On my menu, I arranged the apps but when I turn off my phone and turn it on, the some of the apps that I arranged goes at the end. It doesn't stay where I placed it. Why is this?
You have probably put the apps that disappear on your sd card. Remove any widgets from the school card and put them back into system. Some of the others just wait for your sd card to mount.

I do wait for the whole phone to load and it still some apps goes at the last screen of the menu. E.g. Virtua Tennis, I put it at the first screen on my main menu (not homescreen) and then when it reboot the phone, it goes at the last slide of the main menu. This app is supposed to be on the sd card... So is there a fix for this?
You can try using another launcher that doesn't do that. Sony's launcher does that on mine too. I don't think there's a fix. I now sort my apps alphabetically :\

Yes, there is.. use link2sd. Move all your apps into your internal and link it to your sd card

i do use link2sd but I dont know how to move it into the internal. Do you mean move it into the internal memory and then rearrange it in the menu and then put it in my sd card?

I installed [ROM-FroYo] DeFroST 0.5 Desire
Most apps I've installed are gone after reboot if stored on the SD card. Can anyone can tell me which applications would work if stored on SD card.
I even tried some games but only works if they on the phone memory.
If you are using launcher pro then there is a bug. I don't know if it with the launcher or ROM but it happens to me and a couple of other people I have read. If you restart your phone then just force close launcherpro, press home button and when it restarts it will see all your apps. I am guessing it is something to do with it loading before the SD card has initialised so it doesn't pick them up. Small price to pay for a great from and a blazing fast launcher though IMO!

despite the apps going missing from the app drawer in Launcher Pro, it's still possible to add shortcuts to the 'missing' apps on your homescreens
only if you use usb storage they dissapear and dont reappear... go into advanced task killer and kill launcher pro ... press home and all will be fixed
Thnx for info just force close launcher pro and they all back. Also, when you install widgets if they go to sd first then move them to phone and restart the phone only then you can see them.
Hey guys,
no need to 'kill' LauncherPro. Just go to manage apps and clear the defaults for the app. Then press your home button, and reapply the default choice to use LauncherPro. That fixed it for me
I just installed CM7 due to some random reboots/freezes with Evervolv (that I attribute to kernel issues since I flashed a new one...nevermind that part right now)
Anyway, I'm having a problem with some widgets. My SetCPU widget works fine, but some aren't - my Juice Plotter widget isn't available to select, nor is my SimiClock widget. I've verified that they are both installed, but they just don't show up when I go to add widgets. Any suggestions?
I use Launcher Pro as my app launcher with two rows of dock buttons that lets me access all my vital apps. On my home screen I like to run the SimiClock widget since it gives me a clock, weather, and battery percent. Below that, I have the SetCPU widget just to keep an eye on frequencies and temp (but I use CM to set the frequencies...) next to that, I run juice plotter to see how much battery I have left - it's a very zen type layout for me, and not having this is screwing with me...
Go to settings>application>manage apps and click on the downloaded tab. From there scroll down to each app you want to have a widget for and make sure they are not installed to the sdcard. If they are move them to the phone. No app widgets will work if the app is installed to the sdcard. After you move the apps to the phone, you may need to reboot to get them to show up in the LP widgets.

Thank you so much - that was exactly it! Got my beautiful home screen back now
Just something to keep in mind if you continue having issues with launcherpro and cm7..I basically had to dump launcherpro while running cm7. Launcherpro was my first non-stock launcher and it was what I was happy and familiar with...but once I moved to cm7 it became a nightmare. Constant lockups and forcecloses, my homescreens would lag up..
Now, I know full well it could just be a problem more with my phone and the way I use it than a cm7 or LP issue, but it was a consistent issue that came back any time I tried to move back to LP and went away whenever I moved to another launcher (using GOlauncher now).
If you want to store apps on the sd with functional widgets and all, you'll need to go the ext3 route. Look for the darktremor a2sd thread on here. You'll also need to repartition your sd to create this ext3 partition, so make sure to backup your sd first.
Hi, I am just trying to find out the root cause of an issue I have been experiencing.
With some custom ROM's after reboot standard green icons display on my menu instead of the proper ones. I do and did use apps2 SD but found moving the apps back to phone and rebooting displays the app icons properly again.
Would this be normal because of using apps2 SD ? Before I found icons showing even when apps are on SD.
Just trying to find out what can be done to have apps on SD without this problem occurring.

Well I am on stock ROM and it happens to me as well but the icons do come back themselves after a while. Although its only for the apps saved to SD.

How to get icons showing correctly when on SD is what I'm trying to find out, anyone know ?
I have now put apps back on phone instead of SD seeing as the DHD has plenty of internal storage so is there even a need to use apps2 SD maybe not.

I am sorry, I don't really understand the question. I doubt I could help even if I had understood the problem.
Is it a graphical bug? Perhaps a image file has been corrupt and needs adding again?
The problem is when using apps2 SD after reboot icons show as standard green android icons with some apps.
I have found so far that putting that apps back on phone resolves this.
The question is how to fix it if it is possible to have apps on sd and still show correct icons.
It's easy. Save your scene, load a default HTC scene then load your saved scene. The icons will default to the normal app icon instead of the standard green Android icon. A workaround for this is to create your shortcuts with an app like BetterCut. Those are "stable" so to speak and don't default to the green Android icon after a reboot.
Does anyone have any idea why the icons keep disappearing? I'm talking about the shortcuts to applications you can put where the widgets are. It's the place were you can put shortcuts, widgets or folders.
You mean in the launcher, yes?
I had the same problem. It sometimes happens to the apps that are on sd card and when you boot the phone and start using it too early, before all apps load. Next time try to give your phone some time after reboot, a minute or minute and half shoult be fine to load everything and then start using your phone. I do it every time and it's fine for me.
Cheers

im also experiencing this, after a reboot even if i wait for 10-15 minutes before i use it, some apps from the shortcut i made are not there anymore..
Then it's a software problem?
It's an Android problem i believe ; you can use titanium backup to backup the sony ericsson home app or you can use a launcher which allows you to backup your homescreen i.e go launcher.
I found turning off the animation fixed this for me.

Had the same problem and after re-creating folders several times [painfully as I had all my games in individual folders by genre] I finally gave up on it. It happens anytime you pull the battery / switch sim card or unmount the sd.
The solution I came up with was an app called 'Apps Organizer' I now label and create folders/shortcuts using that app and all works well
I often get the circling arrow type of refresh notification when trying to open the drawer in launchers like Apex and Nova. I have the latest radio and set my build.prop to keep launcher in memory. I have almost 200 apps. Is there any way to make ameliorate the problem? It "refreshes" way too often and takes way too much time. I've been using Smart Task Bar and even when installing new apps, as far as I can recall, it has never made me wait to show all apps. What do you guys think is the problem here? Would moving apps to SD help? I vaguely recall it makes the startup slower.
You cannot lock the home launcher process in memory via the build.prop like you can with GB in ICS.
Second, I feel like Smart Taskbar is hijacking the launcher process and as such your home launcher is not getting the appropriate priority it needs to stay in memory. Every time you see the app reloading animation that means your launcher has been killed and has reloaded.
You should try V6 Supercharger to reprioritize your home launcher and unfortunately, uninstall Smart Taskbar since if it's using the launcher priority you will always have to deal with a reloading launcher since it'll be killed very often.
On a different device (and possibly Android version) I'm sure Smart Taskbar would be great, but if it's sitting behind all your tasks, all the time, it's using up memory, which is why your launcher keeps getting killed.

Apex launcher has been fine for me, and I'm at around 160 apps now.
"Move to SD" moves the app to the FAT32 portion of the SD card, which would be much slower overall. I'm using SD-ext which still shows as installed to internal, but all the apps are on an sd-ext partition of the SD card (moving to SD would be pointless from there as it's already on the SD just on a faster/leaner ext4 partition). Besides some applications simply do not like being stored/run from a FAT32 partition.
Thanks for the replies. Although when flashing andromo I picked to have supercharger installed, following your advice, I chose to reinstall via directions from the supercharger thread with script manager and the .sh file. Works better now with less refreshing of launcher. Added bonus, global touch responsiveness significantly improved.
