If your device is indeed a UK version then you can download the 1.29.401.7 RUU from Europe. But if your device came from Europe but was imported from Asia then you need to find out what CID you have. As you know RUUs are CID/region dependent.

Get app from market called CIDgetter.
And google your CID and see what region it's from.
UPDATE:
Just had a look and you have the WWE Asia version so you will need the RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.28.707.10 version for your phone.

Did this work? How did you do it?
I'm in the same situation. Just got my phone its stock CID is HTC_044 same build wont let me update at all. I don't know whats going on here. I'm on version 1.19.707.1 Asia WWE wont OTA update.
I need to know if I can update manually somehow. This is my first HTC phone so I'm new to this. Flashed many roms before on tabs and Sammy phones but this is way different.

Yep that is it. Download HTC Sync on your pc after that shut of your phone and then power it back holding the power button and volume down keep holding until you're in the white screen with info on it. Then press the power button and make sure it says Fast boot. After that connect your phone to your pc let the drivers download and then run the program. Make sure your fully charged and backed everything up it wipes your phone.

You must find out the correct RUU for your Desire, you need to know if it was a branded phone or not and if it is AMOLED or SLCD. Cannot think on any other specification right now that would keep you from finding the right RUU...

I have a Desire that was originally Vodafone branded, Romania. I messed up something and I decided to use a RUU. Of course I couldn't find one from VDF RO, so I decided to use a WWE, the latest and it worked. You can also try it, but you still need to figure out if it's an AMOLED or a SLCD, I think.

[Q] Anyone got RUU for T-mobile based on 1.26.110.5? we might need them to do our OTA

Hi everybody.
Does someone know the link for the T-Mobile RUU, 1.26.110.5?
On the web I can just find the 110.2.
I think in order for some of us to get the T-Mobile OTA, we need the 110.5.
Or does anybody know if the OTA only looks at CID and IMEI numbers?
So is it Rom independent as long as we have a 1.26.110.x rom?
Just cause after downgrading from ARHD I am not getting the OTA on my device which is a bummer..
Thanks all... much appreciated

I think the OTA depends on your CID. I haven't seen the RUU 1.26.110.5
My software version is 1.26.110.5 and my phone is saying there is an update but everytime i try it just fails.
I have an unlocked bootloader but not root.
do i have to re-lock my bootloader to update or is there another way

Yes re-lock the bootloader before you install the OTA update.
Security Warning!!!!
ive re locked my bootloader but when i try to update it just goes to the hboot screen and at the top it says RELOCKED and underneath that it says Security Warning!!!!!
Any ideas please
Could you get the ota file of your phone first and upload it for us?

We've got the official update as a zip now, but because a lot of us actually have 110.2 as base rom, it is not working.
So if anyone can post a link for the 110.5 base, that would be great..
Its interesting how the RUU we have 110.2 doesn't receive the OTA updates, I wonder if it is a test RUU instead of the actually released 110.5. Even if this is the case, it begs the question, why has no one got the 110.5 RUU yet?
Did you have any luck with the OTA on top of the 110.2 RUU?
Thanks
Nope, no luck at all mate....

Update hox Vodafone version

Hi folks,
I bought my HOX from Amazon. Apparently it came up with HTC rom + slight changes did by the European mobile phone company Vodafone.
Currently, the operating system version is 4.0.3
Sense version is 4.0
Software version 1.29.161.13
Keneral 2.6.39.4-g1389c4c root @ ABM041 # 1 SMP PREEMPT
The problem: I did not get the latest update, and from what I understand, it depends on Vodafone's mood.
I want to have the stock rom, HTC original, no extra and no need to depend any gesture of goodwill of a cellular company.
How could I do this?
Thank you!

If you're running on 100% stock Vodafone you have to wait on them to push the update - you can't use an unbranded RUU

RUU = ROM Upgrade Utility
If you went custom you could still get OTAs but I wouldn't recommend it as it tends to screw up the phone

HTC sell the One X SIM-free which has stock, unbranded FW on it. They also supply carriers with their own version of the FW with the carrier's own apps/settings, etc. With older HTC handsets if you can set it to S-OFF (or use a Gold Card) you can 'debrand' the phone and change it to be the SIM-free version. You can't do that with the One X so unless you unlock the bootloader and flash a custom ROM you will ONLY get updates from Vodafone UK. If you go custom it's recommended you do not apply OTA updates as it can cause problems

[Q] HTC One X update hboot CID HTCCN701

Hello everyone,
I have an international HTC One X with CID HTCCN701, and I would like to install CM10.1.
I am not a noob , and I have already installed a Jelly Bean ROM after unlocking. However, I am currently on hboot version 1.12 S-ON Unlocked, and I could not find a hboot that is for my CID which fits the requirements (Version 1.28 or higher)
Moreover, though I know how to flash hboot, it would be great if anyone can provide a method to update hboot without changing the present ROM, recovery, and data on the device.
Thank you!
P.S. Please do not tell me to search; I cannot find a firmware here for HTCCN701
Does anyone have a solution?
Check for a newer hboot here

Yes, I think there is 1.29 RUU, but isn't the hboot contained in it not up to date?
And, I have already checked for updates when I was on stock ROM back in mid June.

Thanks, but are you sure it will just refuse to flash if it is a fake? Because I saw on the forums that if a wrong firmware is flashed, the device could be bricked.
Another question is that is it possible to upgrade hboot without modifying system and data?

You would need s-off for it to flash if it's fake and upgrading the hboot doesn't wipe system or data , although unlocking the boot loader does

Download an official RUU for ICS for your CID and flash it...
That will reinstall and wipe everything so make sure you have everything important backed up to your PC.
Then you should be able to download OTA updates.
