Might be screen grounding issues.

Yes, sometimes it does.

Same here, every time i plug the charger in
Thanks, how long you had them for? Just trying to decide if this is a separate issue from the constant screen flicker, or if its just a sign that eventually its gonna flicker all the time again

Maybe it's a voltage regulator that's the problem for the flickering screens?
There was somebody who said HTC had confirmed that to chitter chatter (not sure if that's the correct company name) that it was faulty voltage regulators, although the HTC support just says to get it replaced without further info apart from 'we are investigating'

Personally I think even if it flickers when plugged in there's a hardware fault, ie my dhd never flickers when I plug it in...

i think ill keep mine guys at least i have non of all this flicker non sense and a perfectly white screen
the slight softness on the left side of the screen, which comes and goes! im trying to investigate, is the only thing "bugging" me, im used to rock solid metal HTC phones not a toy...sigh
Can someone test this for me, when it is sunny or quite light outside. Take your phone off and turn the screen off. Then point it at an angle so the light is reflecting off it.
Do you notice blue and black lines running across the screen? They can also be seen with low brightness when the screen is on.
It has to be outside under natural light to see this.
I got a replacement One X today and it has those where as my previous one did not. My friend doesn't have these lines but i know someone from a different forum that does.
Is it normal?
Does no one else have this?
Just walkoutside when it is sunny with the brightness at 0-15%. Then turn the screen off and hold it at an angle. You should see the lines across the screen. Then turn the screen on so you're at the lockscreen and you should still be able to see them.
That is meant to be there, I think it is something to do with the touch screen.. but I know it is essential for your phone

Hi I'm also facing the same problem can u please help he what to do?
It doesn't sound like problem; stop worrying about it.
it's the touch recognition grid
digitizer if im not mistaken
Out of the box my screen was loose on the left side. I pushed it in and now it's not clicking when I push it in. Exept from when the phone gets warm its a little clicking sound and the screen is flexible right under the charging outtake left side.
Is it possible that the screen will totally get loose again later? It's now 2 days old. Ht24.
Any way you fix it when the phone is warm?

I would contact whomever you bought it from. Sounds like you got a faulty device that isn't what you payed for.

known defect, don't bother nothing will fix it, the lamination is defected, ask to exchange and a newer batch, anything above HT24A
I have HT23 with no issues.

This is my 12th one. No other issues with it. It's actually a little loose even when phone is not warm. Very small tick sound when pressed down.
Really annoying. Don't know if I should bother getting another one.

he is asking about a specific thing, you saying HT23 has no issues means nothing first you only told us which month and not which day about your batch the day comes after HT23
second its completely unrelated to the OP's question!

WOW you have gone through 12 handsets.. HTC should be shamed.. This must be costing them a fortune in replacements.. They are probably doubling production just to keep up with the duds!
Personally I would take it back. .As a poster said above it isn't what you paid for..
Yes. Thanks for your opinions. I will return it. And wait for s3 or a newer batch. I'm pretty tired of returning and ordering new ones.

look if you place a case over it then you will hardly notice it. i am going through the same thing as you..3rd handset i am on now. problem my carrier will only repair it so my last hope is HTC if to replace it or not..if they say to me they will repair it then i can wait till it is completely messed up ie the screen comes entirely loose and then return it..for now the case over the phone will do the job for me as it is not that big issue at the mo...
so for you like hamdir said return it and you probs get a new batch and will be better..
Are anybody here got any experiences of the new HOX batches xx27. I have a xx24 with wifi and screen ripple issues but I getting a xx27 tomorrow.
Are there any issues with the newer batches or have all the problems been ironed out?
I've seen some threads with problems on the xx26 but not much mentioned about the xx27models, I suppose because they are new
Thanks
Nik

Hello mate I've been waiting for the sh/ht 27 batch to be released due to the wifi issue fix , where r u getting ur xx27 one x from?
I'm getting mine from the the Carphone Warehouse in Bootle. I just hope the manufacturing defects are sorted out, and as that's the reason I got rid off my galaxy s3.

But how do you know they have sh27/ht27 in stock? did you email them?
got a Q...
my phone is SH24 and got screen problems (when pressing the screen a white smudge appears )
will HTC switch the phone to a brand new xx27 batch?
My friend works for cpw. I have picked up the sh27 today the wifi is miles better than on my last one... However there is still screen ripples up and down the left and right side of the screen. I suppose I'll have to live with it though

The screen ripples just with normal pressure or with extra pressure applied? damn you htc :crying:
Screen ripples is common on most LCD screens. Press tour laptop screen and it'll happen and such. It's barely noticeable and only noticeable if you look for it.
Let the glue settle it'll get better.

It does require extra pressure but not an extra ordinary amount. With regards to all lcd panels having this effect my HTC sensation didn't do this neither does my Motorola xoom hmmmmmm...

It depends on the LCD technology whether you it ripples under compression, some panel types do not ripple when pressed but are lacking in other respects.
The Gorilla glass should be enough to stop ripple under normal use but the glass does flex so if you push hard the LCD can ripple.

Phil
Ok this sh27 seems to have a vibro hardware issue, clicks every time haptic is used.
I was hoping all off the bugs would have been sorted out 4 months after launch but it seems not. What more annoying is I'm now out of the 28days and this need to sent off to HTC.
I'm trying to live with it but find it more annoying each day.

What do you mean it clicks? these are hardware issues., not bugs
Too true this is a hardware issue. It sounds like the vibro clicks every time the haptic feedback is used. This happens on all keyboards and capacitive buttons. It's almost as if sound on key press is on and the sound is a horrible annoying click.

Cheers. There's no 'SH' mentioned on that screen on my phone. If it's something to do with 'Device Serial Number', then it starts with HT23CW. I guess that would make it an earlier version?

Yeah that's quite an early one.
SH is manufactured in Shanghai, HT in Taiwan.
The 23 means March (24 is April, etc), the C means 12th day.
I'm having a problem with my M8. The digitizer registers touches when my finger is quite close to the screen (1mm) but I haven't actually touched it. It's not a massive problem as it's just 1mm but it makes the user experience quite strange. Sometimes I press something on the screen but two touches are registered (one when I approach the screen, another when I actually touch it). Or sometimes I'm going to press a button and the action happens before I actually touch the screen, leaving me thinking "WTF just happened?"
It's something similar to this but of course a lot less serious:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTfyPCjDaio#t=113
Can any other M8 owners check if this happens with their phone? Thanks in advance!
Yep, you can control the screen from 1mm above it. Makes it very stressfull trying to type at times lol
Yeah, the M7 did this for me too.

Can you guys push you glass down at the edges? I don't have to put a lot of pressure and the glass pushes down on the lcd and creates that blue mark

Yeah this is very annoying when I'm holding with my fingers just to the edge of the screen but its registering touches

Same here thought I was going mad.
But they said that the M8 have the best touch responsiveness.
