Where might I get the T999_UVDMD5 (4.1.2) Stock Kernel? I just want it as a recovery option in case I dont want to flash an entire rom, and want to try out other Kernels.
I am running Root66 if this helps. I've checked several threads but I cant find anything on it. I was hoping someone here had it.
I thought there was a thread, ill try to find it.

Man I feel stupid now. We'll just do it that way, or alternatively I'll do a complete backup in TB and CWM and then if **** breaks, I'll just restore it and my phone will be none the worse.

First off, hello.
My name is Joel, new to posting here but normally lurk around.
I have a question about the Chaos Rom, is it comptiple with Sprint SPH-L710 Galaxy S3 running stock 4.1.2? i read all over the topic but could not find a list of compatible devices ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38005934&postcount=3 )
If not what are some recommended Roms, i dont really want CM.
Hope this is the right place to post, if not Please let me know, im having a hard time finding my way around all of these sub forums haha.
That ROM is for the International s3 the I9300 if you flash any ROM from that section you will hard brick your phone.

DO NOT FLASH this rom as I do not know if it will go perfectly or catch your phone on fire. I take no responsibility for your actions.
With that said, here it is 4.3 for the N7100 and I was hoping that a developer would be able to port it. Judging from the discussion I have been reading Knox is included and causes some problems with root but you can disable Knox from your app manager. Anyone with porting experience care to weigh in?

Well maybe we'll have ours soon.
I tried flashing a couple ROMs with this base and all they did was get as far as the boot screen, and then the phone vibrated in a pattern similar to Morse code lol XD I went to recovery and restored my last ROM and all was well. I hope we see a port soon!

My wife's phone is downloading a114mb update right now. I was just messing around and was surprised to see something start downloading.
Edit - Looks like some new bloat called Lookout was installed. Unless that was always on here. It's a system app so all I can do is disable it.
Lookout was on mine when purchased Saturday (12/6). Is there an update log?

Hey guys we need somebody to download the update on their phone and upload it. Just DO NOT install it yet because the file will be deleted once you do. I think it's stored in a security or cache folder somewhere, I forget exactly.

Honestly I haven't read the changelog feature update list from Samsung or Sprint but I can say that it may bring some hidden suprises.... and not the good kind. I could be wrong but if you're like many people here at XDA, you might want to hold off until more information is available from somebody who can give more details on what this OTA contains and how it will effect our phones. These days carriers are getting more and more sneaky.
I have update ready also. So going to backup. I have fake system status enabled. Im on echo rom. When I get home this evening Im going to try to download and install on to0 of echo rom. Is this a good idea? Or should I flash stock firmware take update and hopefully reroot ect.
---------- Post added at 12:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:05 PM ----------
114mb its a small update. The connection issues this phone has im at the point of not caring if It breaks root permanently. Has anyone taken update and rerooted? Three blocks from a tower and struggles to hold lte.

If someone can walk me through it. I will download and upload to dropbox. For someone to do their magic.

Dang Tx now you got me a little cautious. Maybe Ill take your advice and wait. Let the change log reveal the suprises.
gear vr update
This update is to enable the phone to work with the Gear VR device and download oculus software
Avatar installed after update
It installed Avatar in voice mail.. (animated voice mail.. seriously !!!)
Reduced RAM usage.. previously it was around 2.3-2.5/2.7 gb now it always under 2 gigs like .. 1.7/2.7 .. yeh..

Sprint Update
Hopefully this fixes the Wi-Fi issues, and adds more good stuff.
Looks like an stability update that Verizon T-Mobile n att have
Sent from my SM-N910P using XDA Premium HD app
I installed the update and it did nothing in the way of fixing the slow LTE/SPARK speeds. So it was a useless update to me. I have anew N4 arriving tomorrow from Sprint, maybe Ill be one of the lucky ones and get one that does not have the slow issue. Seems a handful of models out there don't have the slow data speeds. I wish they would address this issue before other lower priority issues.
So far this isn't available through Kies. I'm new to using Kies, should I expect it to become available any time soon? (because my phone is rooted it won't even check for OTA updates.)
Seems to fix all the lag problems I was having. But I already ordered a replacement. ?
