Ok guys im on android 2.1.1 DI18. I was wondering If i can flash these roms and kernels to my phone? Like are they compatible with my DI18?
I'm interested in this Rom & Kernel...
ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=864445
and
Rodderik's 1.2GHz Overclocked Kernel (Thats what the Rom says to use!)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
And
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=976194
and
Kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11763114
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I just want to know if those above kernel and roms would work together? The kernels are recommended for the roms!
Thank You!
Could Someone help me! Im a noob at this. This will be my first time! Please Help!
Simply put, no. You need to have the dk28 modem for your first option and the eb13 modem for your second option. So you will have to either upgrade to the leaked dk28 or "official" eb13 to do one or the other first. Just search the site here, im on my phone so i cant link them for you.

You can't.use an android 2.2 kernel and rom on eclair. You have to stay on the same build. Why don't you use Odin to upgrade to eb13 then you can have that rom. And personally o wouldn't use that kernel with that rom. That rom has its own kernel

Use the optimized stock kernel that comes with CM 10.1 or try them all until you find one you like.
Most kernels work very well with CM 10.1
Try AK kernel, it's very stable and fast and always updated to the latest. You can flash it in recovery.

I think Fancy kernel is better.
I use Franco Kernel and I'm satisfied with it

MIUI Android
Note: There are two MIUI builds available for our Gnex
1) Official MIUI builds &
2) Official MIUI-Android (serving International Unofficial MIUI ROM Support since 2010).
Both are updated regularly on Fridays, There is not much difference in two builds.
Official Downloads:
Official MIUI Builds
Here
Official MIUI-Android builds:
ROM:3.11.29
Gapps:4.2.2-only 11mb
Instructions:
1) Put ROM and GAPPS on internal SD.
2) Reboot into recovery(CWM or TWRP or Phillz)
3)wipe data/cache
4)wipe dalvik cache
5)format/system
6)install ROM
7) reboot system it is must,Do NOT flash ROM and GAPPS back to back! It will cause Home button not working..!
(Also If you are gonna use Mpokang 1080p kernel then flash the zip just after this step i.e.after flashing ROM without rebooting)
8)Again reboot into recovery
9)Flash gapps
10)Reboot system
11)flash custom kernel(Do not stay on stock MIUI kernel its buggy)
Supported Kernels:
1. Mpokang Kernel only v10 1080p variant is compatible with MIUI.
2. Trinity Kernel use the version for 4.2.2 and your desired config.
3. Try this one also Fancy MIUI,thanks Fast-droid for suggestion.
I recommend you to use Mpokang because it can be configured through Trickster MOD App and also it is battery friendly and stable.
More to come soon

How's the battery life? Much drains?
Thanks!
So far no problems what so ever.
Battery life is way better and antutu score 10500 vs 11500 [purity/franco].
Can you change the lockscreen shortcuts in miui? Can't find it. :good:

on which kernel you are??
the lags are mostly because of kernels

As per MIUI Android community,
there will be no daily or weekly update in this week as there in China they are having national holiday,
the weekly update will resume from 11th October....
till that the last 3.9.27 is stable enough for daily use.

Hey... I installed a custom rom which required installing custom kernel. It all went as expected but the OS doesn't start... It kept on showing the welcome screen and then system hangs. Kindly Provide me with the custom kernel for my Galaxy s2 - T989
I tried installing a different rom but same issue again. Kindly help
Anyone
Anyone?
XDA sr member Rushing came up with the most stable rom for this phone I have ever used called Shadow ROM v 1.5 you can search the forums here for more info, there's even a YouTube video from Galaxys2root that features it. It is a super light weight rom that has long battery life and tweaks to the stock kernel. its incredibly stable as it's based off the stock T Mobile rom, but it's deoxed and debloated. Currently only runs version 4.1.2 but would highly recommended this rom. 666 is the evil version, 1000 is the clean version that keeps all the stock boot animations and sounds

I've tried several 4.4 ROMs with Franco's latest kernel (r394 I believe) and they will not boot. I can run Dirty V and Tiny with no issues. Is this just me?
Latest is r395 and works properly.
In other news, official r394 won't boot on 4.4.x ROMs, but @osm0sis 's modified version will.
Sent from Google Nexus 4 @ CM11
Yeah r395 is the latest and greatest, and works fine, just choose wisely: http://franciscofranco.minooch.com/GalaxyNexus/
Thanks guys. That makes sense. I have the paid version of the app and r395 is there now.
