Hi
So I did a search but seems I can only find old threads with this problem. Google Music keep telling me I should check my connection.
At the moment I don't even have wifi only sync on. Playback works fine (with songs I don't have offline, that has to be streamed). For what it's worth I've tried running both with wifi and 3g turned off one at a time and there's not trouble with either.
Running ARHD 5.1.1 (cleaned with ROM Cleaner).
Google Music offline sync issue
Got the same problem. Not sure what the issue is but very annoying.
Running Vicious JB v3 ROM.

Hi there, (This applies to HTC ONE X Google Play Music Sync issue)
I had same issue and If you already have not done this, I resolved my issue by following the below steps; (My apologies if you have already tried this)
Go in settings>Accounts & Sync> > Make sure Auto Sync is ON> Once ON, Tap on Google> Tap on your linked email account > In the list of all the Google services and Apps, make sure Google Play Music is Active and Synced.
If you do not want to have Auto Sync ON, still follow the above steps (leaving Auto Sync Off) and Tap on Google Play Music to Sync it manually.
My understanding is that 'Refresh' (Google Play Music> Settings> Refresh) does not work in Google Play Music app itself unless the Auto Sync is On.
I hope the above is helpful. My music is syncing now and have not noticed and further issue.
Thanks.
Running Android 4.1.1 (HTC Sense 4+)
#### I understand the post is quite old but since there were no solutions posted, I am updating the solution for others having same issue #####

So the story goes - I'm actually really pleased with the ROM and all, but there are a few things bugging me which I can't seem to handle myself - First off, there is osmething keeping the phone awake 100% of the time, it seems to be a process called *wakelock* (something with the Calendar and al of the HTC services used by it), and there's no way for me to control it and telling it to stop the phone staying awake all the time..
Second - I can't seem to get some of my contacts to have the option to send a message to them on Whatsapp directly from the People widget (On some of them it worked flawlessly and automatically, on others it won't work at all) - Even after unlinking and re-linking the contact.. What gives!?
Thanks
Wakelock could remain on when the calendar app can't find the complete its sync. Try clearing calendar data from and Google services framework and let it sync again. Try googling what to do when calendar can't sync if this doesn't help.
Verizon Galaxy Nexus running 4.0.2 has a weird issue with Google Music where it will 1) sync a album that i did not check. When I go to "make available offline" it is checked so I uncheck it. However it does not appear that the phone deletes the songs it did download before i unchecked it. Tried "refresh" from settings which causes music to check the album again on its own and download it. Anyone else have this issue? Any suggestions?
Hey, I am having some issues with the ICS 4.0.3 CM9, b0.2.6 ROM working with the Google Music app and getting Exchange on it.
Google Music seems to only want to play local music on my phone, whenever I try to stream a song, the Music app FCs. I have tried uninstalling it, clearing data, but still having the same issue. I've had this problem since the b0.2.5, the only thing I haven't tried is a fresh install with b0.2.6.
With the Email app, whenever I try to setup my exchange account, it keeps FC after I try saving the settings for my account (basically says "Exchange has FC" or something of that nature).
I also noticed that browser sync isn't working either under Accounts -> Google.
I searched around and couldn't find anything, and can't post on the dev forum so I figured this would be the best place. I also realize that this is a beta ROM, I was just wondering if these issues are known (I searched the original ROM thread and couldn't find anything that would answer my questions) or maybe there is something messed up with my installation. Anyways, thanks in advance for any help!
Has anyone else been experiencing the following? Any ideas on how to address it beyond simply using a different app or not using the feature?
I got around to syncing a ton of music into the Google Play Music and then proceeded to sync down to my GNex. I've been having issues ever since with the Play Music app as it has now three times (at least that I've caught it doing so) in the last month or so completely dumped all my downloaded music and proceeded to re-sync and download the music all over again. Thankfully, it only downloads over a wifi connection as I don't have an unlimited data plan and have it syncing approximately 9 GB of music, but the constant downloading is also a huge battery drain.
I imagine transferring the files via cable rather than using the Play Music feature to sync would otherwise address the issue, but doesn't exactly address the root cause and makes what should be a good feature utterly worthless.
Anyway, thanks for any help in advance.
Apologies if this is in the wrong place, please feel free to move it around!
I've updated my Nexus to JB and all is well. I've never really used the music app, but in preparation for my Nexus 7 arriving, I've done the "hack" to allow Google Music access from the UK - it's currently uploading my music as I type.
On my device though, I can't see it. The help says I should be prompted for which account to use, but this doesn't seem to happen. I've also checked under "Accounts and Sync" for my google account, and all looks happy (except no option for music is even listed).
Can anyone advise what I need to do to get it working?
Actually, I managed to use the hack too, but still have the same problem. I think you answered to yourself. It's a hack..so it's suppose maybe not to be fully operational.
I've been using Google Music in the UK more or less since it lauched & it works perfectly fine for me.
Under settings in the Music App does it list a Google Play Account? (Should be at the very top)
I'm using Google Music for a few month now as well and had a similar problem.
Try clearing the cache of the Music App. At least that solved the problem for me that a few albums where not showing on my phone.
download Titanium backup. go to your apps defrost Google music
Thanks everyone, I did a "clear data" and it's showing stuff now
