fast Reboot*
just clears memory.
is there any ?
quick reboot from market..
for fast booting, try some other custom roms like creed's . It's booting time decreased by 14 seconds
Boot in safe mode. It is the fastest boot for SGY.

But how can you boot into fastboot with the volume keys broken?
By pressing and holding back and then power button.
SwiftKeyed from CM7 using Transparent XDA App
You can boot into fastboot by long-pressing the power button and then clicking on reboot and then "Bootloader"

To boot into fastboot you have to press back and power button. And to navigate there you have to use volume buttons (which does not work here), except you connect your phone to usb and use fastboot commands to reboot etc.
or you could use an app called quick boot to get to recovery.
Rather than trying to get into recovery, consider getting the phone fixed. You can do things in recovery that could leave you with no option than to use volume buttons and then you're stuck. My advice, leave recovery alone

AW: [Q] xperia s totally dead
If you are able to access cwm recovery you easily can flash the old kernel.
If not then you have to put your xs in fastboot or flashmode. Depending on what you wanna flash.
After that use flashtool to flash a system of your choice.

Aimed primarily at those who have unlocked bootloader and want to root .569 firmware. Can also be used as a daily driver.
Stock kernel with only recovery added using @osm0sis's Android image kitchen. (Big thanks to him )
Instructions:
Make sure your bootloader is unlocked. (Backup TA partition on directly rootable firmware beforehand if unlocking for the first time.)
Ensure you have @Chainfire's latest SuperSU.zip from here SuperSU-v1.89.zip on your internal or external SD card.
Flash the boot.img from HERE with flashtool or command line.
Reboot, and press volume up when blue LED comes on to enter Philz CWM Advanced Edition recovery,
Or volume down to enter TWRP
Flash SuperSU-.zip from where ever you stored it.
Reboot - Done:good:

Is it working on your device ? Is it also C6502 or other
I see what you did in the new kernel , you changed the recovery-ramdisk .
I tried that too with others from CM 10.2 and CM11.0 kernels but no luck.
The phone boots.....vibrates & purple LED appears......i press vol-up several times....phones boots into the homescreen.
Everything works fine but the CWM window never appears.
Thats why i'm asking you again where did you get the kernel source ? I cannot find it on sony developer world

I dont know how Supergen2 managed to get it working i would like to know.
I flashed stock ftf before flashing the kernel so there were no mods interfering with the kernel.

Did you try to boot into recovery via adb?
adb reboot recovery
So you can test if it is a general problem with recovery or with pressing keys in.the boot process.
When I had a recovery on my phone (I currently don't have one, and it had not been this recovery kernel by shoey) I was only able to boot into it via adb or the app X-Parts.
Xperia ZL, 4.2.2 Stock (.67), rooted
