[Q] Is there a ROM that does not have the data drop issue? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Currently using latest Gummy was using AOKP M5 and b35. When I connect to wifi I can no longer send/receive MMS. The only way to fix is to turn off wifi and reboot. Then I can send or receive MMS but as soon as I connect wifi it is broke again.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You could always go back to a 4.0.3-based ROM, as the data drop issue was introduced with 4.0.4.
In the meantime, toggling airplane mode may be quicker than a full reboot.

Have you tried the latest Leankernel ? It includes all the fixes from the linux kernel and I never had any connection problem actually.

I have tried airplane mode toggle on/off and it does not reconnect data for me only a full reboot seems to do the trick.
Ill give that leankernel a shot here in a bit. Thanks.

Ok, I tried leankernel from the link above.. no change, issue is still there.
Suppose I'll have to try and find a good 4.0.3 rom now. Any recomendations? Most seem to be 4.0.4

no problems with any cm9 nightly with stock cm9 kernel + UGCL1 radio

I've never been able to send MMS with WiFi turned on, not on 2.0.2, 2.0.3 or 2.0.4. I dont have to reboot the phone, I just toggle WiFi.

[Q] CM 7.0 wifi connects but doesn't work

Hi all, I'm running CM 7 stable with latest radio (7.15.35.16) and 2.6.32.17 kernel. I I wiped data, cache, and dalvik cache before flashing cm7, then the appropriate gapps. The problem has been ongoing with other cm 7 RCs, but doesn't happen in 6.1.1. I am able to connect to wifi networks, but I can't load or reload anything in any app. The icon stays white/gray on the status bar instead of turning green like the data network icon does to show it's fully working. Tried the android dev forums, but haven't found anything that fixes this. Any help would be much appreciated.
<strike>So I found a way for data to work while on wifi. I have to enable gps and have it lock on in google maps in order for the wifi to send and receive data instead of just being connected and doing nothing. Don't know much of the code stuff so if anyone can figure that one, be my guest!</strike>
Thanks to ilostchild for the fix in the last post. Pull 'tiwlan.ini' from cm6.1.1 and push it to cm7. Located in System>ETC>WIFI folder. Mount system before pulling and pushing files. Good luck!
I believe your kernel is geared for FROYO not Gingerbread. You might need to reflash the ROM and don't flash any "new" kernels as of yet. It may break your wifi.
This is the kernel that came with CM 7, unless I'm mistaken. But I'll try the re-flash option. Update later. Thanks for the suggestion.
You're right, i'm an idiot haha. Have you synced your google accounts to your phone yet? The green and grey signifies your connection to google servers.

I did. I did see the green and grey while on mobile network, but only grey when on wifi. Should I not let the phone restore everything once I reflash? I might try that and make sure every aspect of the google account syncs before attempting a wifi connect. Either way, I can always go back to cm 6.1 Thanks.
Try nightly 39, I read that was fixed in it. I didn't have the problem so I can't say if it was.

Tried it as well... No dice. I guess I'm one of the (un)lucky ones. Thanks, anyway.

This worked for me, thanks!

Would you be able to make a flashable zip with the stock wifi files? I've been having problems with CM6 and 7 wifi.
I don't think anyone has ever had a problem with the stock rom wifi. It would solve nearly anyone's problem.

The stock wifi files wont work with cm7, because cyanogenmod uses mostly generic drivers for things we dont have source for. Have you tried formatting the system in recovery? format everything except your sd card, reflash cm7, then add the twlan.ini from cm6. thats what worked for me, and i was one of those "unlucky ones."

Tried flashing this zip but didn't work. Just seemed to get an error and abort.

Hi,
I flashed my ROM with CM7 Nightly recently and now I am unable to scan any WIFI networks. When I switch on Wifi it says scanning and then it drops and the scanning re-appears within a few seconds This is happening continuously.
Note - flashed the radio too to the latest but didn't work

[Q] wifi radio files for GSM GNexus.

I flashed jelly bean on my google playstore GNex. since then the wifi performance has diminished. my laptop, ipad, printer and tv, all in the same room have full 5 sticks of connectivity whereas my nexus randomly changes between 1-3 sticks and sometimes drops for no reason. i have flashed the verizon wifi fix posted earlier but the problem seems to have worsend a little. it was fine when i was on 4.0.4. can someone suggest a fix or give me a flashable file of 4.0.4 wifi radiofiles? Any help would be resoundingly appreciated. thanks a lot in advance.
wifi "radio files" are within the kernel.
try franco kernel r210 or trinity's jb kernel
thanks for the quick reply. simply flashing them via cwm will do? will that change anything else other than wifi? thanks.
I have the same issue with weaker WiFi signal. I would rather stay on the stock kernel for now so any help would be appreciated.

read what a kernel does......
@krnchicken753: cant complain when the 'possible fix' is there but you aren't willing to try it. you could always go back to ics which is more stable.

[Q] {ROM} - JB CM10 FXP144 -> Wifi reconnect problem

Hi,
I am really happy with the FPX144 rom! It is getting more and more stable.
Still there is one anoying issue. When I come back home, my does not always reconnect to my Wifi.
When I go to WIfi settings it can not see the network
I click refresh, then it sees the network, but does not connect.
I click the network and Connect. Now it tries to connect, but nothing happens.
I need to turn off and on Wifi and then it works.
Anyone has a sollution for this?
When you are using CM10 FXP144 you must have instaled the Kernel inside ROM(zip)... And are you trying instaled the final fixes by bestt -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1780316&highlight=cyanogenmod&page=301

I did all the things in that post.
Full wipe. kernel from ROM, ROM, gapps, final_144_fixes, BB72_libs
It is already working better than previous version, but still this issue remains.
With the new FPX145 I do not see the problem anymore. Maybe it is fixed, Maybe the ROM is now flashed in a better way?

[Q] Wifi won't connect after deepsleep? Anyone else having issues

I have an issue on my phone where if my phone sits for extended periods of time with wifi off during deepsleep, I am unable to turn wifi back on until I reboot phone. I have tried cleanflashing current versions (without any kernels or addons) of carbon rom, cyanogenmod and Tasks rom all with the same issue. I believe this issue may have started since version 4.2.2........I have yet to confirm by relfashing previous version. Anyone else have this issue or have a solution?

The router's not the issue in this one, wifi on my phone just doesn't turn back on is what the problem is :S It just gets stuck at "Turning Wifi on..." and then eventually just times out.

I just flashed back to the last android 4.1.2 CM (10.1.1 stable from Jul10/13) and the problem goes away. So this is definitely a problem with 4.2.2 and my phone. Any ideas anyone? Is this just a bug?

I have seen 4.2.2 be a little picky with particular routers and their settings, so that's why I asked about your router. Have you tried a different kernel?

Yup, I've trieds Ktoonz, stock cm, and Task's kernels with no luck
I'm still having this issue with CM 10.2 (4.3 based) After a period of time (maybe 30-50min) of wifi being turned off, I am unable to enable wifi again until I reboot. I have flashed to a touchwiz problem and the problem goes away. So there's def something in the aosp/cm framework causing this issue.
