OFFICIAL OTA Asia thread - HTC One X

i made a thread about music quality once, then when someone made one after me, putting "official" in the title, mine was closed. now i know.
i'm tired of looking in the multiple 1.29 and OTA threads, so i just want to check in this one. i realize the changelog doesn't mention Asia. i just need to know when it's time to go back to stock and relock for an OTA. post here when you get one or hear of one.

No updates here. Also waiting for 1.29 update.

Anyone from Singapore get Froyo updates ???

Oaoa, I check every 5 minutes and nothing at all. Is the update only apply for Europe only? Is there any links to download the update yet?
Is there any bros here from Singapore? oaoa, dying waiting .

u get the "error status 7" is it?
I am trying the manual update. Download the file, change to update.zip, upload to sd card, follow the procedure and ... got error status 7. Google around but still no answer so far ...
Appreciate very much if anyone can help.
I think I found out the problem. In Singapore, the Eclair version is considered branded, build 1.19, which include the chinese keyboard and other stuffs that normal version does not have. And hence, the OTA update downloaded does not fit to it.
So I guess, either we wait for the OTA upgrade or we try to flash some other stock rom and do the manual update ...
So troublesome to try since need to redo all the settings, installing software ...
You guys got any ideas.
I think is because of the roms u guys using now. For now, only WWE or Europe Rom is eligible for update.
Before update to Froyo, I got software version 1.21.
Hope this help.

Philippines here, no update as well
nothing in hong kong either. seems we're all on the same boat now
okie, after a lot of readings, confirm that Asia rom got no update yet. So if wanna get the update, need to flash the WWE rom 1.21.405.2 first, then upgrade. Or else, wait for HTC to launch the asia rom upgrade.
So sad, since Asia rom got chinese keyboard (I think this is the only difference), if we try to use WWE general rom, we need to find the way ourself. So, either wait or itchy do, it's up to us.

Froyo includes all the keyboard u need. u can type chinese (pin yin or zhu yin or anything u like) even writting recognition (I haven't try that yet).
But definitely got chinese keyboard.
oh, okay, thx a lot. So I should try to flash WWE rom then upgrade, shouldn't I? Anyone from Asia got problem of flashing WWE general rom? or put in another way, anyone from Asia successfully upgrade to Froyo?
OK those from Asia who want to do the update to froyo:
I don't know if it will work directly from 1.19, you can try, but you may need to get your phone to WWE v 1.21 first. For this you WILL need a gold card, you will also need a goldcard in order to upgrade to froyo from the update.zip
I am doing this as we speak, for the nth time rebooting hoping it works this time.
IF it works, and it's a big IF right now, I will post detailed instructions.
Edit: GOT IT! Woo hoo.
Stay tuned for a post in the General section about how to upgrade to Froyo if your hands are itchy like mine
bro, pls post detail instruction, thx a lot.
haha, very itchy, so try to flash the 1.21 rom then magic happens, got updates when press check now and ... installing. Everything works great. In fact, do not need to do the manual update, OTA will do.
Cheers bro.
Indonesia no update yet.so if i want to flash rom 1.21. I need made goldcard.isn't it?.thanks.

If you are talking about JB it is rumored that it will hit asia (ie: CID _044 ) the 15th of november till the 19th . (Some posts through out XDA saying that they asked HTC recently for the update and the answer was 15 to 19 november)

Please keep all JB related info and posts in the thread exocetdj linked to. We don't need 100 individual threads based on CID.

[Q] How can I get Android 4.2.2 & Sense 5 on HTC One X?

Please mind if anything I write/do on this forum is wrong. This is my first ever post on a forum and I know barely nothing about rooting a phone.
Unfortunately the carrier on my HTC One X, Orange UK, has not released the Android 4.2.2, Sense 5 update yet - and it's most likely that they are not going to. So I am looking to root my phone in order to get this update. I did look at flashing a custom ROM at first, but I'd prefer to get the official version. I did find something on the internet about changing the CID on my phone by rooting it, so that I could receive the official OTA update straight from HTC. Can someone please give me the dumbed-down version on how to do this? I will very much appreciate it.
Edit : wrong thread !
Well you can install a sense 5 custom rom. That's the easiest. If you want to update officially then unlocking and rooting is not going to help. And changing your cid is also impossible.

[Q] 4.4 in UK, ready to be closed when the forum gods see it.

Touchy bunch aren't you? Anyone care to point us in the direction of some useful information?
Like what? 4.4 hasn't been released for the UK. In fact, it's only been released in less than a dozen region's. No one here knows when a specific region will receive it, why the regions that got it first were chosen, or anything else to do with Samsung's update logic and reasoning. If you have a 600/601 you can flash another region's ROM right now. You'll be able to do the same thing with a 605 as soon as the NEE update that came out yesterday is posted on Samfirmware or Samsung-updates. There are tons of posts discussing how to flash another region's ROM and the implications. If you're interested, invest the time in finding them. Or, you can just wait for the UK update to be pushed along with other folks whose regions haven't received the update yet.

Please don't open more redundant threads. KK will come to your device with it comes to your device. Unless you work for Samsung, it is only speculation at this point.
And as you have said, I have Seen it and now I will Close it.

[Q] How quickly does htc post rom updates?

My last three questions have not gotten a single response.... Hopefully I did not piss somebody off and now I am blacklisted or something. But I will ask another question..
Does anybody know if the htc rom downloads page posted below add the rom updates at the same time as they roll out the OTA?
http://www.htc.com/us/support/rom-downloads.html
no
The Rom/RUU downloads are updated very inconsistently. Often new versions are never posted at all. A lot has to do with the carriers, who don't always seem to give HTC their files or don't want RUUs posted at all (note the disclaimer about Verizon).
HTC is only required to make the kernel source available. Everything else is a courtesy.
Makes sense.. do you know what the latest build number the dev edition is running? I keep hearing about 1.40 but I ruu'd back to stock 1.32.617.30 and check for update and it still says there's no current updates.
Edit-- just found this explaining the update.
