I'm not new to HTC i owned my diamond for many years now but i wanted to got my new HTC ONE X
plz help me coz all the web sites sells the china version and i only trust the Taiwan version of any HTC
can any one tell me about a site that sells the Taiwanese one x?
i need a web site that somebody got his Taiwanese one x from it
HTC...... quietly brilliant
I don't think there's anywhere that will allow you to pick your phone by serial number. Get the phone and if anything is wrong with it return it for a replacement. I'd recommend Amazon as they've the best return service.
By the way, the China version seems to have less problems from what I can gather on the forums.
I had the diamond, the early days of sense, glad it has improved.

Goto any mobile shop and choose HOX starting from ht serial number . You can check serial number from box.

You would not say that if you got my first handset. I had the yellow spot on mine and a few others in another forum has flickering issues with the Chinese handsets.

You can say the same thing about the Taiwanese models as well. It's a crapshoot as to whether or not you get a good phone from either country. We have no idea if Chinese or Taiwanese models are better because we're not privvy to HTC's returns records.
If you want one, order it from a reputable company and if it's defective, return it. It's as simple as that.

Well put it this way I'd rather get one made from Taiwan than CHina because China has bad QC compared to others.
I've been reading more chinese handsets having issues comapred to the ones made in Taiwan.

And I've read more Taiwanese models have had issues, therefore Taiwan must have crappier QC...
This is my point. It doesn't matter what you've read, because there's always going to be another thread saying the other model is worse. The best the OP can do is order one from a reputable website and return it if it's defective.

I don't agree sorry because everything that is made from china is just poor quality. You are entitled to your opinion. I know if I had a choice I would rather get a product made in Taiwan or Singapore over the ones made in China.

My phone is an SH23 model (Chinese) and it's been perfect so far. Hopefully yours is too.
Mine is also SH23 and it's perfect.
Sh23 here.
All good since launch day!
My Desire HD was made in Taiwan and I too wanted a taiwanese HOX. Luckily the first phone I picked up in the store (one of the reasons I didn't buy it online was to check the sn before buying) was HT24 and it's flawless. I can totally understand why the OP wants a TW phone.

Same here Taiwan.. zero build defects, non to mild software issues (not related to the manufacturing)
mine is from Taiwan as well, it is functioning just fine. I have had no problems yet, and I dont expect to have anything hardware related. Just software if anything.
I ordered 2 white One X's. Both are made in Taiwan. One got resizing screen issue and was sending back for replacement. Another one isn't has any issues(yet).

So it's clear that build quality of taiwan product is better. Guys please keep this in mind before buying. I am a bit dissapointed by HTC regarding the issues that are faced in such high end devices
i agree with you guys.
my experienced with my previous devices, htc hd2 (2 devices, taiwan and china), desire s (china), sensation (taiwan):
on hd2 the taiwan one works great but has dull screen colors, altough the china one has great screen colors, but distorted speaker on max volume, and already broke in less than a year (restarted in loop).
desire s, has a build quality defect, like backlight bleeding and there is a space between screen glass and the body. but works fine.
sensation, no problem at all.
i just wonder if there are chinise phones out there?

Taiwan model here, sent back due to a host of build issues.
Chinese model and no problems.

Chinese model here minor issues with screen flickering and my wifi not connecting properly to my router at 40mhz (works fine on other routers and at 20mhz on my router).
China manufactured, everything's perfect apart from 1 virtually unnoticeable dead pixel.
China's manufactured here, 100% perfect, no build problems or anything. If anything, I think it's just the software.
Hi,
I want to buy a HTC one X and I heard there are differences of the software and hardware (even quality) if you buy it in different countries . I have the chance to buy a European Version or an HongKong Version ...... Does anybody know the differences? and which one is better?
Thanks for your Help!
PS.: Rogers & AT&T I know ....
They are made in two factories Taiwan and Shanghai, but there doesn't seem to be anything we can correlate to that.
I don't suppose you'll notice a difference, unless you want to input Cantonese. The firmware updates have been slower to arrive in Hong Kong.
Hi,
I'm in Australia, I purchased my grey HOX mid May from online store Kogan. It came from HK, it's a HT24DW and have no quality issues come up. I also has FW 1.29.751.12. I'm mostly happy with it so far as I came from 3 years of iPhone.
Cheers
Thanks 4 helping. And whats the difference between Shanghai and Taiwan Version?

Please help. Whats the difference between SH and HT products?
Thanks
Where Im from, we get the HT version and so far a high percentage of it has defects, not too sure bout the SH version thou. On a side note, European versions get updates faster compared to the SEA region.

Take your pakage, and somewhere on the sticker on it should stay "Maide in Taiwan" or "Made in China"
Or if your serial number starts with "HT" (for example HT23NW.........) then it is maid in Taiwan ...

the only difference is the price the HT price is higher than HS about 45$ but they r the same no diff. at all i have HS and yesterday i did OTA update it's been better rosie lag fixed and restored 5 giga now its cool the camera is amazing no sense loops the sense become ultra smooth too
Edit >> there's a difference in the phone case the HT came with a white small case " plastic" but the other "HS" came with a slim box package " hard paper "...
SH Vs HT No difference except....
We have three phones 2 HT series and 1 SH. The button light on SH one is much brighter. Does that mean anything
Title says it all.
I've purchased the device about a week ago and I noticed it just now(after searching the web about the scrolling issue, which apparently caused by using a 3rd party charger).
Did someone else encounter this? Is that normal? If not, What should I do?
No it isn't. May of been imported from China (Hong Kong) for cheap, and sold to you and many others. Just google 'eCell', the fraudulent company selling on Ebay. Anyway, as they use different plugs they either give you no charge or one like you have. Any Chinese writing anywhere?
Okay I did some more Google research apparently a lot of retailers here(Israel) put a samsung charger for some reason.

If it's all over the box, i think you've been had. Call HTC customer services, give them the imei and they'll tell you where it's from. Alternatively check your cid. Is it htc__622? Get cid checker from the store.
http://play.google.com/store/search?q=pname:org.tritonsoft.cidgetter
Install and check what ro.cid is.
@Op,
In the xda hox general section everything is possible.

It's a Taiwanese company, so the Chinese writing didn't come off as weird to me.
Anyway switching the HOX chargers seems like a common practice here. The only place that sells original HTC chargers is the official importer. I think I'll just buy it from them.
So in your country it's normal, 'your own question answered'. Well done!

Hong Kong has "British socket" and electronics are not much if any cheaper here. They're cheap in Shenzhen.
If you want to purchase on ebay, I recommend rose528400, as that is where I purchased my phone from. As far as I know, the phone is near flawless. Now that I checked it, the international version has become surprisingly cheap. Not trying to advertise here, thanks.

That is wrong. The touch screen bug is caused by a dirty power connection. My house power connection would work fine and the touch screen works very well but at my work (which is a very old building) I have tons of touch screen bugs because of the dirty power connection.

afaik its not the charger that filters, should be the phone (i base this on the fact my dhd doesn't have problems with both htc chargers), whereas the hox has problems with both .
after repair (and update to 2.17), the problem went away, but since i flashed viperx and faux kernel, the bloody problem came back! it hardly does it with my original charger, but really bad with the dhd charger (both original htc ones)
Hi guys,
I just got a new HTC One X for my brother and found some interesting things. First, the phone only has 16GB on board memory (indicated on the box). Second, the phone has SN starting with SH29BW (new production batch). Third, the phone came with 4.0.4 update preinstalled.
I also notice that the build is 100% perfect, no hardware issue (Wifi works perfectly) inside out. I contacted the seller and he said HTC no longer produces 32GB version of the S720e.
I found this one is interesting and wanna share with every one

The one you have is from the package with a headset. Seller take it out and sell the phone separately.
The other type of box is a white square one. This is the stand-alone version of the phone (without the headset).
My box is black and smaller than the 2nd one. And the box indicates HTC India
PS: I am in US, Minnesota and got the phone from a Yankee seller

It's true, there is a new batch of HOX, I got mine yesterday and asked around turns out they only make 16GB of the new model.
The white... is... beautiful compared to the black!
So, I bought my phone from someone like 5 months ago, and it works fine except for two things. First the camera does not focuses on macro o close up pictures. It just doesn't, no matter what I try.
And secondly, something that started recently, the WiFi drops....even next to the router. I read somewhere here that it was a manufacturer problem. So I called HTC and they told me I am under warranty and that I should send my phone to them. Question is:
Will they give me another phone? Something I want but with the same CID (0_44 here) and, how long will they take to fix this? I know these are kinda weird questions but maybe someone is able to answer them. Thanks.

Girl said she couldn't tell me. It "depends on each case" and that's why I come here. Someone might have sent their phone for similar reasons.

We don't know what country you are in, we don't know what service centre you're referring to, we don't know what stock they have, we don't know what backlog they might have, some of those things change with time, we don't know what other problems they might find. It depends on each case.
I'm not sure how anybody here could be more qualified than HTC repair centre to answer the question.
HTC service in Hong Kong told me typically three business days for the WiFi problem, I don't know if that includes the pick up and delivery days
The girl in the US checked my serial number which would tell her my cellphone is CID_044 right?
She didn't tell me I was gonna pay or that they couldn't fix it cuz it was not bought from USA. Is it safe for me to send it?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Well HTC__044 is an asian phone, and the international One X is not sold in the US. I've heard that they can't import new motherboards due to some patent infringement, but that may have changed now.

Well, yes, but if it requires importing a component that would go against an import ban, that would mean breaking the law, and I'm sure you can understand why they might be inclined not to do that.
