Hi there!
Is the blue color on most pictures taken with the phone is a software or hardware issue?
If software, is there any temporary fix (such as manual settings) or we have to wait for HTC?
Because it's the only reason I'm not fully wanting this device
It's a software problem. Both the USA One X and the One S have the same sensor and lens but don't have the same problem. Photos are cleaner, have less noise and a more accurate white balance.
Hopefully they fix it soon.

It's a software problem. I guess you can use the manual settings yes. Umm, it's in the settings. White balance.

Unfortunately the default WB settings are not very accurate either. The daylight setting is too warm.

Try another camera app?
I don't have the device, I'm only looking on reviews for now.
Thanks, I hope there will be a fix.
If you mean the chromatic aberration or the purple fringing issues, then it's hardware related. It's a mobile phone not a DSLR after all.
If you're not sure about what the above terms mean, use Wikipedia.

Hello,
I'm used to use BerryBuzz on my Blackberry, which it think is a nice piece of software... Is there any similar for our Desires? I've tried Missed Call but not working...
I wish I could have a specific color for missed calls, another for SMS or emails... Are the LEDs on Desires handling multi colors?
Theres a free utility that apparently does something like that http://downloadandroid.info/download/Blink.apk

Did you try that, or just copied? I'm pretty sure that this app is not working on Eclair...
Testing it right now... I'll keep you informed.. Thanks!
Off track, What Berry are u using? Mine having a Bold 9000 and have BerryBuzz too, but I am experiencing a problem, the LED blinks so fast for a missed call/text, and there is no option to set an interval time? I think it's a battery hogger. So, Do you have the same problem or you found some settings to fix it? I m talknig about version 3.0.59.
Thnx
I have yet to find anything either.. I'm looking to replace "PhoneAlarm" reminder functionality from Windows Mobile. Locale eh, mostly does the profile changes, with some stuff missing.. but right now if I miss a call, email (K9), etc, no reminders..

Hi, I got an old 8310, berrybuzz latest version... os 4.5.0. You can change the settings into options, berrybuzz.. once opened go on the berrybuzz settings, upper corner near the "?". You should find the settings your looking for there.
Well, returning to the LED notification, Blink.apk doesn't work... sorry but thank you for the try
I too would like something like BerryBuzz, really made me like my Curve 8900
Same situation here... so far nothing is working including Blink. It was the first app I tried.

Does the led even flash different colors? It might not be like the nexus trackball

It definitely goes different colours, but perhaps you need root for this to work.

wot colours does it do?
i only seen orange and green so far
i had this working for my G1 fine, had blue for when one person text me, green for another, red for another etc etc
think this might be a problem with the desire not the android 2.1 (could be wrong)
i have rooted my desire and it wont allow me to change the notification colour, will keep you updated if i find a solution
Neither did the nexus one till someone made an application for it

I think the Desire only has a bi colour LED - ie RED or Green. Orange would therefore be the only other colour available

But many of the applications that change the color of the LED do not also obey when you select the red color (which brings). Will not it be a problem of software?
It is very important for my that changes the color of the LED and if it is confirmed that the led is two-color I buy myself a nexus one and to sell the htc desire

This was the same issue for the Windows based HD2 - from my understanding the LED notificiations are "hardware driven", therefore no software will allow you to change the colour. To date thi shas not been acheived on the HD2, and as the desire hardware is very similar, i doubt it will be possible on the Desire.
So, now that Telus has released the Desire HD, I'm finally seriously thinking about giving up my N1.
Just curious about the notification LED. Obviously it's not going to be as bright or large as the N1, but how is it in general? Noticeable? Good size? Customizable with apps or ROMS (I will be moving to CM7 asap on it)?
Just curious...

Seems like it does. I've also seen videos that briefly show it flashing. But I haven't really seen a video with a good look at it, hence my question...
interesting...i just got the phone yesterday. It does seem to have an LED....doesn't work for me on emails though....that's why i thought it didnt have one!
It works alright, but the view angles are limited because it's behind the grille. If you look at it straight on, it's bright enough.
And you might want to have yours checked if the LED does not work, try *#*#3424#*#* and choose LED test.
I found this

Thx to Niko001
It is a app that give you the smart notifications from the moto x :victory:
And it works great.
Is have tested it.
Works only on Google play edtion 4.3
But mabey on sens rom to. But thit not test that
Insctructions

Any pics on what it looks like when up and running?
Since we don't have super AMOLED, wouldn't this be a huge battery drain?

not realy screen is on for a 10 or 15 sec.
this is how it looks like. When you push the icon of the notification you see from it is
The whole screen would light up as black instead of being off like Amoled. I don't think LCD's can take full advantage of this feature
I think notifierpro is the best app for this task. The free lite version works awesome.
All they need is a setting to set a timeout. I use KnockĀ² currently and its set to 30seconds. I use it mainly at work to see if a message is worth grabbing my phone for.

Yeah worked fine... but it is 4.3 and above only. Meaning it only will work on the GE ROM or phone.
He needs to change his target API to hide it from those not 4.3

It can, the battery drain is significantly higher than an AMOLED screen.
I'm fine with keeping the extra battery life and having the LED. (Dashclock helps on the lock screen).
The Moto X benefits the most by far from this because of a few reasons.
1.) Contextual low-power processor
2.) AMOLED screen
3.) It doesn't have a notification LED to begin with.
i think it is what you personal perfer or like. I thougt nice app let's share. For those ho want it.
Just had a training for my Samsung care point to maintain my license. And had the same explanation of diferents beteween AMOLED, Super AMOLED and LCD.
I hope to get a re traing for HTC to.
I have installed it on my viper Rom. Works perfect. But then I am getting force closes error on gmail. When I disable it. Gmail works fine. But when I enable it. It gives me force close error. Any solution?

Can someone confirm whether they can get different colours other than green on the led please? I really rely on led manager for notifying me and it doesn't work. I appreciate that it may not be compatible yet so I installed an led tester and used HTC diagnostics in safe mode and I only get green!!
Thanks

I'm pretty sure this is a hardware limitation of the LED.
I had done some searching when I couldn't get LightFlow to work, and if I understand what I read correctly, HTC uses LEDs that can only produce a few colors and also has them controlled or locked in a way that prevents most of the applications from being able to access them.
I have not yet been able to get any of the apps that I'd like to be able to access the LED to be able to do so properly. PhoneAlarm can't and Textra, the app I am using for text messaging also can't.
If you've got an app that is able to access the LED and control alerts in even three colors, that's something I'd be interested in. You refer to the app two different ways--"LED Notifier" above, but in the original post you referred to it as "LED Manager." Checking the Google Play Store I see an app called "Contact LED Notifier." Is this the app that you have generating the three different colors?
Thanks!
Awesome phone, but still no RGB led? Ponderous. Effing ponderous.

LED Manager does work but it only gives one colour - Green. Using the diagnotics test I get 3 colours. This is a deal breaker for me and I'm returning the phone. It never occurred to me that HTC would build such a basic notifier.

Thanks.
I have different notifiers also able to notify with just the green color.
I'm very pleased with the phone in pretty much all other respects, and this is not enough of an issue for me to return the phone. But it is really surprising that HTC would choose to cut this particular corner on their flagship phone, especially in light of the fact that I wouldn't think that a more versatile LED would have added very much to the manufacturing cost of the phone.
Hi!
I'm having a great problem with my D855 (16 Gb). When I bought the phone, I had some camera problems, like a lot of colored pixels all over the picture (only rear facing camera). It disappeared suddenly, but now it has returned. I don't know how to solve it. It's a pity, because I can't take any decent picture. How can i solve it?
P.D: I'm running AndroidNow 7.2, but I'm having this problem with any kind of ROM (Stock or AOSP)
Might be noise, caused by high iso settings. That is perfectly normal. Are you shooting in low light or high iso?
It could also be that the camera sensor is suffering from hot pixels, but those don't usually appear in high amounts.
If you'd upload a sample picture it would be easier for us to judge.

It's more clear in low light situations, but it's too obvious in low light situations. I've tried even factory reset and ROM change, but it doesn't work

As you can see, it appears in "stripes", so I think it might be a problem with the camera controller (you're saying it's not depending on the rom). I'd contact LG to get the device replaced.
I tried but it's only happening with the ROM I'm using (AndroidNow)
Would you please help me? I need the camera for work T.T

Earlier you said it was happening even with stock. It's def a camera driver/hardware issue. You'll need to have it looked at
