A bit hard to answer that. There's many to choose from.
I like ARHD ROMs for the stock look.
LeeDrOiD ROMs for different tweaks
These are just 2 of many good ROMs.

go through the threads and see which one you like the most and try it out..the best thing to do is try and test it that way you can make your own mind up
or just look at my sig and that will tell you all

Thanks all , i flash ARHD on my HOX

Yep, ARHD is awesome!
However, the fastest ROM with the best Battery life still is CM9...
http://www.modaco.com/topic/353715-13-05-rom-cyanogenmod-9-endeavor-unleashed-007/
I hope to see a official CM9 thread on XDA soon..

I like leedroid - good battery and Aroma installer for some options (but I waiting for stable CM9, because AOSP-style is magnificent)

the CM9 port I mentioned actually is really stable, it just has some bugs, mostly with the camera :/ .. problem with imagesense chip. However, this is the main reason why I'm going to switch back to ARHD, waiting for a stable CM9, like you said

Yup. Agree with fekle. CM9 is the best rom I'd flashed so far. But I revert back to leedroid Because the sense camera is much better. Try Franco's kernel by the way. Give me excellent battery life compared to stock or other kernels

Ive flashed them all, and I still cant choose my ROM
Somehow they are all the same. None of them stands out. Except the themed ones of course. But I miss the wow factor. Something new. It seems like all the devs (or tweakers?) copy each others work, so we ended up having 4 of the same ROM. Only with different names.
Sorry if I offended anyone, but that is just how I see it. I am no dev.

[Q] ROM with best battery life

Hey guys,
I'm looking for the ROM with the best Battery life...
I'm using the phone for 12-15h a day without charging... an a lot of display usage!
And it is wayne if the ROM is with or without SENSE ... The ROM should just be bugfree
Thanks for answeres
check the link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1603905
go down to "Senseless - ROMS" then just check the reviews there... or you can also try em' all...
C M 9 !!! stock kernel 2 days easy...
cm9 or just try Villain Rom or any rom that has the senseless option. which is most of them anyway.
This is subjective.

So the main culprit for the poor battery life of seemingly all HTC phones, including the One X, is still sense 4.0 and not the tegra 3 chipset?
How ready is cm9?

Well to quote myself, I managed to install cm9. Seems ok to me. I can't speak of the battery life yet, but I'll see.
Guys, PLEASE educate me on what a kernel is and does, what's a custom ROM & what does it have to do with battery life, etc.?
Thanks

Actually that's a very stupid question. Try them out for yourself. It's about personal preferences. Do you like Cyanogenmod or tablet mode for example?

Wow, what a nice attitude. As I said, it's about personal preferences. If you don't have time to flash multiple roms why don't you just stay on stock? There is no thing as the "best ROM", everybody likes and demands different things.

from what i have tried from asop to akop i have found the best one for me to be paranoid 2.0 jellybean 4.1.1 but that's just me

How about you at least explain what you want from the ROM? Do you want speed, do you want battery life, do you want customization, are you after stability, what is it that you want? If you just ask a general question "what's the best" then nobody can give an answer because that is purely a matter of preference.
paranoid is the best imo... full of personalizations and stuffs! i love it but now i'm on sense, the reason we all bought the HOX :victory:

Alright, I dont mean to thread jack, but I will anyways. Don't wanna start another thread for a question so similar. Maybe I missed a thread or something, so can you guys help me out?
What rom/kernal combo do you guys find to have the best performance? I don't really care about the battery but I also don't want a fried CPU. I'm currently running the Viper/beastmode combo.
Oh, one more question. Any cure for my flashaholic syndrome yet?

Try each and every single ROM and kernel, I did that and partially cured my 'flashaholic syndrome'. Just pure trial and error for me.
I need India RUU 2.17. Could anyone help? Thanks.
Fo me the best one is Android Revolution HD 12.0

Try RDMIUI JB latest edition . Integrated LBE security . Compatible with most applications. Use Nova launcher or any other you like.

Recommend a ROM

Later today I'll be trading my Galaxy Nexus for a One X. Of course the first thing I'll be doing is to dev unlock and get flashing.
I don't like Sense so ideally I'd like to use a CM10 based ROM or at least a de-sensed ROM. I would like something relatively stable. I've had a quick look at what's on offer here in the forums but unfortunately don't have time to read through all the replies to figure out just how stable the ROMs may be.
It would be extremely helpful if someone could recommend a ROM based on this information and maybe give me a brief outline of any bugs. Any information at all is helpful - it's a bit overwhelming coming to a new device as I'm sure many of you have experienced before.
Many thanks in advance.

Well the one x is a big phone, so try paranoid android... It's cm10,it's stable and it's pretty cool if you can display the tablet versions of the apps und resize all apps to your liking...

If you are into customizations, I would recommend ViperX based on 4.0.4 with sense removed in aroma installer.
I am currently on TeamNDVRu's cm10 a12 jb and really happy about it.

Other than those stated In OP, my wifi strength is a bit low. But doesn't bother me. Battery is good for moderate use, phone calls, emails, xda etc. No gaming for me. Give it a try. There are also other CM10 roms available if you don't like it.

Try ARHD with ST ? Or CoreDroid or Viper ? I personally highly recommend ARHD with ST unless you want full customizations ...

I personally love the work of Owain94 - CM10 Domination ROM build 6 with paranoid customization and for the kernel used either faux or ncx!
Been using it for quite sometime the only instability is the soft reset that happens on the device but overall its a great ROM!
What about jelly bean rom, what are u guys recommend?, all i need is all the vital function is works, like camera

Running the same ROM and loving it. :good:
Currently running CM10 a12 by Tbalden. Only minor issues are that the phone overheats sometimes and CPU values don't seem to stick. Seems fine otherwise.

If it has the same base, just install the new version on top using cwm and without superwipe. If it's a new base, superwipe is recommended and you'll also need to flash the boot.img.

I think best camera is in Tbaldens JB/CM10 ROM( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1786696 )...
But its still poor compared to the Sense camera...And if you used Onexed camera mod it is day and night difference, sadly but true.:/
I tryed al rooms and I can say renovate room 5.2.0 is the best, has the most feature included (camera mode, sound mode etc.) Also a excellent battery life combined with the faux kernal , after 2 hours and a half on standby ( checked 3-4 times the clock ) I still had 100% battery .and you can install without sense if you want .

[Q] Basic & simple & good battery ROM (looking for)

Hello!
some month ago gave my father a phone and put one of the roms I saw in xda .. im not sure, maybe stock ROM.
I can not try much because my father currently uses the phone.
What ROM you recommend?
I look for simple ROM, like MIUI or even more, as Windows Phone or something... also the with long battery life. I tried changing the governor in his ROM but I notice lag ...
He do not use Internet: Just call and sometime bluetooth to connect the phone to the car.
Thanx for your reply!
I use MIUI v4 the latest one and it gives me pretty great battery life. You can also try cm9... It's pretty battery friendly too.

Custom Rom

Hi. Im pretty much a newbie with all things android. I have just updated my HTC ONE X (HTC__622) to the official jelly bean update. And I wanted to root my phone and apply a custom rom to it. I have been browsing the forums but its just got me more confused on which rom to use. Can someone suggest a good rom for battery, stability with camera, wifi and the usual stuff working fine.?? Also im a big fan of the Stock android People and Dialer app.. So which roms support that? Can I get that with Sense rom too?.. Thanks.. Eagerly awaiting to flash
I've settled on OrDroid (now on version 11.3) but the ARHD one is also good. These are both Sense ROMS that generally look stock but arent. Def a good start both fast and stable.
Hello,
You can root your device using the method given on htcdev.com. One of the simplest and most trusted methods.
As for ROMs, Youll get maximum battery life and stability on sense ROMs only. Performance, battery and stability wise sense ROMs a way better than AOSP ROMs. So I would suggest sense ROMs.
But its upto your taste and liking in the end!

You can not root your device on the htcdev site !!! You can only unlock the bootloader there, it gives you the right to flash a custom recovery and therefore custom roms !!! Please give the proper info
thanks guys for ur help. yes i have unlocked the bootloader from htc dev, installed cwm and rooted via superuser.zip...
before ur suggestion of ordroid or arhd i tried out renovate. and now im downloading ordroid.... read somewhere its more stable.
also im missing the android stock people's app and the dialer with full screen calling (i have seen screenshots of it on CM10) on these sense rom.
i really dont want to miss out on the sense cam and stability... can anyone suggest any mods for the aosp ppl app or fullscreen calling and dialer ??
Know some devs have put the sense camera on non sense Roms like miui x (lyapota camera one). I guess if you are using renovate you are on a jb hboot so that may be no good but worth looking around.

hey thanks for the info. I'll definately look at miui.... n btw i am on ordroid now switched almost 4 roms yesterday :
renovate
cm10
4.2 jb ( really liked the rom but i missed my sense cam and smart dial)
ordroid
If you like the sense smart dial then there are similar apps that are good when not on sense. Dialer one is the first that comes up on play search and it has some similar features.
Enjoy

I was up till late last night flashing about 4 different Roms lol. Blade is fast as and I'm happr for the minute. I'm a fan of miui after running it on previous devices. ideally id like sense based rom with cm/solo custimisation. Like team viper ics There is a hell of a lot of Roms so ill keep looking.
