I am having a problem for a few days. The moment i switch on my wifi hotspot or connect to my pc using tethering the data network on my phone drops.
It still says turned on in the status bar but the connection icon is gone and i cant connect to the internet.....
Anybody here with any idea what's wrong, any help will be greatly appreciated....

Flash a new Rom, if it works on that new Rom then there is something going on in that Rom. I had a Rom work great for weeks then all the sudden

Either

Are you using a stock rom?
Might sound obvious have you turned on mobile data?

All i can think is check in wireless and network settings then somewhere under mobile network, check for access points and make sure your network is selected in there. Last resort maybe factory reset but might be worth contacting your network maybe the problem is them.

Thanks for that. The son is correct. Turning mobile internet off then back on seems to reliably sort it out. Strange.
Will try a reset, before thinking of sending in to be looked at.

Stock usb tethering is really good, what's the matter with yours?
