Those of you running Sense 3.X ROMs are in for a treat.
HTC are doing an Easter Special Weekend, and they have discounted 52 films to just 5p (to rent though ) - Think of it as going to the cinema for 5p Some of the latest films are on show!
Fire up the HTC Watch app, and set up an account.
Some top titles include:
Paranormal Activity 3, Transformers, Hostel, Harry potter, Hangover, Exorcist etc.
Hope you guys found this helpful
Thanks for this, good way for me to test out its video skills aside from youtube as I haven't transfered anything to the phone yet.
Get the films now guys, you have 30 days to watch them, so stock them up! (once you have started watching, you have 48 hours to finish watching though).
Files are around 1.5GB !
Getting Bad Boys 2 as I type
What is the quality of the movies, hd or dvd?

From the 2 I've had a quick look at, they are very poor. Almost vhs like. Disappointing, glad I only paid 50p for them!

Thought they were just 5p each?
Shouldn't it just be 10p in total then?
I think that the video is only optimized for qHD screen (watch originally launched on the Sensation)
HTC need to update it...
So what was the other film you DL'd?

I paid 0.5kr (danish) for mine each. Strangely swiftkey x auto corrects that to 50p... Didnt notice it when posting it seems.
Other one I downloaded is snatch, equally poor quality for a screen such as this. Both had subs hardcoded as well.

Yep, I'm giving it a go.
I'm starting with hostel for 5p
I've never rented a digital film on google play movies, but I did notice my pre-installed HTC Watch had a 5p discount, so thought I'd give it a go.
If the quality is good, I'll give a few others a go.
Even if I rented 5 films, doubt I'll notice 25p coming out of my bank lol
I love hostel, but I've not even seen paranormal activity 3 or transformers 3 - so for 10p, not bad.
I noticed google play movies havnt got any easter sale unlike HTC watch.
Like I said, it's all new to me - as I'm a Netflix user, renting films isn't something I've ever done digitally.

Hi guys,
Considering moving from my nexus to the one x, has anyone done so and if you have any regrets? Pros / cons?
I'm sorely tempted but have a couple of reservations. Camera lens / battery life
I get 2 days out my gnexus
Thanks

I have a galaxy nexus galaxy s2 and 1x. Battery is pretty poor on the Ox iff you compare it to the gnex but im sure an update will sort it. Whats your concern about cam lens? Is it because it sticks out iff so i just keep mine in a pouch an dont put it in poket with keys just like any other device iv had. The handset other than that is awesome in my eyes
Mod or Die
Yeah it is the protruding lens, does the 1x come with a pouch? I like the nexus but do not like amoled screen that much
Think it is sometimes bad reading about issues

Personally i found the one x to have a MUCH better battery than the G Nexus, even with AOKP and Franco Kernels but hey....
1% drain over 8 hours idle.... My G Nexus couldnt manage that in a million years...
Thanks all
any regrets at all going to the one? All the stories of issues is making me wary
Might head to carphone warehouse at lunch time!

My Galaxy Nexus would drain 1-3% over night and last 2 days by average, One X currently drains much more, but lets wait for an update.
Apart from battery, there is no way I would go back to G Nexus. Just do screen comparison side by side and that's it
One X is faster, plays movies faster (it starts playing instantly), audio quality sounds the same to me, I tend to listen to musing for 6 hours a day by average.
WiFi is working as expected, not slower, not faster, no problems with 5GHz network.
One X is slimmer and fits in the same belt case I was using with G Nexus.
It took me just few hours with One X to know I'm keeping it, selling G Nexus in few days, it's powered off, I won't use it anymore.
Overall One X seems like huge improvement over G Nexus.

It is awesome can't see any yellow on the white boot screen and display is easy better than the nexus IMO, don't have the sim yet need to cut it when I get home
Nexus is acting as wireless hotspot so I can set it up lol
Got to love Android and I'm no fan boy as I have had the rest, and I do mean them all

Keep us posted how you like the One X over the Galaxy Nexus ? I am thinking about possibly buying one.

I was doing the same. I did cut my SIM but it was not compatible, it had too big contacts. If the metal part looks like a globe then you might have problems. Hopefully cut SIM worked in GNexus in an adapter, but didn't work in One X.
Went to O2 store and got replacement, can't get any easier that that, took literally 1 minute to get it.
Anyway, was using GNexus as hotspot for entire day before that sim replacement.
Now GNexus is bagged and there is no way I would go back to it. One X is that great.
Stuff I don't like about One X compared to Nexus: hardware button placements. Buttons should be in exact same positions as on G Nexus. I keep pressing Vol accidentally when plugging in usb cable. Power on top always requires me to reach out with second hand. Nexus had the buttons laid out perfectly.

Hi Zorachus
Vodafone UK sim cut and installed ok, no problems there though it looked close
So far I love it as the screen doesn't have that amoled grubbyness on some colours esp grey.
I don't know if there is some uneven areas but you can find faults on anything if you look hard enough lol
Only one charge 18 hours on battery WiFi on, 1 hour 40 on screen, 60% batttery left
Seen a couple of what was like screen brightness flickers but went away, it was very subtle and I didn't have auto brightness on, weird!
Have grey one and so far very pleased and I prefer the button layout as it is, I'm old school I guess
Bought from carphone warehouse and they have a 14 day return policy should something go wrong, the guy in the shop said they sell out pretty quick and had had no returns
Any questions let me know
Thanks
Barry

I just wanted to start this thread and see what xda users can come up with to show off our perfect screens. Videos preffered of course.
Make sure you test it before hand so as to ensure excellent quality!

I personally think that any 720p anime look extremely good on the HOX screen , preferably one with bright colors.
Yeah anything animated whether its CGI or Anime would most definitely do the trick. A photo I took of my back yard seemed to capture ridiculously lush bright greenery which does 2 jobs of showing off how nice the screen is and how good the camera is.
I always watch anime along the way to work.
I tend to just find videos on YouTube which I know have 720p available. I play paintball, so I often use youtu[dot]be/UFmKIOTYWNs or youtu[dot]be/nCGMQC2wWn4 (not allowed to actually post links yet).
Note, there is dubstep-ish music in these videos. If you don't like dubstep, don't open the links (just fair warning!). There are also some short scenes between cuts of paintball footage that are a little edgy, eg there's a very short clip of a pole dancer (fully clothed at least) in the second video.
I like to use these videos because 1) 720p is available, 2) it's a video of something I do, 3) the videos not only show off the screen's resolution but also do a pretty good job showcasing the colours and contrast.
Despicable Me in 720p looks brilliant.

^ Yes what a perfect example. http://www.bigbuckbunny.org/index.php as well.
To be fair, despicable me looks great on anything.
I can't remember any stand out films that look good, they all do. But as for pictures, the HTC wallpapers look great and make the screen stand out to people.

There was another one that was fullscreen, I'm trying to find it now.
Also not fullscreen, but on Vimeo, has slightly better HD quality I think/

I've found a feature that makes s3 owners jealous. If my screen is on 70% brightness for 5 mins I can attach a handle on the back of my one x and iron my jeans.

Well I have my hands on the new Crystalusion Liquid Glass and I am in the process of writing the UK's first official online review of the product. So far I have applied the product to the screen of my one X which was incredibly easy.
The product protects against abrasion as well as bacteria and is invisible

So, how do you remove it after the year has passed and it is past its prime, when it is time to put on a new one?
it's some sort of coating that will wear off on it own. Stuff like that has been around for quite a few years, though.
You can reapply over the old.

So, after the umpteenth year you tablet is going to be twice as thick as what you started out with?
But the notion is good. No loss of sensitivity and/or higher friction for pens? If so, it would be a great improvement over the sheets.
You can't feel it's there at all. 500 times thinner than a human hair so would take a while to double the thickness of the tablet lol
Been using it on my one X for past week and it's great.

Hi, I've just got the marketing email from Expansys for this stuff but I can't find too many reviews. Will you be updating your review to reflect a few weeks usage soon?

Also, Those of you wanting to give this product a try for yourselves keep an eye on my website early next week. I am hoping to run a giveaway competition where you could win a sample for yourself!
My 1 month on review and giveaway is now live on my site.
To sum up, I ink this product is great. The HTC One X has many reports saying it is easily scratched but after a month only using liquid glass my phone remains in perfect condition. My luck with phones is not good and I believe glass has helped
Just got this SP in today. Haven't installed it yet, but I was supposed and excited to see that it has a single cut out for both the camera and sensor (no cut out for the notification light).
The cut of the SP looks good.
It took about 2 weeks to get in, but I was in no rush since I had a nook SP on that does the job. Plus it was only $1.95 shipped for 3 of them.
Here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E81MS02/ref=oh_details_o07_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I'll post a review later today or this weekend, but figured I'd let you guys know.

I got mine today as well. It also came with a decorative thing that you hang on your phone/device, but probably won't use it. I've always used and liked cheap SP, hopefully this one wouldn't be a fingerprint magnet like the screen on the N7.
