Dude, it's possible.
Even though it's from Armv7 (Galaxy SII) it's still possible to port.
(You will need lots of time & patience)
A friend of mine just helped me out

It seems like there's no reason to port it. It's just another customized CM9 (ICS) ROM.
If it were something unique, I would try to port it
Anyways, I'm still busy with other huge projects soon to come.
So stay tuned and then maybe I'll have free time to port some random stuff LOL

U can just build the tablet.mode for our existing ics
There is a guide in the credits section

true, but that problably won't happen neither..
they think people that buy these phone don't care about android version//
Hey...y can't we just try for it!!??
And it'll be very easy for Mclaw and team if Samsung releases its ICS sources of its camera and all...
So guys just give a try...u don't have to loose anything..just a minute...
C'mon guys..!!!
Ace,fit and mini forums already started to sign this ..never saw a single Geo name on that!!

I signed it and everyone should do it too.
I like ICS for gio and respect a lot the work of GalaxyICS members, but official sources would help them a lot with their work.
So sign it. If you do, something may happen. If you don't sign, nothing will...
I signed it and it's a good cause, but I'm very skeptical over this. They are very slow to release updates even to their previous flagships.. S II just got its official update not long ago, S and S+ got nothing (some lame value pack started rolling in Korea though). I'm afraid our budget phones are not on the list and will not be, too much work for them.
Guys share it everywhere u can.....

I think this patch has to be integrated in a ROM build, not as separate flashable zip, if this is the case then i have a big doubt it will be ported, but what do I know
I hope this lockscreen will catch someone(a developer)'s attention

[Q] [Port] 1 tester needed

Hey guys,
sorry if it is stupid question, but I have ported JOYOS 1.1.9 to this device.
Problem: My phone is in a brick and was sent yesterday to the repair centre and I hope they will repair it. But I cannot test the rom now, so i dont think it is fair to throw it in public now.
Question: Is there someone who will test my rom, since i am not capable to test it myself? I understand if you do not want to, bcuz maybe your phone will be damaged, like mine, but i would really appreciate it, and add a nice 'thanks saying' in the rom.
Ofcourse i am not responsible for any damage to your phone
Thanks in advanced already!
Bye people at XDA Gio General section
I am available as a tester
But eh did this ROM cause the brick or something else?
Cause I won't test a phone bricking ROM :/
No, brick wasn't created by this ROM. Thanks that u want to be my tester, but first voetbalremco will take a look at the rom (I hope at least, but he has exams so he cant be too busy with developing right now). If he doesnt find any mistakes i will sent you a download link in PM. but i'm Uploading....... right now, and it takes looooooonggggg......
And sorry, but you have to wait a little longer: sir voetbalremco found huge mistakes in updater script :s im soo n00by bussy :s

Hey, I ported the 1.2.0 version to our Gio 3 days ago.
I fixed most bugs but with 2 problems left.
The USB Tether doesn't work (but can use the Wired Tether )and the Keyboard backlight has some problem (also can use some third party apps to disable the backlight).
I suggest that you work on the C8650 version. It will be better.

nims11 have ported it to ace
Sooo... Youu need dev-help when you've got no boot, and don't know what you're doing???? -_-
Yeah... We always port from nims... Port from the actual device! YEESH...
It'll be fresh, and it represents that you know what you're doing!
Have you ever wondered how nims and all the other devs ported ARMv7 to ARMv6? GO ASK THEM!
When I asked them, they gave me no reply. Simply because they assumed i was a noob who loved to port ROMs... Actually I was very curious at the time, and I knew this is possible. I kept asking a bunch of devs. No reply. Finally I dug up a few old threads that included a Port that was from ARMv7 to our ARMv6 devices.
I asked him (CoolCatGetHome) and he told me! Literally! LOL I had no idea what he was talking about. About 1-2 months later I went back the that thread. Now I understood it! It was like something "snapped" in my brain! Then I asked nims again, but this time I explained to him that I knew what to do but I need extra info... He helped me sooo much and gave me lots of infos. I eventually found out that most of my friends knew this... I thought this was some top secret thing LOL (Because I was new and all). One of my friends at LG OP1 really expanded this method of porting, so im very grateful to him (dhk)
I'm extremely grateful to dhk, CoolCatGetHome, kssood, nims11, and all TeamCooper members for explaining this to me!
The point is; find out what you're dealing with, you to have to explain to the Dev what you know about this method (for proof). Or not, they'll just think you're a noob and dev-wannabe...
