You might have noticed when trying to open a mediafire link on your phone you get a white screen. Well I found a fix.
First go to Google Play and download Dolphin Browser HD , install and open it. When it says about what type of browsing do you want? Android , iPhone , Desktop etc. Choose desktop and skip signing in.
Then go to the mediafire link from there. Next long press on the download now button and copy the direct dl link.
Paste in your normal browser and download. I hope this helped you all.:beer:

Hello I'm sorry if this has already been brought up but I was unable to find it and the search button is not functioning on my old computer.
Everytime I attempt to download from XDA (of course I am signed in) I immediately get a download unsuccessful message. I have tried Opera Mini, Dolphin HD browser and also have cleaned all cache, history, and data from browsers.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks Jeremy
Get the app "Download all files"
It'll let you download the files

What I do is hit menu then more and then hit browser and select opera. It will open what u are looking at into the browser then u should be able to download what u need. I have the same problem.

Well I have this issue from all 3 browsers. I will try both suggestions anyhow. Just can't believe I need an app to download files that my evo did without blinking. Kinda BS.
Thanks guys

+1 for download all files. fixes the issue no matter what the browser is
I'm new to the galaxy section so give me a little break. My previous 2 devices never had this issue.
How to you enable the phone to download files(any files) through your 4g network or even wiring?
I cannot seem to be able to download ANYTHING to my phone regardless of wifi or 4g.
I can download from the market which works fine. Its only downloads.from like multi upload and stuff.

I've had the issue as well. I tried many different sites. Typically megaupload worked for me but not on this device. I have no workaround that I have found yet and can suggest.
Download Astro file manager from the market its free, then open it, go under file manager/ then scroll the top tabs right to "preferences" and put a check mark next to enable browser downloads. Works for me.

Thanks! I'll try this out!
I use "Download all files" from the market because astro didn't work for me. Give it a try if you find yourself in my situation.

Opera Mobile is also better about downloading files.
I noticed this issue with the browser too. I installed FireFox mobile and it works great for downloading from Multiupload!
yea i had the same problem. it has something to do with the browser, now i am using dolphin Browser HD and no problems i can download from any website i want. so just download another browser from market.
try dolphin HD. works amazing
Dolphin HD is much slower than Opera Mobile and has trouble with sites like fileserve.

Has anyone been experiencing this issue? I can pretty much download anything in a 'third party' browser like Dolphin HD, but my question is with the stock browser. I'm not a Dolphin fan since that whole "capture you information" issues with them, so I been getting myself use to use the stock browser that came with our SGS2..
I only had my AWESOME phone for only a week.. I came from a HTC G2, which I never had this problem.
How come I can't download anything? It would say download unsuccessful. If I go into downloads and press on the it, it would say "Download Failed. Can not download. The content is not supported on this phone.". I'm trying to download simple MP3s from the Coast to Coast AM site..
I never experienced this issue with my G2 on any browser. On my new SGS2, it can only be downloaded from third party browsers...
Any guesses?
It seems (as I type this post) someone in the G2X forums has also been experiencing this issue HERE.
Download astro file manager and I. Settings enable browser download. It'll let you use stock browser for dl. Its not a bug it happens with most stock browsers.

Use opera mobile, instead of stock, Dolphin, or opera mini.
Works for me every time without fail.

I replied to your post in faq I think yesterday or the other day. You need to press the download button twice. Like you click it once right, then it reloads. Click on "not downloading? Try again" and it will reload again. Then click on download again then download should start.

Hi friends, as we all know, most of the ROMs on xda are on mediafire and a lot of users face a non-resumable download problem on the phones on network breakdowns. The problem now has a solution. And the solution is here :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...dium=organic&utm_term=download+everything+pro
Download everything pro... !
This app helps to download files from mediafire and 4shared. I've been using it since a long time and must say, an excellent app !!!
Some hints :
1) How to use : You can copy and paste the download link in the provide link dialog box to go to the download page and then start the download or you can copy the URL itself and use it in the add download option to start a download directly. You can long press on the download link and use the share link and then select download everything pro from the list on the stock Android browser alternatively.
2) Resuming downloads : In case your network breaks down and you lose internet connection temporarily, you can as usual resume the download. On freshly starting a download, if prompted for captcha, go ahead and type it flawlessly But remember, in case you are resuming a download and you're prompted for a captcha, you need to be careful. Do not type in the captcha and press start download then. This might entirely restart the download. Instead, reboot your device and go to the history and select resume download. This doesn't restart the download but resumes it, even the file won't be corrupted !!!
Hope this app helps all the fellow users ! Use and share the app with your friends. Don't forget to rate it on the play store in case you found it useful to support the developer !

You could use either one. LoaderDroid is almost identical to DownloadEverything. I just like Loader Droid's UI more.
If it isn't working, try the methods in the OP. They are same.
