Your device is running a yakjuxw build, which has not been updated to 4.0.4 yet. The only (GSM) builds that have been updated so far are yakju, takju and yakjuzs. So pushing the "check now" button will not do anything for you.
If you want to flash yakju or takju, see here.
Otherwise, I update this thread as soon as I see any updates for any of the builds.

How much time do you think it will take for ICL53F to get 4.0.4 ?
Could it take months ?
^ could take minutes, days, weeks, months. no one can really tell. if you really want 4.0.4 just follow what efrant mentioned.
Thanks.......Good Info

am I missing something :S? imm76k on gsm yakju

Hi,
I can't find out witch version my galaxy nexus is ,
It has to be an GSM international yakju but the
But the build number(imm76k) is for the Verizon cdma,
Judging by the Baseband number(I9250xxla2) it should have the imm76i, but it doesn't .
I had a Samsung galaxy s vibrant before this one so I'm
More or less familiar with android flashing and rooting. But I have no clue on what to do next .I wanted to root it, instal cwm and flash a 4.1 official rom
I searched around the net and the forums but found almost nothing.
IMM76K is the 4.0.4 for the non-yakju variants so you must be running one of those.
If you want the official 4.1.1 you can either flash the takju/yakju factory image for 4.0.4 and wait for the OTA or update to 4.1.1 manually.
OR you can wait until the factory image for 4.1.1 is available and flash that.

Yes, it looks like some devices are shipping with yakju IMM76K. Not sure why, but it seems that they are not getting the update right away. If you just bought your device, best is to just flash yakju JRO03C from Google's site.

takju or Yakju?

When my new Galaxy Nexus arrives, how can I find out if it needs a takju or Yakju update?!
Just want to download and prepare everything in advance...
Where did you get it from? Takju phones are only available on the Google Play store. Other variations are sold overseas. You can download the "official GN update" app (name might be a little off) from the play store and it will tell you which version you have.

tajku is with Google wallet, so if you don't need it, you can go either way.
Only way you know that before hand is if other people who bought from same place tells you
Where did you buy it from??
considering you're apparently from Holland you'll need to do this:

I ordered it from a site google.nl is linking to. However I received an email from them today that my order is delayed since the device is in backorder at their supllier...so I can only wait and hope this isn't going to take week(s) :crying:
Western European devices are mostly yakju!

Download this app from the Play Store to check the version of your device: GN Official Update Checker
Use Maps
you can find out if it's yakju or takju by simply
*going into the maps app
*settings
*about
the version should be under device
eg
samsung yakjuxw
Unless you have google wallet, you have yakju. Yakjus are far more common and seem to get the updates a tiny bit earlier in the rollouts.
with CM10 i have yakju and with AOKP i have takju? strange no?
And with the stock rom i had yakju too. I think this yakju/takju thingy doesn't matter when using custom roms, am i right?
you can get you product name (takju yakju etc) by:
Code:
adb shell getprop ro.product.name
adb.exe is included in the Android SDK.
there are just different software profiles for Galaxy Nexus the hardware profile however is the same - 'maguro'.
I used to be on yakjuxw but flashed takju as it updates faster.
basically
takju = yakju + google wallet.
takju & yakju are both GSM/HSPA+
takju & yakju are distributed by Google
yakjuXX are distributed by Samsung
actually this name you can change it anytime from /system/build.prop.
so, yes it does not matter much

If you want to know how to flash it go to the Galaxy Nexus forum and you'll find a guide. It's very complete and well written so you shouldn't have too much trouble flashing the update on your phone. (or you could wait for a few days and hopefully you'll get the update via OTA, I'm sure it will arrive soon... well if you are on yakju anyway)

4.2 was released on Takju first and Yakju got it about a week later. They get the updates at about the same time anyway as they are both updated by Google.
People if i got yakjuXX will i be able to use fastboot & flash cyanogenmod stable for "maguro"?
Yakju got android 4.3 before takju, so yakju is better.

Normally takju gets updates first but that all changed with 4.3, yakju got 4.3 update before takju, so I'm guessing Google changed their minds an made yakju their first choice from now on with receiving updates first.
When maguro was released, there was only yakju. But then again, there's no real difference between the two.
a maguro sent this.

Where can I find original build

I need to return my nexus to where I bought it because it is faulty, but i need to put the original os back on any ideas where I can get it?
the original build number was: Imm76k.i9250xwld2 which is apparently "yakjuxw" running 4.0.1 (i think)
the build number now is JRO03C or yakju running 4.1.1
I have been told that it wont matter if i don't do this, as they are both official builds and they wont know/care. any experience with this?
thanks

Imm76k.i9250xwld2 is not yakjuxw 4.0.1, it is yakjuxw 4.0.4.
You can find a yakjuxw 4.0.1 ROM in the dev section. Once you flash it, you will get updated to yakjuxw 4.0.4 and and possibly yakjuxw 4.1.1.

haha I totally deserve that
I've flashed the software from the link I posted, but the build number is different to what it originally was
it is now: ITL41F.I9250XWKK9 instead of Imm76k.i9250xwld2
do you think this will matter?
EDIT: really confused, cant find Imm76k.i9250xwld2 anywhere but I've noticed "imm76k" is listed on the official google builds here but under "Factory Images "mysid" for Galaxy Nexus "toro" (VZW CDMA/LTE)"
also on this site it is listed at the bottom as "IMM76K shipped on I9250 international devices later in the Galaxy Nexus’ lifecycle. It was never offered as an over-the-air update."
can anyone help me find the build I'm after, or at least tell me if its safe to send it without the exact same build it came with on?

[Q] Q: OTA for 4.2 fails on my Galaxy Nexus during installation why?

Hello,
I received 4.2 OTA update to upgrade my Galaxy Nexus from 4.1.2....update downloaded fine...and then performed a reboot of the device to install...during installation, it failed...received the sleeping android with the "Big Red ! triangle'. The phone restarted and the version running was still 4.1.2 ... this has happened 3 times already.
Any idea on why this happens ...and how to get it updated to 4.2 correctly??

You dont have a custom recovery installed as well, then?
How did you unlock the bootloader? (May seem like a pointless question, depending on the op's answer.)
What radio/baseband version do you have installed?

I think your baseband should be XXLF1. XXLA2 was an ICS baseband.
XXLA2:
- Standard European baseband
- Originally from the yakju ICL53F factory image and the OTA update (to 4.0.4 / IMM76D from ICL53F)

Sorry...but I still don't understand why i would need to do the manual "return to stock" again...
since my baseband is XXLA2...does that mean OTA 4.2 installtion will never work...till the baseband is updated? If i do follow the steps for return to stock manual update again (which to me is very painful since i m a n00b) ...will the baseband be updated again...?? what happens when 4.2.1 has to be upgraded...followed next yr by 4.3 or 5 (key lime pie)?
are there easy steps to just update the base band??
(pardon my questions...i m learning the hard way not to buy google devices from eBay)

IF the radio is the only issue you can fastboot flash the xxlf1 radio. You will need to follow the first few steps in bk201doesntexist's link to set up the fastboot drivers & DL the platform-tools necessary to flash your device.
