.6. There are no headphones with the white version... Check out tje unboxing..

Yeah, Tmobile stopped putting headsets at the beginning of the month. You would think that a $600 phone would come with one. I'm glad I bought mine on release because mine came with one and they are really nice.
I'm jealous now, I want the white version!

I can make out the lines on the screenshot of the phone keypad. Really hard to notice since the sticker is in the way and the brightness isn't low enough, but it's there.

Just got mine today I notice the screen isn't as crisp as it should be I owned the Droid charge and everything just popped on this it looks kinda wash like the motorola displays nothing like the charge. It is the same display isn't it? When the screen is off I can clearly see a foggy residue under the screen.

Wish they would have released the white version with the black version so I could have gotten that one instead. I love my SGS II regardless of it's color but the white version is a real attention-grabber.

Damn, that's pretty f'n sweet..!! Not like that bull**** Droid Razr with just white on the sides. FAIL!!

Trying to get mine through Tmobile retentions but apparently they are out of stock of the black and white with no estimate on new ones coming in... Sad.

Wish I had waited. I am guessing that the material of the device is not solid enough to stop the light from shinning through. I don't think its a problem, but if it is you can contact Customer Care and they might have some idea on whats going on. Dude, you have a White SGSII which almost everyone here is pissed about not having. Be happy!

In case you cannot tell it is a white screen with the original black back(I dont like the silver one) and a white battery cover.

I don't like the silver either, but that's too much black looks good tho

Just teasing...i actually did the same thing yesterday i rocked the all white for a while, but the two-tone is just too cool. I'm a ska-head too, so two-tone fits lol. Now if only i had a checkerboard battery cover....
Also, i asked my SRSS, and he confirmed that since it's a new SKU, the 60 day rule applies...and then proceeded to inform me that so long as we got the return box sealed on Sunday, auditors won't be able to see it on Monday lol.

are you asking where to get a screen, or how to replace the screen?
As far as where, you'll have to do some searching around. Sprint techs like us have the luxury of harvesting screens off returned phones (normally used for repairs)...but epic screens are generally so far and few between i doubt you'd find a tech willing to sell one to you.
If you're asking how, that's easy. Unscrew the six screws underneath the battery cover. Then using a really thin piece of plastic or even your fingernails, begin to pry the area where the bezel meets the glass down both sides and the top (the bezel-back-frame almost fits like a cap on the screen). Then just lift the bezel-frame from the screen in an out then down motion (basically, the top separates first, then you'll have to go down and out to get the bottom part off; you don't want to pry the bottom part straight out so as not to damage the charging port). During this, you'll likely see your headset jack move with the frame, that's ok because it moves pretty freely inside.
Once inside, you'll see two flat Phillips head screws, unscrew those. You won't need to unscrew the third tiny one in the upper right hand corner. There are several cables (3 or 4) that are plugged into ports, just unplug them, nothing fancy. Just make sure you look closely so you don't miss one. Then, the motherboard (which is roughly shaped like an "L" ) just lifts up. Reverse directions to put in a new screen. Easy squeezy lemon Japanesey.

also, the tech at my store is planning on getting the white E4GT, removing the gray, and painting it (he hasnt decided on red or blue). depending on how that goes, i may be doing the same. a nice candy apple red with some metal flake in place of the gray would be gorgeous IMO. i think the gray looks like cheap, crappy plastic

White phone owners does the chrome ring wear off by time???

Please some one let me know because at the moment i use it with the invisible shield its been like a week since i got my phone i was so happy with the phone but i see little scratches and the color fading in that silver chrome ring around it

had mine for a couple months now, and i have invisi shield on the front and back only. the chrome ring on mine has a few fades and scratches, but that's only from when i dropped it on the treadmill. i wouldn't worry too much about it.

use it on the official t989 car dock, it appears it is scratching it up :\

Mine has been in case since day one, and has lost its shine and is scratched up

guess its a common for the white version wonder if the black version have the same problem coz i can change the phone before two weeks Buyers remorse

Black has a gunmetal gloss while the white has a chrome frost

I wouldn't get rid of the white phone just because of that. Keep it dude. The white IMO looks way sexier then the black one. When you look at a black GS2 from far away it looks like a normal phone, some even think its a regular gs1 or gs1 4g. whereas when people see the white gs2 they actually ask what phone it is and it looks nice etc...
Also it looks really cool at night (the backlight leaks more in the white)
The shiny portions are determined to come off. you can't do nothing about it. Unless you get those rubber gel cases.

I'll see if the coating on the silver bar comes off and exposes a shiny silver instead.
Believe it or not my previous device had similar material in the battery door and that thing scratched like a cat was going at it. So I decided to scratch the coating off w my nails at work one day took me an hour or two but bam it revealed a shiny back door that doubled as a mirror!

Unboxing Red Galaxy SIII very nice after reviewing it

After testing the Red Galaxy SIII all day, I might just pick one up for myself. I am really liking the color Red, very bright, but it does attract finger prints. So if your thinking of getting the Red SIII and want to look at it before heading out to the store, you can view the video and hope it helps.

i got mine on Friday. I was hoping it would be more 'red'. It's more of a 'wine' color. I was hoping for more of a fire engine red, closer to how the pictures looked online.

Not going to lie, I'm really digging the red model. It's more of a burgundy or brownish. Sorta the same kind of "red/brown" I've been seeing in cars lately.
I would consider swapping out my Blue phone for this but it seems too big of a hassle for just a color change (no specs actually change). Actually I would be interested in just getting a red backcover and switching it out on my blue

it's really beautiful. Personally, I like phones being different colors. Why have them black? We aren't ashamed of them?

YUP i took it back sunday morning and swapped out. $35 restocking fee but i got 611 to give me $100 credit to my acct before i traded it in so its all good. the Red one comes with the OTA Update right out the box. but it love it.

You could turn off the light by going to Settings> Touch key light duration and select Always off.

I haveeen debating trading my Pebble Blue in for a red, but I figure I always have a case on it, and red lights for the touch lights really isn't worththe $35 restocking fee for me.

I actually wish I waited for the red one. I had a red/burgandy Samsung Blackjack 2 and loved the color and it was pretty good for texting. Pictures online made it look too red, but now that I see photo's in natural light, it looks great.

Which Xperia M Colour did You Buy?

I bought the black. I really liked it. I did notice when holding a white smartphone though, that by comparisson, the black is...very dark. It seems obvious but brighter colours really are easier on the eyes.
My black Xperia M is faulty and I'm getting a replacement. I have the chance to choose another colour if I wish. :fingers-crossed:

My thoughts:
Black: Sleek, traditional Sony, only a problem if you prefer bright colours (black UI and black case and front)
Yellow: I'm afraid that the shade of yellow might not be so nice. But I like that it's different.
Purple: It matches the black well, but I'm afraid that the colour might be too popular with girls...
White: Looks awesome...one big problem - the LED at the bottom front of the phone looks hard to see in daylight. This is not a problem with the black front.
Are the coloured versions too popular with girls? Is that a silly idea? I know that it will attract too much attention from other people, yet, it's a cultural thing, some cultures won't have this problem.

I got a black and purple in the box figure you get white or yellow with the other option I like the purple it's dark enough and with a clear gel case I've dropped this phone several times On to the footpath for €6 its saved my 150 investment over and over just my two cents this topic should really be in accessorys I think but no hassle

Well I asked Sony if you can buy other covers and they said no. You get the colour of the phone you buy and that's it. So that's why I didn't choose accessories. Ha I'll be moving to Van in a few weeks. I was just scouting the carriers/networks and I see black/white seems to dominate on Bell/Rogers. Would a guy stick out like a nail with a purple phone?

I bought WHITE one & it's so beautiful...
But I think can buy back pot with any color!

Purple - Phone was for my mother and she wanted purple.
Now has a purple semi clear gel cover and it still looks good.
My own phones are all black..a man thing, but I could swing with purple now I've seen it.

That's not the phone, as you can unlock the bootloader.
It's just the phone company that's placed some restriction on your phone if it can not be unlocked.
I don't have my phone unlocked, but I do have full root access.
This provides all the features I require at this time.. and if Sony releases Android 4.3 I'm still able to OTA upgrade.
The only limiting factors I see of the XPERIA M is 2GB user storage and an also ran 5MP camera.
Oh and the fact, I've not found any original back covers available for purchase for the Sony XPERIA M... yet.
They do include the NFC panel and buttons.. anyway all things can be found in China for those who wait. :fingers-crossed:

I know its the phone carrier that placed the restriction. I meant that i regret buying the xperia m in general.

Yes I chose white in the poll, I think it looks stunning in white, but I did see in videos on Youtube that the LED is hard to see. That's a shame. I really find the LED useful for notifactions so decided not to get it.
I bought black.
I think white looks best.
I just asked for my replacement phone to be yellow or purple.
