STATUS UPDATE25.09.2012: The development of this ROM has been stopped, due to lack of time and replacement of my Gio as primary phone by a newly aquired HTC Desire. The topic will be kept open, I may answer questions in the future. Thanks!

Q&A, Troubleshooting
1. During music playback, I get sound skipping, crackling and overall bad sound quality.
That's because both kernels included have a default minimum CPU frequency set too low to handle smooth media playback. I have no control over that, but there's a solution: go to No-Frills CPU Control, chose minimum frequency 245MHz and set it to apply on every boot.
2. Statusbar battery icon doesn't hide/show when I toggle its checkbox
It will toggle, just only after a status change (level increase/decrease, connect/deconnect charger or usb cable etc.)
3. Why doesn't includes Adrenaline engine?
UPDATE: well, now it's included but only as optional during installation. Motivations below still apply.
Mainly for two reasons: I can't support Adrenaline engine, because I don't know what it does and how it does it, so in case of bugs, wouldn't know what to do. Secondly, I see no reason to have it preinstalled as I see it has a real easy way to install (just a zip flash), and so it can be easily installed by the end user.
4. What about apps-on-sdcard type scripts?
Same as above, I can't support problems they might induce.
There are more options anyway, and each should use his personal favorite. To name just a few:
Mount2SD. Some users reported to have obtained best results with this, gained a lot of free space on the phone's memory, and overall being better than other scripts
Link2SD. This has a real easy method to setup, all you need to do is to partition the SD-Card with an extra partition (many file formats supported) and install the apk. It will take care of the rest by itself.
5. Can you theme the ROM this way or this other way?
Keeping the ROM as much as possible stock is a personal preference, and I don't think I'm going to theme it. The biggest liberty I took in regard of looks was to change the boot animation, and that's mainly because i couldn't find a stock boot animation in zip format, as custom kernels don't support the original boot animation file format.
Second, theming doesn't please the larger part of the user base; some like one theme, some like other theme, but I reckon most just like it as it is and just want more features.

Madelgijs, I tried 3.1, but unfortunately, does not work on stock rom; looking into the zip, there are no kernel modules present, no wifi drivers... maybe he forgot them and that's why it doesn't work.

I used the smali files responsible for the screenshot function from a cyanogen rom, called from a new option in the menu (copied one of the existing option with a few edits).

Ah. I see. That explains a lot. I gave the new kernel a quick try last night and it didn't boot, but I thought it was due to me being tired late in the night.

european roms always include italian, don't worry about that..
only firmwares for countries outside europe problably don't have italian, like the asian firmware..
some questions about the rom:
why RFS? ext4 is better..
why ODIN? flashable zips are easier to use, modify..
you used the swipe to remove from ace or did it yourself, cuz I use the one from ace but its a bit buggy, is yours too?

Most complex mods are put together by bits and pieces from various posts (like swype to remove, original tutorial wasn't working as is, and some edits were required; or original 14 toggles included flashlight - not working on Gio, so I modified it for wifi hotspot instead). I'll dig through my bookmarks though to post some links...or maybe provide the edited files with modifications highlighted?

RFS is just a starting point...wanted to have the rom completely bugless before moving to more advanced things. Ext4 and flashable zip are in project.
For swype to remove notification see above...ported using different sources, no bugs whatsoever with it.

RFS is just a starting point...wanted to have the rom completely bugless before moving to more advanced things. Ext4 and flashable zip are in project.

1) Copy the ZIP file (not unzip) the Foxhound in the phone memory
3) Disconnect the USB stick and restart the phone in recovery mode
4) Select the "Wipe Data" then "wipe cache partition" just did a wipe select the "advanced" and "Wipe Dalvik Cache"
5) Now select "Install from sdcard zip" and install the ROM
7) After installation select "reboot system now"

Just found a BUG!!!
as you can tell, the the call screen is OFF screen ... notice the buttons are covering the over extending call screen. i still can answer... but my eyes aren't pleased with the look of it
Also, the flashing drag animation of the answering circle is flashing CAMERA icon towards the reject button...

Owner read & write, everything else just read, no special permissions. You can also just look at the permissions for anything else in there & copy them.

as you can tell, the the call screen is OFF screen ... notice the buttons are covering the over extending call screen. i still can answer... but my eyes aren't pleased with the look of it

Installation:

and then don't forget to change your time zone also...

I am a lover of CM7 and ICS Roms : for me Cyanogen mod 7 has always the best for Galaxy I9000 devices.
However, CM7 and ICS have some issues (ie. Camera and Video apks come from android official project : Samsung doesn’t release sources).
So, I thought to take the best stock rom , the best kernel and add/mod some programs from CM7 and graphical/colors from ICS project. (there is a MIUI apk ,too )

(Q) Is it possible to force only 3g network setting ?
(A) No there isn't this feature (you can force only 2g or automatic 2g/3g setting)
(Q) I cant tick on 2g save battery , when i tick it , it turns to black and then not ticked
(A) before try to close off your data connection . Exit and return to network setting menu and after tick 2g.
(Q) Mms contact limit is limited to 10 Contacts.
(A) Go to Setting --> Applications --> Manage applications, go to All selection and search and click "Messaging".
Select "Clear data" option . Now you have No contacts limit.[/COLOR]
(Q) If configure Exchange account, Mail application stopped FC = Force Close
(A) Go to Setting --> Applications --> Manage applications, go to All selection and search and click "Email". Do a "Clear data" option. Reconfigure again your email account.
(Q) Tethering USB / Wi-Fi don't work : error
(A) In Semaphore app go to "kernel features" and select "Netfilter" option
(Q) After a restart my phone show an error on "Script Manager" application.

why didn't you use the JVU firmware as a base? is it because oglf the missing tsmparts integration?
not only for tsmparts integration. I have just tested jvu rom and last semaphore kernel but I did not see any improvement or best performance.

if you like Jvu features don't download this rom.

Just installed on JW1 ....took only about 3 minutes to boot. So far looks great, very customizable. Thanks for the great rom. I hear you about JVU I wasnt satisfied with it either. Face recognition is a joke, half my co workers were able to unlock it. Ill will report any issues if any. Thanks again.

A simple solution : download from Market "Spare Parts+" application. After installation you can easily change the font size
The features which i want are in this ROM..

here is my last DMore 3.5 JW7-t Gingerbread ROM built from last samfirmare XWJW7 (ITA) july 2012.
In this new my work i personally hached/modded all stock APKs (Phone, Mms, Camera, SystemUI, etc) and services like services.jar and framework.jar
So this work it would be very stable and No bug (I hope )
If you search for a fluid/elegant/simply style ICS ROM , this DMORE3.5 is for you !!
DIFFERENCEs FROM previous DMORE3.3 JW5
Jw7 samfirmware release is a little bit more fluid.
Finally now the browser application is fast (no more lags like previous jw5 rom).
However Gallery application continues to be slow
I just added some tweak on build rom on Dalvik Virtual machine.
I modified a little bit Phone, MMS, Music png pictures and changed some xml loyout file. I also changed many values/styles on
Framework-res for a new look.

These features are present on Status Bar expended menu (choice icon png Reboot) : It's more safety for no developers people that have them on power menu
The second issue that you report about battery charging I don't have any feedback

I'd tend to agree with David perspective about extended options, while during battery charging (tested with main supply and USB powered cable) all is properly working here.

I'm able to deodex APK but not Re-odex them again: my apologize for this !!
A odex Rom version it would be more fast; however a deodex ROM is more easy to manager.

Yes, if i change language on my phone in German I see the two dots after day and after month : i think it 's normal

But i could not change CSC, there is only one csc inside.
And the lockscreenbug is still present, lockscreen says charging when battery is under 20%

This Rom version (3.5) is single CSC (only Italian operators). I don't make a multi CSC ROM because you can set manually your APN (access point network). (CSC in fact , set up only these informations).
Yes, under 20% device say charging (It mean for samsung developers that you should charge your phone if under 20 % : crazy ). It's present in all stocks roms device; I just see for a thread that explain how fix it but there are a lot of steps to do and probably you risk to generate some FC (force close) on your device. In any case the charge issue I think, is irrilevant.

1. Be sure to check GPS tweak and GPS region and select your region (when installing rom)
2. Go outside be sure the sky is clear and there is no obstruction above you...
3. Enable GPS and (Install) and Open GPSStat
4. Wait for 60 seconds keeping the screen on by tapping it regularly
5. If you do not get a lock in 2-5 minutes try installing the Rogers Modem and try process again
6. Please report your success or failure (I got a lock in about a minute, i live in Canada)

not that i know of , never had that problem .... ull just have to see .... yes for the greater good
I like this ROM, especially the lower lcd density (did you do anything special? android wouldn't boot when I tried to change it myself before) but I think you have been a bit too rigorous with debloating the ROM. For example, there is no calendar or calendarsync, no gallery, no clock/alarm, etc. Could you make there available as installable packages? (or at least provide a zip with all removes apks).
And, if possible, could you (give an option to) remove the provider name from the status bar?

For example, there is no calendar or calendarsync, no gallery, no clock/alarm, etc. Could you make there available as installable packages? (or at least provide a zip with all removes apks).
And, if possible, could you (give an option to) remove the provider name from the status bar?

thanks ... no just changed it in build.prop ..... i replaced gallery with quickpic because i think its faster ... was going to add a zip for calender but forgot (i never use it myself) i'll make some more installable zips and attach them ... Ill add that in the next release ... for now you can install my updated 14toggles mod in the general section ...

Oops, I (wrongfully) assumed quickpic was a camera app so I didn't bother to check it out. Looking forward to the installable zips

Thanks! Both zips seem to be working fine. I'd suggest adding the GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk (I managed to restore it from a previous titanium backup) to enable syncing with Google.
Any chance you could add the default keyboard too? The Samsung one doesn't provide a lot of languages unfortunately.

strange it works for me :S .... try it again ... also go into /system/app/ with es file explorer (need to enable root browser in settings) and click on both LatinIme apks ... it should ask to replace application for both ...
I love seeing ROM's for this phone each seems to fit peoples needs good work

Not sure what's going wrong but your suggestions didn't work, even after a full wipe it's still greyed out, but at least it's default state it checked instead of unchecked now, which means I can actually use it. So thanks for your help

For some reason its not letting me download apps like facebook from the app store....any idea why

I found one problem. Every time when I tried to the mobile hotspot, then the device crashed into black screen. I need to remove battery to restart it....

This is probably due to the modified DPI. It's very annoying, but for some reason, the Play Store hides about half of the apps I use when using a modified DPI. Maybe a patched version of the Play Store could be included in the ROM?
Anyway, I'm running this ROM for a day now and it's running nice and smoothly and I'm liking the modular idea. I did some toying around restoring a few more APKs myself as I needed them, maybe an idea for more installable packages? (although the VPN one probably won't be used much)
VPN Framework (needed for OpenVPN):
VpnDialogs.apk
Email (Because K-9 doesn't support exchange yet):
Exchange.apk
Email.apk
