I want to know which ROM is fast and best... I like Arconium 8.2 interface and speed wise but same time like the MIUI for its best clear Camera... Is there anyway to port MIUI Camera to Arconium? also which Camera is best? GB or ICS? I like to click more of photos and better batterylife... anyone can suggest me any good ROM?
Original Xperia S Rom
For me on ICS the camera was faster than on GB, but on this Rom it´s pretty fast too. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1565990

the virtuous infinity with sense 4full makes very good..
i remember that even the MIUI was great
however, you do not see a big difference.
You'll get the best camera quality with Sense ROMs (both GB & ICS). The next option would be CyanogenMod 7.2.0. The camera will never work as good for AOSP ICS and JB ROMs because the phone wasn't meant to run them by design, in the sense that the available drivers and libraries aren't made for AOSP. They have to be hacked, modified and backported from GB and the resulting quality of photos and video, while decent, is not as good as that with Sense ROMs.
The camera in Jellytime 8.0 works great for me. I have had a few problems with previous builds but the new one works great.
It's a tie between MIUI camera and HTC Sense. If you can get a sense camera, keep it. If you can't (like on a non sense ROM), go with one of the MIUI cameras. I recommend #17 (google it). I think they're pretty close in quality and usefulness.
The MIUI camera doesn't run on certain ICS ROMs, to make it work, you need to go to camera settings and change the size in pixels of the picture. Every time you leave the camera, and get back, you need to change the pixel size (change from 8mp to 6, then back for best size).
In JB go to settings and disable HW overlays, or else you'll get messed up lines of color running through the screen.
In GB you should be completely fine.
Hi,
Anyone have an update?
Some new ROMs, stable and with a good camera?
In some jelly time I have found some bugs or problems with autofocus..
Thank you for your reply..

I have tried various versions of cyanogenmode .But None of it has come to my expectations in terms of camera. As HTC Wilfire S has 5megapixel
Camera its an asset to have that camera. How Can Somebody Compromise with it.
Can Anybody
Hellp me To find the Rom For CyanogenMode having better Camera as the problem is When i Use Flash First the Flash of the Phone Occurs Before the Photo is Clicked there is no proper synchronisation between the to?
HTC camera app is customized for best performance for our phone. Where as there's nothing like that for other NON-Sense roms.
You may not find the same quality with cm roms. You can use camera ics which gives pretty good images to me.

I currently use this RobotoMOD ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1781391) and don't find the pictures any worse than from the stock ROM's camera application.
They may look a bit better, but thats just placebo effect I think

So there is any difference between Camera and Camera ICS? Didn't seem to me (but I can be wrong).
A good camera app is a thing I really miss in CM9

The stock camera in CM9 works fine for me and I don't miss any feature. The quality seems to be the same as in GB Stock Rom also. So what do you miss?
Of course the stockrom's camera is better than the CyanogenMods, eg the CM Camera doesn't have an autofocus ... And the quality's much better...

Back in the days of CM7 I liked my Camera360 which deffo had better image quality and a picture could be taken just by touching the display (now a problem when trying to take a picture of me and a gf, for example).
Hi guys, im going on a trip and need a rom with a fast camera. By fast camera i mean a camera.that doesnt take much time to take a photo ( i believe focussing is what takes long on jb).Im currently on jelly bean alpha 2 and i dont think alpha 3's camera is much better (please correct me if I'm wrong). I have been on cm 9 beta 3, i dont remember the camera though. Is it worth it to go back to 2.3.6 gb with value pack? Could anybody recommend me a good 2.3.6 (flashable, no ODIN) rom with value pack? Or an ics/jb if the camera has the same speed.

No rom has a different cam quality than another. But the gingerbread roms have a full GB camera with all it's features, ICS roms have a semi full camera but it works as good as the GB. The JB roms have a camera without all the features and a few bugs.
I prefer ICS roms as they are faster and smoother than GB roms. And the JB Roms are the fastest and smoothest but with a half bad camera.

Thanks for responding! I am aware of the fact that quality doesn't differ between gb, ics or jb. What i AM looking for is a camera that takes pictures fast. (focussing takes lots of time on jb...

hi thanks for that reply
I have installed at the moment RSK satelite supersense 3.5, because of the camera being 16:9 (full screen)
which roms are they- I am looking for a rom for taking photos and a really good camera and functions.
You could also just experiment with different camera apps..
Plenty of choice on the play store, in most cases you don't have to worry about which Rom either

the apps dont seem to be very good in my opinion.
want something better- not just an app
Not very good how? I'm sure you could find a camera app which suits your needs, there's a huge range out there, often with more features compared to those built in.
Also regardless of which Rom is the 'best' for photography (assuming the camera works in the first place), you're still technically using the Rom's camera app.
At the end of the day you're also limited by the camera hardware, which doesn't change no matter which Rom or app you end up choosing

Does anyone here use a custom rom and have any complaints about the camera? I read that roms don't have support for some extra camera functionality but how much does using custom roms affect it?

If it's a TouchWiz ROM you can use the stock camera app and get full camera quality, if it's not a TW ROM you do not have the framework/drivers for the camera and will get a lot worse quality images

No but there are some on these forums somewhere, fairly grainy and loss of details, quite dark iirc
