Ok this build is extremly fast and stable... instagram works fully 100% no more freezing, black screen and reboots.
edit: bug: Auto rotate is inverted....guess it didnt bake in with the rom, reflashed autorotatefix and all is well.

Yes trust me this is the best ics build that ever been on my phone, and i flash majority of them all, it is very fast, smooth and everything works flawlessly, just flash the rom, autorotate, the latest superuser for root and remove all att junk.

Hey immunity, how did you get superuser to work, it's been so long since I've done that I forgot I keep getting "failed to find instaled su binary"

Anybody having vibration issues? Can't seem to get any vibration at all. Also, I keep getting "Device Management" force closes. Everything else works great though!
Would flashing the t989 uvlc ICS kernel over this cause a potential brick due to it being based around 4.0.3 and this rom being 4.0.4, or just a potential boot loop?

Just Thought id share. The skyrocket roms work on our phone too. Just flashed the Alien ROM just to see. Everything worked fine, granted there was some att crap in wifi settings that is useless to us, but at least we know we can use their stuff too. I also flashed jugs kernel with the rom as Im sure the kernel is different, but maybe not. Anyway, just wanted to let you know. Oh, they just got an ota to 2.3.6 yesterday, ill post the system dump here in a few. Hopefully the devs will move to that base.
*I thought I'd throw a zip similar to what they have together. I think this zip will do the trick. Give it a shot and let me know if auto rotate is still borked. I dont think it will be but I have CM7 setup and working audio so I dont want to ruin that Let me know and Ill fix issues if there is any.

By the way, the Alien ROM for the skyrocket kicks ass on our phone. I flashed it with whatever kernel it comes with and I've noticed a reduction in the stutter.
It does have a an issue with our accelerometer it seems though.

Does this Alien rom have anything special that our rooms don't have? Kind of what to try it out, but not sure if it's worth it. Any other bugs besides the ones stated?

Its the same as what we have. Its in between stock and Juggernaut I'd say. Has reboot options and stuff. Mostly stock. Seems pretty responsive

yes i recently download a rom ,(CM9 alpha1: Android 4.0.3 for Samsung Epic 4G) and i follow the instructions correctly and i love the rom and i want to keep it but i cant play my favorite game tap tap revenge ,there and error that it gives or a bug

Then don't use it. It is an Alpha which means a lot of things won't work. Put your phone on stock or a stable custom TW ROM. Or CM7 is in release candidate so try that.

An Alpha ROM by definition is unapologetically cantankerousness at random for any reason and at any time. The "fix" is to wait for an RC of the CM9 ROM and then revisit this issue at that time. At this point the devs just want to get the core system stable and efficient....or so says me.
A quick trip to the market will find that "tap tap," besides having the 2nd most juvenile name in the history of software, also seems to be suffering wide spread force close problems with any and all versions of Android.
If you really feel the need to yank all of your hair out try contacting the game publisher to see if "tap tap" is ICS compatible in the first place.
Is this really a post? We don't care if something isn't working right for you.

Yes, the app is known to be bugged across several platforms. But it is safe to say that many apps will have difficulty on CM9 being an Alpha. Lots of things are still in development on it. Like Telenav 7 instantly Force closes, but Telenav 6 runs, but may force close occasionally.

This is strictly my opinion, but I'd wait until someone releases a ROM with these minor things worked out. We've got a lot of great devs working on this phone and judging by what we've seen with the skyrocket leaks, it won't be long at all before we see a lot of stuff worth flashing. This one is marked as a base, so I'd wait for some things to be ironed out.

If you've been here long enough you'd know that when you flash a skyrocket rom the rotation is backwards. Now this wasn't a problem when yaldak made a rotation fix for it but sadly it didn't work for jelly bean roms. I've gone ahead and made a rotation fix for the skyrocket jelly bean roms seeing as the jelly bean development for that phone is going blazingly fast. The only thing not working is the camera. I made a flashable zip of it just flash it when you install the rom. I can garuntee you the fix works I've tested it. The zip is attached at the bottom of this thread, there is also a mirror for it. Happy flashing!

lmao someone didnt have their breakfast milk this morning im assuming...
When I first moved to Canada I didn't understand the whole milk in a bag thing.. To me it makes more sense to have it in a carton or jug because you need to put the bag in a special jug to use it anyways..

I know this is off topic... I'm born and rasied Canadian and I've NEVER seen bagged milk, save a carton or jug put into a bag to carry home from the store... I've even worked in restaurants and still, never seen it.

You could also fix build.prop to say t989. Not doing it won't cause any problems. It's mostly an aesthetic thing.

The sensors are in different places on the skyrocket. That's why rotation doesn't work with their kernel. Otherwise they are virtually the same.

Not to stray off topic, but i thought the Skyrocket had a different CPU then the Herc? Therefore wouldnt the Skyrocket kernel not work for our devices even though they are both msm8660s?

Different soc, but happens to have same CPU and gpu. Skyro has built in radio, we dont. Their rotation thing is oriented different than ours... hence the issue

You can, but this fix is for JB ports, not ICS ROMS. Plus you would have to add the right apn settings.

For some reason I can not load any cyanogenmod rom on my device. It gets stuck at the boot animation. I have never had an actual cyanogenmod rom on the device I've always used tw based. Any ideas? I do a "clean" install every single time

Try restarting the download? I sometimes get weird dl speeds of 40kb.. usually 500kb and up
