I wood really like a rom which is just plain android (no htc sense ui). As I would like to use launcher pro beta as my home. Or even better a method of removing sense ui from stock rom.
Thanks
Dion
I would suggest you try one of the Froyo roms if you are wanting a rom without sense ui.

why would you want a nexus one :s its an ugly desire with less ram
In retrospect, i would probably have chosen the nexus too, just for the quicker release of OTA updates from Google. But with this in mind, and when the Desire officially receives the Froyo update, wouldn't updates be released quicker through HTC if they get rid of sense ui?...

I hate sense to. Its the stupiest of all home screen. But installing anything else means rooting which I dont like just now.
It is impossible to use any ROM except the stock ROM on a non-rooted desire.

Wow, why get a phone with Sense if you're going to complain?
Try out adw launcher or the stock Nexus One launcher us available for download as well. You do lose all things Sense if you use it though.

I found the stock launcher here and installed it on my Desire and used it with no problems, you can also find the really cool gallery app from the Nexus One here which has some really cool features that I wish HTC hadn't taken out ie date/location grouping.

I don't hate sense. I do hate the sense homescreen which i have replaced by launcherpro. But the facebook integration and the interface changes do make an addition imo! It could be smoother though ,hope that changes in 2.2
I am VERY new to the whole Android thing, so I'm very sorry if this is a stupid question. But if I understand correctly what ROMs are, is there some way to download a ROM that will turn my DZ into the same OS as a Droid X? To make it look the same?
Thanks in advance for help.
As far as a ROM goes, someone would have to develop a port for use on the G2. It's certainly possible but probably not likely.
If you just want to make it look and behave like the X, there are home replacement apps on the market with more customizable options than the stock launcher. I use ADW Launcher, myself.

How do I use these launchers
Once it's downloaded and you press your home button, it will ask you which program you want to use to complete the action complete with an option to pick it as the default.
If you want to switch back and forth, there's an app called Home Switcher available on the market. I don't really use it since I know which launcher I prefer and just stick with it.
I like ADW but Launcher Pro is a popular choice.
Try a market search for Droid X theme and see if one of the luanchers already has a skin/theme to suit your needs. Otherwise, I think customizing it personally is the most fun.

This sounds awesome! Does it include the sense widgets also? I love the sense calendar and calendar widgets. friend stream is also cool I can do without the rest of sense. This sounds just like my rom! I'll give it a try tonight.
Best of both worlds indeed! Fast and smooth too. Well done!

I can do without the widgets. does the calendar app pull in facebook data via htc sense facebook? That is the one thing I love about sense.

All of those are included. I tried to get rid of ALL of the sense and figured I can slowly add back based on demand. It will always be senseless though, so it will only include a few of the most popular apps and widgets from sense... And for the record I almost left the sense calendar...haha

Is it too much if I asked for the looping screen
I was so obsessed with new HTC One X and started thinking to buy it. But like many others I have just bought GS2 few months ago and still under the contract.
So here is the steps how you get htc one series (Sense 4) interface on your galaxy s2. I have searched a bit and compile these things for interested people.
I have it set up on CM 7.2. (People call it minimal and simplistic rom but it has got one killer feature “theme chooser” that makes it possible to look your device UI look like anything.)
So before you look further, you have to have CM 7 running on your device.
Step 1 – Download and extract this folder http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17952927/HTC One X on SGS2/sense4.rar
Step 2 – Install NTsense.apk (credit to nhnt11) and apply it from theme chooser
Step 3 –Download and Install Go launcher ex from play store https://play.google.com/store/search?q=go+launcher+ex&c=apps
Step 4 – Download and install this theme for go launcher (paid) and apply https://play.google.com/store/apps/...vbS5nYXUuZ28ubGF1bmNoZXJleC50aGVtZS5zZW5zZSJd
Step 5 – Download and install fancy widgets https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.anddoes.fancywidgets&feature=search_result
Step 6 – If you have installed it for the first time then go in fancy widgets app>Appearance settings>Clock skins>All and download any skin you like. This will create a folder Android/data/fancywidgets/clockskins in your sd card. Find the “H7CSlateClock” folder from the folder I have shared and put it under clockskins. Apply widget and select the H7Cslateclock skin.
Step 7 – Download and install magiclocker main app https://play.google.com/store/apps/...xLDEsIm1vYmkubG9ja3NjcmVlbi5tYWdpY2xvY2tlciJd
Step 8 – Download and install sense3.0 magic locker theme and apply it https://play.google.com/store/apps/...tYWdpY2xvY2tlci50aGVtZS5mcmVlLm1sLnNlbmNlMyJd
Step 9 – find the sense 4 wallpapers and ringtones in the shared folder and use whatever you like.
Step 10 - Enjoy
Note – You have to do a bit of workaround with magic locker as it will divert you to its own home replacement forcibly but then you can change it under the magic locker settings.
Use circular transition under go launcher settings to make it more SENSible.
So do you still need HTC One X. I don't think so. It just saved you a few hundread dollars, isn't it?
PLEASE DONATE IF YOU LIKE MY WORK OR AT LEAST HIT THANKS

But you don't change your phone every now and then. BTW HTC One XL is dual core phone. As far as ICS is concern, I don't find a single stable and fast ROM as compare to GB ROMS. Yes not even Samsung official ICS. Anyway its a matter of perception.
I haven't tried it on CM 9 though. Did you try it?

odex stock LPQ is stable... Go launcher is laggy, but it is GO ICS bugs only, try it w/ Apex launcher (deoxed versions are unstable only)
Perfect on Samsung Galaxy Ace
+1. Loving it more than ICS theme.

One xl is dual but the op says one x. And here in europe thats gonna be a quad! Same here, found no ICS that can match GB. And i think Sense 4.0 i so much better then stock ICS look...i dont like it at all and its something you really can get tired of fast.

cool, then use it till you buy new HTC one x.
I wanted to mention sense 4 only but thought it would be more picky if I mention one x.
BTW for the lag in go launcher, you can set it to smooth in the settings. I just tested this on latest cm9 nightly and its all good for me.
Going back GB once again.

I'm currently using a ICS rom, with HTC 4 overlay.
the best ROM I have ever used, including CM7 and MIUI.
I'm using it on a Desire Z which will probs never get an official ICS update, and definitely not anything further than Sense 3.0, if it makes it that far.
ICS does not need dual core, and can be exceedingly stable, if you take out bored programmers paid to do it, and put in enthusiasts.

It is very good to use even without swiping.. For normal typing
I like this keyboard the best

SwiftKey is the one keyboard that consistently has the best suggestions and auto correct for me. I've used Swype before for a few months but found on a whole it was pretty inaccurate. Many times while Swyping, words did not make sense regarding the context and content of a sentence and were plainly wrong.
Regarding the beta "SwiftKey Flow" there is still work and polish to be done. As it stands now I can type quicker in standard SwiftKey than both Swype and "Flow". Since SwiftKey has recognised my mannerisms I usually only have to type a few letters of each word, if at all, before it suggests it.

I'll go with AOSP's 4.2 keyboard. it is nice and it consumes only 12mb of ram when in use.
SwiftKey is my favourite nd will never be replaced with another keyboard

Swype is truly awful. It doesn't double well. The 4.2 swyping is great too. And you can use it normally if you don't want to sywpe
Sent from my One V using Tapatalk 2
simon and all swyp haters, with consumption of 30 ram only, and consatant new features, there is no keyboard as good as swype "IN SWYPNG ONLY"
TOUCH PAL V5, is the only competitionto swype, believe me i can type without looking and still send the message correctly
try it
Thanks, its actually only available only to "VIP" customers so its fantastic that you've included an apk. Thanks again.
