SE MW600 and HTC One X - HTC One X

Hi all,
i have a Sony Ericsson MW600 BT headset which is able to display CallerID and Track Name during playback. For many android devices which I had tried before, most likely both CallerID and TrackId would had not been displayed at all (With the exception of iOS devices)
With ICS and Custom ROM in the picture today, some had met with success in fully utilizing the device for both purpose (Check youtube). Even in HOX today, I am able to see Caller Name when the incoming call is of a number had been registered to a contact. It's just that the track id is not showing now.
I'm suspecting it's the music player next, anyone would had the same BT device and met with success in displaying the track id ? Which music player are you using ?
Thanks...

No track ID on stock music player too.

Somewhat unrelated to the OP, but since the thread name is quite general.
I've heard the news somewhere that you could use your bluetooth headset to trigger the camera shutter.
Tried with my MW600 and pressing the call button twice takes a picture when the camera app is on screen.
pretty awesome.
TrackId didnt work on any player

Have same BT HSet. Track ID never worked on HTC android devices i owned as far as i remember. IT WORKED on SGS Note though with GBread stcok ROM.

Hi MOUSEY,
this should be my same issue when using my ONE S with SE MW600,
So any updates or good new from your experiences up to now?
Appreciate if u can share me the solutions if available at your end
Tks/Trung

I also use the MW600 with my 1X. The bird player shows the titles.
But I only want to use the original player.

how can and which version of Bird player u used bro?
can u share me some screenshots on setting as well? i've use Bird player 1.3 but can not show id
Tks bro!

Used to display track ID on Nplayer but since I flashed CM 9 my device and phone no longer speak to each other . Renders a nice piece of kit useless

Sorry to revive this old topic, but I am using this BT headset and will love to have music track ids displayed on the mw600's display.
Did anybody find any solution on their HOX yet

only the asop and the aokp roms can display the trak id cause their Bluetooth modules contain the plugin(cant remember the correct word) which sense doesn't have in their Bluetooth moduls (using mw600 for 5months now)

Also works nicely on CM10 + Apollo/Google Music. However, i could never get the caller name displayed, only the number.

Thats sad, hoping fervently that HTC has put it in JB sense. Will hate to go senseless
One of my friend has motorola Defy and another one HTC legend (CM7), both their sets shows trackids and calling no on MW600.
Feeling Sad, very sad

Don't buy a W100 Wired Remote unless you're a Windows Media Player fanatic(only WMP!)

After buying a W100 Wired Remote, I found that it only works with Windows Media Player (which in my personal and humil opinion sucks!). Unless you 'lock' all buttons, any press you make will open WMP (even if you're already running any other player),.... and if you lock them, well, you won't even be able to answer a call... and of course, if you're ok with no buttons... what did you want this adapter for????
I asked HTC for support, and how to configure it with other players, etc.. and this is the answer (after asking three times and two weeks after my last 'request')...
Thank you for contacting HTC Europe.
The "HTC Touch W100 Wired Remote" it's an accessory obviously made by HTC, having mind to serve our products.
Now, our mobile phones are supplied with windows mobile manufactured software and the only media program supplied with it it's the well known "Windows Media Player" in mobile format.
We don't supply other media software on our products and so we don't manufacture accessories for other 3rd party software manufactures.
Should you have any other query, please do not hesitate to call us. Your local number can be found at: http://www.europe.htc.com/support/csbyphone.html

I don't think that's a reasonable answer so beware if you're thinking of getting one of these!

P.S. Oh, I forgot to say, if you install HTC AudioManager, it will control AudioManager (and open AM, and everything instead of WMP). It's just that AudioManager has the same drawbacks as WMP, with 'pseudo-intelligent' media lists, etc.... AND THEY DON'T EVEN CONSIDER THAT IN THEIR ANSWER!!!!
The W100 Wired Remote also works with the FM Radio !!
Any solution?
I use Conduits Pocket Player v3.2 and it has plugin Conduits WMP Plugin Adapter 2.0
This plugin enables Pocket Player to 'host' plugins that are originally designed for Windows Media Player 10 for Windows Mobile. Many plugins simply control playback, such as the Bluetooth A2DP/AVRCP plugin on WM5 devices. Other times, more features and controls are utilized, such as the plugin for Microsoft Voice Command.
Sound good but not working... maybe next version...
Too Late
I allready got one...
You R Right!
It Sucks!!!!!!!
grtz,
Pfeffa-rah
If anyone's sick of it and want to get rid of it, let me know. I think it might be possible to map in wider support and customisation of the functions if I can see how it works.

Hi, i have HTC P3300 PDAViet BB v4.0 and recently buy from expansys W100 Wired Remote.
Automatically works in this rom with Audiomanager without install any specific driver, works perfectly, play button launch audiomanager, all butons are ok, holding next/prev you scan song, single click go to next or prev, if launch radio, buttons only work on radio, if anyone calling me when listen music (mp3) volume fade off and listen ring tone, button mute works ok.
repeat, i dont need install driver in this rom, works directly.

HI I don't have the w100 but I'm interested to buy a 3.5mm adapter so.. do have you try the Htc audio manager (the installable .cab) with the registry patch on this link?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=318459
with the registry patched the Htc audio manager is my default mp3 player.
Yeah I was pretty pissed too. Was eager to try w100+ Conduits Pocket Player and it doesn't work - who uses windows media player anyway? The only hope is some kind of patch from conduits :\
Wish I'd found this topic before I bought one of these. Didn't realize you couldn't use the buttons with CorePlayer, Conduits PocketPlayer, or Resco Radio. If you don't clip that controller onto your collar or something, it eventually weighs on the headphones and pulls them out of your ears. Once clipped on, you really look like a dork
Seemed like a good idea, just not well implemented. As-is, it's a waste of money...
Guys heads up!!! Things have MOVED forwards!!
I just tried Pocket Player 4.0. I think it's the most recent version. All the buttons are working without any problem. So, in the end, there is a cool player supporting the hot 7-buttons handsfree ;-) And it's working on a HTC Diamond. So, I guess, we can mark this topic as *SOLVED* ;-)
So - have fun !!! AND BUY THE HANDSFREE!!! It is COOOOOL !!!

Hi Im trying the pocket player 4 but my w100 dont work (still open WMP) how do you make it work? do you install any plug in?
Hi, I'm also keen to find out a little about the ROM and software you're running... My TyTn II (with Pocket Player 4) insists on controlling HTC Audio Manager.
So - firstly, what is on the ROM in terms of music players? WMP obviously, but do you have HTC Audio Manager installed as well? And did you tweak any settings in PP4 or did it just work out of the box?
I'm liking the W100 but not with HTC/Microsoft media players... any advice appreciated!
Any news?
Are you still using your w100?
this is an old thread but still not soved.
Mine was working fine at least with HTC Audio manager with my Fuze, with sevaral different roms as long as I didn´t use second today or something like that, wich will deactivate HTC audio manager and works only with WMP.
Now i have a CDMA/GSM Rhodium from Verizon with the newest Energy ROM wich is great by the was. But I can not make it work with my w100, it is only controling WMP.
Any news???

Desire Music Playback

Hi there,
I'm new to these forums and am really interesting in the HTC Desire. Being a user of Sony Walkman phones for the last 4 years music playback is a huge part of my phone usage.
I'm wondering as a device without an equaliser how does this rate compared to other phones for music playback? Is it possible to download third party music playback software?
Otherwise this phone looks perfect, possibly too good to be true at £15 a month on t-mobile!
Hi, check the GSMarena review - sound quality is top notch! (so why would you want to ruin good sound fidelity with an EQ?).
Problems with non-unicode tagging leads to things being seen as "Unknown Genre" by the music player, which is a significant bummer for some (like me).
Theres plenty of third party software, some with EQs.
same boat here.. i have been a Sony walkman user for the last 10 years and sound quality was/is top of my agenda..
the Desire is pretty good i'd have to say.. ok doesnt sound as good as my Sony X series walkman but its unlikely to as thats a dedicated audio/video device.. the nice thing about android is that there's a choice of apps you can use for music playback.. the stock one is fine but a bit boring.. i downloaded 'cubed' last night and its got a pretty neat interface..
i would like an equaliser to be able to add treble/bass etc.. and i've seen it in some players.. but the interfaces are a bit iffy at the moment.. hopefully in time someone will create an all singing all dancing music player..
oh and just keep an eye on the the low volume threads here.. some people have gotten phones that the volume is very low on but mine (unlocked unbranded from carphone warehouse) is plenty loud..
Cheers,
Mick

Cheers for the feedback I'm glad the audio is pretty decent! The idea of using a standard headphone jack is a nice change to the SE phones.
Another question is can you change song without having to whap it out? It may sound strange but when I'm walking to say University, I can currently just hit the rocker switch on the side of the phone to change track - is that the case with the Desire?
Or do I have to bring it out, unlock it, and then change track, relock it, then tidy it away? Hope not!

If you use the bundled HTC headphones, then no. They come with media controls on the wire.
But if you use your own headphones, then yes. You'll have to take the device out, press the standby button to wake the device and skip to the track you want. You don't have to unlock and jump into the music application. There are music controls at the lock screen for back, play/pause, and forward.
Ah of course I forgot about those headphones. Thanks!
Now I just have to wait until January

You can control tracks/play/pause from the lockscreen.
I have a question to users of the Desire: when you put videos on the device and upload them to the memory card, can you arrange them into a playlist on the device itself to be able to play a series of music videos, without having to select each one, and also to be able to skip tracks, fast forward and shuffle???
Can the built-in music player play a video playlist?
If not, can the video player play a playlist with videos separately from music (and even just play the audio file if the screen is shut off)?
If not still, is there any application - video player - on Android Market that supports video playlists and shuffle, skip and fast forward?
I would not dream of being able to change the playback speed tho, just to be able to play vids right. I'd appreciate any your insights
Meridian is a great music/video player!
Sent from my HTC Desire using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
the speaker isnt so good, though
I'm finding the music via earphones to be a little low. Are there any players with EQ so I could boost it up a bit?
I know people on UK T-Mobile ROM's had an issue with low music volume but I don't think that's the same issue with mine as i'm using the generic ROM.

Any wired remotes for the Evo?

For headphones? Is this function even possible with the 3.5mm jack that's on our phone? I have one of these for my iPod touch, but I trying to ween myself off of the Apple teet.
The stock HTC version of froyo (with sense and whatnot) will work with an iphone headset natively. But only to play/pause and deal with calls. It wont skip tracks fwd/back or fast fwd or adjust the volume.
HOWEVER, you can get a free app in the market called droidshuffle. It adds track skipping and a few other minor features. But, the current version doesn't work with the HTC music player. So you can either install a 3rd party player called cubed or the default android player (if you can find the apk on a forum).
The droidshuffle dev is working on a new version that will also work the the HTC player. I've been trying the beta and it seems to work fine. While cubed and the default android player are fine I like using the HTC player because it gives you lockscreen controls too.

Yeah I have the same and they're okay. The sound quality is crap but they're made by HTC so at least all of the buttons work properly. I use mine to control doubleTwist.

[Q] Music player with 5.1 ch sound?

I love the stock music player that came with my galaxy s because of it's ability to play music in 5.1 ch.
However, I have now flashed the latest MIUI to my sgs but the music player is not able to play music in 5.1 ch, so I was wondering if anyone of you guys know an app that can do this?
Thanks
5.1ch is just a sound effect. You can get it on any player app with basic tweaks to the equalizer settings.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Ah, I see. Does anyone have any tips on how to achieve this with an eq?
Sent from my Computer using My Keyboard
With 5.1ch people usually mean that instead of stereo (which is 2 channels, left + right) you have 4 additional channels (Center + Back left + Back Right + LFE or Bass (.1))
Your phone only has one speaker so I'm not sure how you want to achieve this.
The audio output is only capable of sending out stereo as well.
A source file with multi-channel audio is usually in *.vob format (DVD video format) but I know of no player that will show this on Android (except for the Archos Gen8 stock video player).
Audio only files would typically be in *.wav or *.ac3 format but same here, I know of no player that will play these multi-channel streams.
Perhaps I misunderstood your question?

The stock galaxy s music player was able to simulate 5.1 ch (when headphones were plugged in) which provided a very nice boost in sound quality. What I'm looking for is either a port of that music player to MIUI or another music player that is able to do the same thing (or some eq settings that does it would also be fine).

That option is a load of bull XD.When you listen you only have 2 speakers assuming you are using earplugs which makes 2.0 the highest you can achieve. You shouldn't bother about it... just a stupid tweak that imho makes the sound sound worse...
your comment is a load of bull.. no offence here. But the guy is asking for something dont tell him if its bad or not. He likes it other people like it some dont like it you find it bull. But he doesnt comment you on that does he?

And yes i find the sound nice to. And like other people said there are ways to get this trough EQ settings but so far i havnt got it the same as the stock player one

All I was saying that the option is stupid and it's fake it doesnt provide 5.1ch surround sound and I thought he was thinking that and I was helping his out of his dream (read his 3rd post... this is the case here..). If this is the case my comment is valuable if this isn't well.. he'll just do nothing with the information... It's a win anyway, he has nothing to lose, playing around with a EQ is way better ;/. Install voodoo sound tbh if you want a good musical experience...

The 5.1ch option was not stupid, even though it was fake. It made the sound much clearer and better on all headphones I used.
Will look into voodoo sound, thanks for the tip.
I had 5.1 available when I was using a gingerbread version I got from here. Now I can't seem to find one Pretty sure it was Calkulon or something along those lines. It was way better sound (with headphones) in my opinion, so I'm trying to find a current version that will deliver that "fake" surround

On a side note, I got Jellybean using a vid a watched from QBking77 on youtube, and he references you guys alot.
There are some bugs with Jelly Bean... For instance my mic cuts out when I hold the phone to my face and the screen goes off. Bluetooth headset... NOT A CHANCE lol. On speakerphone i can talk just fine. Headset, works great too. Sometimes I have to pull the battery because the screen dims. But for the most part, it works great.

Xperia S and MW600 Headset (AVRCP Protocol)

Hi,
just bought an Xperia S and now i am realy dissapointet about the fact that there is no Track Info or Caller ID showing on headset Display.... both Sony Devices
I know that there is a Implementation of the AVRCP Protocol in Cyanogen mod... it worked on my HTC Sensation.
Maybe anybody know if there are some XS Roms that are supporting this feature?
I have already lose my hope for it forget i have ask for it number of time since x10
I have Xperia S and MW600 and the caller ID works fine

Track info depends on the player. Walkman works and I believe Power Amp does as well.

Have you tried it?
I have an MW600 from X10 to Arc to XS and track info never displayed, ever! I've tried in stock player, winamp, poweramp and some other players I can't remember now. Only recently, caller name started to display in XS (previously only number will be displayed).
It's because Android natively doesn't have AVRCP v1.3 onboard. This is what I hear all over the place. (some vendor have implemented themselves)
