[Q] Re: Sennheiser earphones with 3 button controls - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Accessories

Hi, sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong section, a bit confused whether it would fall under general Q&A, accessories or apps.
Anyway, does anyone know of a good app that can sort of manage the use of the 3 control buttons of sennheiser earphones while using MusicProplayer?
Right now, I can use the control to skip to the next track or play the previous track but the control for volume itself does not respond. Any app that might help?
Thanks!

Hey there! I was in your situation not too long I ended up downloading "JAYS headset control" app refereed by nixoninajar. This app allows you to do everything that you are looking for but the catch is, you have to use just one button. Everything stays the same except for volume control, if you want to increase click once and hold the play/skip button and to decrease double click play/skip button and hold till you get your desire volume level. This works really good for me, tested on several 3 button headsets.

Nice! I'll try it out tonight! By the way, is there a way to skip tracks / play previous tracks using just one button? Thanks again!

Aw man... Sorry to hear that I have never used musicplayer pro, but works on poweramp and playerpro though. Does musicplayer pro have option to control headset buttons? Maybe need to check them off so it doesn't conflict with jays headset app? :/

I'll try disabling the override for musicplayer pro and check again...thanks for the advice! =)

how to increase the ringer volume and otter noob questions

Hi please can somebody tell me how to increase the ringtone volume?
It possible to Change the clock on home screen with a clock with meteo, like Samsung note style?
I use Volume+ for volume increase and SimiClock for clock+weather. You can search for other clock and weather apps on market tho.
You should use HD Widgets for clock/weather. That's the one i use and i love it.

Ha i have use it but volume are really low for me
I too use Volume+, but I must be using it wrong, because it doesn't seem to be really increasing the volume. I followed the instructions in the app. Arw you supposed to just be able to keep increasing the volume past the max or is it supposed to boost the entire band of volume?

Just set it to about 8+. It works great for me. Just try increasing carefully so as not to blow the speaker.. that is in case 8+ is too much for your phone.
Volume+ just works fine for me. It may require root tho.

What I did to increase the volume of my ringtone is increasing level in an audio editor on my PC and transfer it back over.
Works well for me and I don't need volume+

follow the direction that pops up when you first open Volume+ app
uninstall, then reinstall it if you've already went ahead and ignored it.
I got my set to 8+, and it's perfect.

low volume on nexus

Hi All
I've recently come over from the Desire S forum, was running a custom rom, and before that i had a rather unfortunate love affair with blackberries!
well i've got my hands on a Galaxy Nexus and i LOVE the phone! however the only downside is that this phone is really really really quiet....
its running on teh 4.0.2 update, build number ICL53F, and I've tried searching but can't seem to find a fix for this....
i'm struggling to hear the other person when i'm sitting in a library and my alarm barely manages to stir me in the mornings!
help!!!
Why not search? Install equalizer or volume+ and max out each frequency. Your volume will double for ringer, notifications, music and audio.

Volume+ is great... it's useful beyond the nexus as well. Made a big difference on our Nook Colors
I did search, and read about both of these apps, however I was thinking more along the lines of perhaps an ACTUAL FIX which fixes this issue in the nexus rather than just an app that boosts the volume...
thanks for the suggestions guys..

If there's an actual fix (which I'm sure there is) it'll probably be in an OTA.

volume+ is an actual fix. It changes the volume level under the covers.
I don't see any difference using Volume+ or at least i can't tell!

at a bare minimum, you should set your ringer/notifications at +4. I've used +6 for the past month and it's been fine.
I got it working with a reboot, +5 or similiar looks just fine
well those apps are a fix. Google exposed the audio api's after gingerbread for anyone to raise system audio output. So these apps just tie into the system audio and raise it as much as you like. Only call volume is not exposed. Sure maybe google will raise the volume in an update soon. But using apps that use the audio api really is the same thing.
The latest ota leak increased volume.

Try this:
Volume+ Free - LINK
or buy it to make it even louder: Volume+ (Sound Boost) - LINK
If you ever root, use DSP Manager, a lot better then Volume+:
DSP Manager (Flash it) - LINK

I tried the free no noticeable difference so im hesitant to buy the full. Thanks anyway
you can buy it, and try it out. you have a 15 minute refund window.
yea I hate that 15 min window lol never seems enough time, they should at least give you an hour
Its says it currently doesn't work with ICS?? Hrmmm..
So it works on your Gnex??
Thanks guys. = )

this doesn't help with "in-call, earpiece" volume. i recall that this type of change had to be done at the kernel level. i had the same issue with my Nexus One and a kernel dev boosted the output tables (or something like that) in the kernel and it made a big difference. i was hopeful that Samsung's service codes could be accessed to change in-call volumes. however, those codes don't work on the Galaxy Nexus.
Hmm. Flashed dsp manager and now it force closes every time i try and open it. Any way to get it working or at least remove it?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
This has been covered in depth. Install equalizer or volume+, and max out each frequency. Your volume will double for all audio, ringers, notifications, and music. But call volume will stay the same.
So it does work with ICS?
I used volume+. Out the box volume is low. For each setting i put it on the one after the *warning*. Does its job.
Equalizer is my favorite over volume+... and yes the both work on ice cream. Works excellent.
So its just called equalizer??
Does it have some other options over the earpiece also?
Thanks guys. I've thrown a few thanks hits around too. = )
Cheers.
Equalizer by smart apps. Great app.
I use volume + and works great. I got the paid version. These are my settings and its loud I have to turn my phone down at work cuz when it rings its loud as hell lol.

Cool man thanks for the uploads dude!!
So I'm trying g to decide without knowing what one works aswell as what one is better.....dilemma!! Haha.
Thanks again guys. = )
One other thing, is the Gnex speaker capable of going louder without damage??
also make sure you go to sound settings > music effects and choose volume +. a lot of people who don't notice a difference in volume have missed that essential step

If your kernel supports it, you could use voodoo+, sounds plus, or xlouder, or dsp manager, to change the over all volume louder

My VolumeSwipe lets you adjust the volume by swiping along the edge of the screen in the small number of apps that it supports. It has a boost mode which lets you increase the volume beyond the OS settings. So one option, though not a very convenient one, is to install VolumeSwipe and turn on its boost mode. Then in Netflix, just swipe up to increase volume to 120% (say). When you're done watching the movie, swipe back down to a normal volume level before exiting Netflix.
I haven't tried VolumeSwipe on the E4GT as I designed it exclusively for the Kindle Fire (which needs something like it since it doesn't have volume keys), so the screen layout may look bad on a smaller screen, but it's worth trying.
If you find that VolumeSwipe gives you the kind of volume setting you like, you can post back in this thread and ask me nicely to add an option to remember the volume levels in the supported apps and to restore outside of them. This way, each time you start up Netflix (or one of the other supported apps--there aren't many) you'll get the same volume level, and when you leave Netflix, you'll get a default level.
Alternately, per-app volume-boost would be a nice feature to add to my per-app settings app.
Thank you!! Boosts enough in Netflix. If you can add option of remembering volume levels I am asking nicely! Really.
Thanks for all your effort,
Doc
actually that would be very nice and a nice feature im sure every1 could enjoy....also if you could the volume maxes out at 140 im not sure if im getting the same results as the guy above me lol but im getting miminal boost im thinking 175% would be perfect.

I worry that it might damage the speakers.
I decided to do this not with VolumeSwipe (which I recommend uninstalling), but instead with my in-development PerApp app, which lets you set different per-application settings.
PerApp 0.01 lets you control Volume Boost and Orientation Lock.
To set Netflix to a louder volume, run PerApp. Select Netflix. Choose "Boost". Set a volume level like "6" (=140% in VolumeSwipe). Back out of the setting. Then check off "Active".
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. You can download from here. Source code is in the repository.
1 possible solution
My OS: Win 7
My default browser: Firefox
My solution:
Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound >
Under "Sound" (do not click the actual Sound link) click > Adjust system volume
If you see your browser present, increase the sound for it.

Thanks for the great review! 2 questions please. First, I can't seem to get the triple click to work to repeat previous track. Any reason for that? Second, is there any way to get the volume controls to work, e.g. by using adapters or apps, on an android device (I'm using an LG G5)? Thanks for any help.

Triple click is always hit'or'miss. Often it re-starts the track, so in a way in skips back but not the previous track. With a volume control, as you know - apple vs android is not compatible
thanks for the quick reply! yeah, thought so myself, just wanted to check.
