I was trying to flash a custom ROM to my my htc DHD, changing the phone's ROM from Android Revolution HD 7.0.4 to a Miui ROM. During the process the mobile went to a complete black screen with nothing else happening, I opened the bootloader and the same thing happens when I try to boot to Recovery, but it still goes in fastboot when I connect the phone to the laptop, so I thought that I've mistakenly deleted the Recovery files from the phone, I tried to push the files using adb but it always said that the device is not found, after several tries I decided to pay a visit to htc customer service where they told me that the phone's board was harmed during the process, having bad history with htc customer service with 2 previous visits both went horribly wrong and they didn't even have the phone checked, only tried to boot it and then jumped to the conclusion, I've had to ask you people for help !!
Here is how I tried to flash the ROM to the already rooted mobile:
I some how thought about using the following method to change the recovery from EXT4 to ClockworkMOD .. I don't know what I was thinking or how high I was at that moment but it really happened using the Advanced Ace Hack Kit
Then the mobile has gone black and story I told before happened, my question now is, can this process or any software development process harm the phone's board by any means ?! and could this problem I'm facing be really with the phones board ?!
No, just head back to the hack kit forum there is a link there for IRC chat help from the guys there. You may have just corrupted your bootloader image. Those working in customer service can't tell you which end is their brain and which end is their rear
Sent from my Desire HD using xda premium
I've tried to contact them with the problem when it first happened but they refused to help me telling that I've used the kit for what it's not meant for .. they were kind of arrogant but .. they've got a point !
You will need to install the stock ATT gingerbread ROM using your PC: http://dl4.htc.com/RUU_Ace_Gingerbre...368_signed.exe You will then have to re-root using the Hack Kit.

Link ain't working, plus how would i install in via pc if the adb can't see the device loaded to the computer ?!
hmm .. i got it .. it's all solved now .. thanks a lot man

No problem just remember read search and learn before you try anything on your phone, we all had to do it. Also stick with ext4 for rom flashing its what we all use. I dont even bother with rom manager anymore.
Welcome to XDA and enjoy the learning.

google the "RUU Ace Gingerbread S Cingular US 2.47.502.7 Radio 12.56.60.25 26.10.04.03 M release 200368 signed" then swich on the mobile and let load to the black screen that used to pop up to me, attach the mobile to the laptop and launch the stock ROM .. it'll do everything and leave the mobile with the stock unrooted ROM, then reroot the device with the aahk.

Hey guys .. i was wondering if anybody has a solution or is going through the same situation as with me , problem is that when i run Rom manager its says Superuser not found and blah i downloaded the superuser exactly where it tells me to do so but again the same error :/
And another major problem is when i click on anything in rom manager its starts downloading latest CWM and when the download finishes following error appears ' an error occurred while attempting to run privilaged commands ' god its too frustrating for me :/
I'll be really grateful if any ANGEL tells the solution

Does Superuser.apk report any issues with your SU binary? The complaints from ROM Manager make it sound as though your system isn't properly rooted.

Wish I did, I've yet to get my hands on one of these new Frankenstein devices that HTC has released recently. I don't know what it is that they changed but, it hasn't been kind to the users who own them. Sadly until it's all sorted you're probably stuck with stock software. I know some of the other users I've spoken with have gotten the new HTC bootloader and unlocked that and managed to get some custom and rooted roms onto the device but, this isn't a easy task. This thread contains one of the current solutions for getting around the display issue to flash a custom ROM.

dude i am literally saying that you are the one i have been looking for simply you're awesome
Hi Guys,
I managed to hard-brick my phone somehow. I sent it back to HTC already, but I just don't want to do it again. Can anyone figure out what did I do wrong?
Here is the story:
1, I've rooted the phone. I tried with the one-click root first, it did not work, but the other method involving unlocking the bootloader through htcdev.com and flashing CWM (endeavoru) and SuperSU worked.
2, I wanted to install my cmdsp update, which worked already in several devices (Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 7, Galaxy S III). I flashed the exact version which was in the thread (that one is created from the Galaxy Nexus CM9 distro (maguro)).
3, The device booted, but then got frozen on the UI. I hesitated what to do next.
4, I thought that maguro is not binary compatible with my device, so I downloaded CM10 from this thread, extracted the necessary files and created an update.zip for this device, then flashed it.
5, It got flashed nicely, but then the phone did not boot anymore.
It had 100% battery before, but long-pressing power button did not do anything. No way to get into hboot mode, and the device is not recognized as an USB device if plugged into a mac (sorry, no windows at home). The led does not even light up if I plug it to the charger.
So, the question is: what did I do so wrong that it got hard-bricked. I might get another device from HTC, I might need to pay for that, I don't know, but I do not want to repeat this mistake.

This is an update.zip, I flashed it to many other ARM-based device with no problem (ICS, JB).
Because you don't read and experiment, that's why.

Don't read what? The doc of the update.zip that I made myself? This update.zip installs some libs into the /system partition. What can go wrong about it?
You got the SAME responses on the SAME thread you started in the at&t, rogers, telestra One XL forum. Tho your story didnt add up over there. Looks like u just need to come to terms with it amigo:beer:

Almost every Android has an ARM architecture CPU, doesn't mean you can flash whatever you want onto every phone.

Because you overwrote your hboot when flashing the device?
Try running the JB Firmware Flasher.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Actually I'm very interrested in what you flashed exactly?
With a S-ON device it should not be possible to flash anything that will hard-brick your device. So maybe you could post it for me?
EDIT: The ZIP you are linking to in your other thread could never have hard-bricked your phone. On a S-ON device it is impossible to flash onto a protected partition. So something else must have happened!
It is indeed possible to hard rbick an son device only by simply flashing a rom and boot.img meant for your device.
Recently it happened in the one x community when an (anonymous) developer released a rom and several people got bricked because of it.

There is no boot.img in the ZIP he links to, only libraries and an APK file. I highly doubt that could hard-brick a S-ON device, but who knows.

I think they will reflash stock ROM without even looking at what you have installed. I had CM installed when I sent my bricked phone, I thought they won't repair it because warranty was void, but they didn't look, just replaced the chipset and flashed stock ROM.

oh then your warranty void now because you have cm10 installed so they ll know you rooted phone.where i live, htc service center valid warranty wheather my bootloader is locked, unlocked because they said sometimes when we replaced pcb, sometimes some pcb comes from different countries so they are factory locked or unlocked.but your stock rom and recovery is madatory.once i have same problem like you and i tried many times to unroot and getting back my stock rom but accidently i bricked my phone but i have stock rom and recovery so their replaced my pcb.
anyways now you ll probably get new pcb so stock rom is in it,but if you ll get your back with cm10 tell me i ll upload stock rom(flashable zip from cwm recovery).
I knew, that i wouldn't hide it from them but install of stock Rom would be some kind of proof, that this problem isn't software related and make sure they won't dismiss me.

yeah but as per warranty statement, when you root your device, your device warranty will be void.no matter its software related or hardware related.but see its depends on customer executives if they are good they ll repaired your phone.

dude that guy wants stock rom so i ll give him stock rom.this is his matter not mine.and second thing you have got good piece of wildfire s so you wont have any problem.some people got problems like touch screen, sensors and battery overheating and all so to gain warranty at service center your phone's software and bootloader should be at factory state.if i installed cm10 and go to service center for repair they wont touch phone because its rooted.so who will pay for that? probably not you.and upto installing rom in device its upto depend on owners.i changed my pcb about 6 times so don't tell me about roms.(no offence)
and also i didnt say anythng about what you want and all.my replies only for guy who want stock rom.

hey
long story short, i bricked my nitro hd by mistake while going back to stock (typo error in dd command) and i need some files from a working phone to attempt a last attempt to save it before i send it to Jtagging service.
there is a small program in this thread that will collect all the bootloaders i need (it needs root access)
if you're in windows you should run backup.bat from Brixfix-2-1.zip.
if you're in linux then you should run get-part.sh and getpartbin.py
thanks in advance

its black screen , and i was getting hsusb_qdload when connecting it to the computer (code 9008) , then i tried a chines program that flashes files to the emmc .. all i had was the su640 files (they were included in the same chines thread , p930 was mentioned there) ..
after the flash , its still black screen but now windows installs new drivers (code 9025) - check the attached photo.
as far as my understanding goes this is sd mode.. the flashing software is still able to see the cellphone, so i want to try to flash the original files this time and see what happens before i spend 80$ on jtagging

Hey guys... My friend bought an HTC One X second hand. It is rooted with what seems to be stock 4.0.3 Sense 4.0. The phone is also S-OFF and everything.. I will post pictures of it.
So here's the deal:
My friend was watching a movie but suddenly he felt as if the screen wasn't rotating... Now (According to AndroSensor App) the magnetic field, orientation, gyroscope, accelerometer etc... In short.. All of the GRAVITY SENSORS and the orientation sensors aren't working.. They are DETECTED by the app but say "Waiting for event"
tried hard resetting and everything. I have put many Custom ROMs in phones before. So i can flash ROMs etc if i have to
I have attached the pictures about everything and need help.. Alot appreciated thanks.

Go to settings and check for an update. What we all recommend is that you send it to HTC, all untampered One Xs should still be in warranty, so send it to them, if it can't be fixed they'll send you a One X or a One X+, or sometimes they could send a HTC One if you're lucky :/

OTA need relocked or locked device , stock recovery and stock ROM
and if you still have a problem with your g-sensor , check my signature , there is an alternative way to fix it

Oh i'll get right on it when i get my hands on the device can i request you to stay put to this thread? Cuz i will report back here
if you flash a custom recovery you can do anything you want, ie flash a rom, sense or no sense, or flash back to stock and because you are s-off you can even change your cid to install an update from a different region.
this can go on and on and people are starting to repeat themselves and you have had all the information you need to move forward. so what you need to do, as you say you cannot fix under warranty, is :- let the phone update via ota, this will update everything including the rom, the version of sense and the hboot. then once it is finished with all ota's available you can install a custom recovery( I recommend philz touch recovery or the latest twrp) and then you can flash all the rom's or mods you like.
and if you find you still have a problem with sensors check @HTC Venom signature for a possible solution

Try to do the hard reset after couple of days. Once you feel your device is warm enough. Chances to get them back gets better with time

i got them back except for temperature sensor....althought i did this thing several times, but once it worked out...i restarted the phone by long pressing the power button, even after the TURN OFF menu appears...on the start screen pressed volume down button to go in safe mode, all sensors started working, then i restarted mobile to come in normal mode.
working fine uptil now, i dont have restarted or powered off after that. so dont know if they will keep working after restart or again same problem will occur
all the people having same problem, just keep on trying restarts, safe mode, factory reset etc etc most probably they will start working. its just hit and trial
