Hi can anyone please help,I've followed zedomax video to unroot the one x,it says relocked and now I'm stuck in bootloader I've tried everything and factory reset but can't get out, wish I'd have left it rooted!or is there anyway I can re-root it and unlock it even though stuck in bootloader?please help
Thanks russ
Well there's no biggie. You can always fastboot unlock again if you're stuck in HBOOT, and re-root.
What happens when you press Fastboot, and then Reboot? (or Factory Reset?) does it just jump back into HBOOT? [stupid question: have you held the power button until the device shut off? and tried after that?]
Try reinstalling the RUU compatible with your phone, but do this while you have a STOCK recovery and RELOCKED bootloader.
If re rooting would I be able to unlock it again without going through it all again?about to try ruu which will mine be 1.26 1.28 1.29?i never updated it from stock!thanks
Yes jumps back into hboot an yes it's been turned off and tried factory reset but nothing!any idea how to re root an unlock from the situation I'm in now please?

Hi,
I rooted my phone about a year ago and recently wanted to update it and try a new ROM. Since I have no idea what the compatibility of of my old ROM I made a NAND backup then I reset it to the factory RUU version 3.29.651.5 and my phone was back to normal in the boot loader S was set as S-on.
I then proceeded to use the autoroot v2.5 in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=838448. In the cmd prompt it said it was flashing the firmware, then said it was waiting for the device to boot up; however, the device did not boot up, I waited for approx 60 min and it was stuck on a black screen with the HTC logo in the middle and a small warning (triangle with exclamation point) in each corner. Now, it is permanently stuck on that screen. Even if I try to hold the volume down to get to the boot loader when it starts, it still goes to this screen.
What can I do to try to get out of this? I cant go back to my recovery to get my backup.
Thanks

The first time I tried to Root my phone, I had the same problem with Toasts Root method. That's stock Recovery you're seeing.
I ended up having to use Unrevoked Linux version and swore I would never unroot again, and I haven't.
I've tried using unrevoked and several other methods. The problem is I think most of them rely on the phone being on with USB debugging enabled. I unfortunately can't get there. The one ray of hope I have is that the device is recognized in my device manager as "Android USB device - HTC bootloader". Is there any other way I could fix this?

Are you holding power and volume down at the same time. Sounds like you are just holding volume. When you get to the bootloader I'd you see s-off all you will need to do is flash a PC36IMG of the recovery of your choice(I recommend twrp). Good luck!

Also, no need to unroot for any rom. Once you are rooted you can flash anything you want. Compatibility wise, you may need to update a radio but that is just flashed in recovery.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I am holding power and volume down. Powering it on normally and powering it on while holding volume down both go to the same screen.
I Rooted an evo that kept having the restart issue with revolutionary. I was able to unroot it, but now the origional rom will not load. everytime i restart the phone it goes to the bootloader screen. I can choose fastboot, recovery , simlock, or restart i believe. I just want to get it to load the original rom. I never put any custom roms or anything on. cus it got stuck so i decided to unroot hoping it would fix but still stuck. Any suggestions?
so are you still s-on?

Hi there,
I've got a problem with my Desire Z. I did S-Off and Root a while ago and have gone back to Non-Root Stock RUU last week. Yesterday I did some Marketupdates when my phone suddendly turned off and on again. After doin that it stuck in splashscreen... only way to turn it off was pulling battery. I tried different things to recover the phone, but eitherway it stuck or it said "no permissions" (cause i'm not rooted).
Things I tried and what happend:
Booted normaly -> stuck at splashscreen
Booted normaly -> no adb connection at all
Booted into bootloader -> tried flashing RUU -> stuck at "Rebooting Bootloader"
Booted into bootloader -> tried flashing PC10IMG via SD card -> stuck at "Parsing zip"
Booted into bootloader -> tried "fastboot reboot-bootloader" -> stuck in bootloader
Booted into bootloader -> tried "fastboot flash recovery/bootloader/systemimage" -> stuck in bootloader
I read, that the bootloader should be broken so the phone is bricked, but I also read, that there is (possibly) a way to unbrick it. Any suggenstions? :x It's still S-Off, so I'm afraid, HTC will not repair it for free...
Kind regards,
loliman
You said you have s off and root? Then just flash a new rom and recovery via fastboot
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda premium
Well no, I'm S-Off, but NOT rooted, I flashed a official HTC RUU and throud it would remove S-Off and Root, but it only removed Root...
So S-Off YES; Root NO
Not 100% on this but if your s off you can still use fastboot

With S-off you can flash unsigned PC10IMG's.
If you have the ENG hboot still, you can use all of the fastboot commands, otherwise you are very limited to what you can do.

I know, that I can flash PC10IMG's, I've tried that a couple times. The problem is, that the phone freezes everytime I'm trying this. The last thing the phone is doing is "parsing zip", it doesnt even start "flashing bootloader"... only way to get out of this is pulling the battery.
Could try use the fastboot method.
Have a look at the 'fastboot downgrade method' in this guide

I'm at work right now, so I'm not able to try this one, but after the first read I can say, that this won't work for me. I had the same idea before, but the problem is, that, even if it boot the phone in "normal" mode, I'm not able to access adb.
When the phone is turned off and I turn it on by pressing the powerbutton the phone freezes in splashscreen - the boot animation is not even coming up, adb does not recognize my phone in this part of boot process... :/
Yesterday I decided to try rooting my phone for the first time and after a long journey I think I may have screwed up my phone. At first, it went fine. I had cwm as a recovery and installed cyanogenmod. I decided to try another rom, so I deleted the data to start anew. At this point, cwm kept rebooting and wouldn't allow me to recover, so after trying a few solutions I stumbled upon this thread- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2437436. I followed the instructions but was left with an error; FAILED (Remote: 53 Image Unzipping Fail). When I restarted my phone, my phone has been stuck in what I believe is ruu mode (black screen with silver htc logo, one triangle on each corner). I can't get back to the recovery menu even if I hold the power button and volume down. I can sill run fastboot, though, so I can keep trying to flash the Rom.zip, but it has that same error. It was S Off and Relocked before I encountered this problem. Is there any way to fix the phone?
Sounds like you can get into ruu. Just follow the instructions in the ruu post. If you can fastboot just fastboot flash boot boot.img, that should get recovery back.

I have an htc one as stated above. It is rooted and has s-off but at the time things went wrong I was running my stock rom.
Yesterday when I went to pause my music my screen froze. I tried turning my phone off and when I attemtep to reboot it all I got was the htc white logo screen. It will remain on this screen until I turn the phone off.
I can enter the bootloader but the options don't work (reboot only turns the phone off, factory rest freezes the bootloader) I have tried everything to fix this, from locking the bootloader and using an RUU exe (locking the bootloader failed) to reflashing the recovery (gave me the error "remote image update error).
The thing that I really don't understand is why this happened, I wasn't even doing anything and my phone just crapped out on me.
I need this phone back and I don't know what to do, any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Oh, and the best part is that all of this happened AFTER I already filed a warranty claim for the phones faulty mic. My new device comes tomorrow and if I send them this one back I'll be out 600 bucks.
Is there any way to fix this?

Additionally, everything is still unlocked (bootloader says unlocked, still have s-off) and there is no tamper evidence either.

When you enter your boot loader, what does the following command give you: fastboot devices
If you get your phone in response, you are not out of hope.
