Hi there,
I was wondering if anybody has found out how and if it is possible to change the default behaviour of the navigation link in the HTC Car Panel.
I don't want to use HTC Locations or Google Maps but Sygic Aura instead. Already contacted HTC, but no answer from them yet. Maybe someone here can help me explain where I have to make a change to be able to put another navigation app in HTC Car Panel.
Thanks
Nobody uses the Car App or wants to change it to his/her own liking?
I am really hoping someone has some inside knowledge of the way and where the settings are stored. Then maybe I can find out myself what to do to change the app to use Sygic myself.
I had the same question about the One S, and also asked HTC. This is what they said:
"Thank you for your reply regarding your HTC One S.
I do apologise Dave, but it would not be possible to use a third party navigation app on the HTC One S when in car mode. This is the way this operating system was programmed and there are no settings or options to change this on your phone.
I do apologise for the inconvenience this may be causing you."
If anyone finds a way to prove them wrong, I'd be interested to hear it

So I'm not completely sure if its the same, but I think that the One X/EVO 4G LTE and the One S have the same software, since they are along the same model line.
But on my LTEVO I got today, I found that you can adjust the default navigation app by:
1) Open "Car" app
2) Tap the area by the signal strength, battery level, etc.
3) A settings menu should come up-- scroll all the way to the bottom and choose "Default Navigation App" to change it.
Haven't tried changing mine, but its worth a shot. Good luck!
I am already familiar with this option, but you only get to change between HTC Locations (as far as I know a Route66 clone) and Google Maps. The carr app doesn't allow the choice of some other default navigation app.
Attached a file Phone.dat that is somewhere in a map called "navigator" (not sure where exactly) where I found something that looks like a settings file:

change the 4th icon
Hi there,
sadly you can't change the navigation icon/ app, however you can change the 4th icon (standard set on TuneIn, I believe).
To do this, go to your standard music player (not in car mode), now you see in the maindisplay: my phone, TuneIn, etc.
Pressing the menu button you can add more apps like shazam or soundhound, but also apps that are not related to music like for instant Sigic!
Now in car mode you can swipe twice to the left and there you see the selected apps...choosing for instand Sigic it will make that app default in the home screen of the car mode.
So now you have a temporarly solution for 3rd party navigation apps, but still hoping HTC will come with a solution of there own soon, while the app isn't really intergrated in the car mode like Google Maps is.
Good luck!
Thank youu!!

HTC Car App settings 4 Other Nav or App eg YouTube.
Hi
I found if you add other Apps (eg CoPilot which I use), to your std HTC Music App then,
in the Car App under Navigation-Search or Search Items (eg Gas Station),
You will can choose which Nav App you want to use, either Google or
your Nav app which you added to the HTC music app. In my case I choose CoPilot.
Hope this helps someone.

If You use this way and choose to add Navi program to music shortcuts it will be displayed on main screen instead TuneIn of Car app after You use it form third screen.
It's simple solution of this problem. I use Automapa Navi program on my HTC Desire X.

That's a very effective solution;
But it's hard to understand why they provide the facility to change the music app but not the navigation app... unless they have some commercial agreement with Google.
From this what HTC support respond... i think that they have some agreement with google. I like this app so it's good that is way to put navigation shortcut on main screen.
Thanks
Thank you everybody for this simple but effective solution! I am going to try it right away.:good:

If you found updates not mentioned in the change log, please post them below.
Thanks
Compared to JP2 second edition:
[+] JP2 is missing "Edit" button to edit/remove/add Touch Wiz screens, it exists in JPC
[+] More responsive than JP2 especially after factory reset, no lag fix required (IMHO)
[+] JP2 is much darker in auto brightness settings
[+] After turning off data connections and turning them on - the connection is lost - bug fixed in JPC
[-] Serious bug in Exchange client - reply to an email sends... original message, loosing all the reply text !!! <---- THIS IS BLOCKER BUG FOR BUSINESS USERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please add it to the main list!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In general JPC seems to be "more final" build than JP2 second edition
+ The activities tab in Contact is working (never got it working in 2.1 or JP3)
+ Customisation of the 7 homepages is different (all showed on same page and size change according to number of screen)
+ SMS icon/sortcut in call keyboard
Edit: Gps working only outside (not getting any gps view inside ...)
Updated Music Player! higher res album art, volume controls on opposite sides, slightly visually different
+ better gsm signal
+ fast, responsive (although others seem to point to opposite)
+ faster CPU performance even though JIT is not enabled (from what I know)
+ no need for lagfix (again, that is available for me, others say the opposite)
Flashed from the first try, without problems, no IMEI change or other problems that seem to apply to other users.
UA string setting missing from advanced debug settings on browser.
- TouchWiz "forgets" list of installed apps quite often and has to reload it which takes quite long (about 2 min with 10 pages of apps here)
GPS is not fixed. It is much better than before but still lags considerably for car navigation and often loses position for a few seconds.
Other than that the firmware looks good.
[-] On my end appbrain does not work properly It does not see my selected apps, logging in and out does not help. checked on my computer and i see my list online.
Music Player is playing folders!

Which we would do were it not for a portion of your information being misleading or incorrect.
device vibrates once it has finished the shut down sequence
Other firmwares have done this. Not new.
GPS issues are fixed
They are improved. Still seeing slight inaccuracies with street side. Others reporting much quicker lock on but positioning still inaccurate when traveling, however with less severity.
pinch to zoom on touchwiz
Still not as smooth as the pinch to zoom out on Launcher Pro. Incorrectly detects it as an attempt to swipe the page left/right with some regularity.
# Swype auto-capitalization gets it wrong and does the first two letters instead of one
Can not reproduce this despite attempts across multiple apps. Typing "The quick brown fox jumped. He liked to jump over the dog" refuses to produce double capitalization upon auto-capping of new sentence.
product code changes
Not necessarily, some had the KOR code before flashing to JPC, and some didn't have it even after flashing. Either way it's reversible, as demonstrated in the [GUIDE] thread.
but quadrant will not score over 2000 any more (~1850)
Absolutely wrong.

Gps lock fast but don't stay lock on movement
For swype try it on skyfire (web browser) or even the stock browser almost every text box (but not the adress one)
Don't know if it's because of the firmware or something else but market is really acting crap yesterday and today.
IF an app downloads it just doesn't install... Keeps hanging on 'downloading' even though the entire amount of data is downloaded.

+ Accelerometer calibration in display menu (horizontal calibration)

Yeah, I had similar problem between 2pm and 7pm HK time too, download got stuck. It seems to be fine now.
Are the black levels fixed in the videoplayer? in JP2 it was ugly gray just like on really bad lcd screens.
For some reason I got a wierd bug, not sure how to replicate it.
When in a phone conversation, the loud speaker button got "jammed" and I couldn`t get it to turn off. I tried pushing it several times, nothing. It only ended when I closed the conversation.
Serious bug when i tried JPC
Huge memory leak with the music player when loading lots of music from the external SD
Causes the phone to grind to a halt and then hang
besides equalizer, the music player has "effect" options

I know this is XDA but I actually sold my HD2 to get a WP7 because I just wanted a fully working phone out of the box. I have zero interested in a CHH even if he did an amazing job on my HD2 and zero interested in cooking. That might change in a year or 2 but for now I'm happy with what I have
WP7 Is a great tool but still containing bugs and problems
one of the most bad things that u will feel ugly in the future is Metro Interface that will need a big changes to overcome the long list of the application you will install
CHH Is an early idea as a try to be a solution for this future problem

Just no. On all levels.
Actually really annoyed by the negative responses.
I think this is an awesome idea. it will help close the gap between win6.5 & WP7. I for one want to try out the WP7 tabs and hub concept. without loosing my TP2 and no one has produced a replacement good enough yet.
Brilliant. looking forward to trying it out. Especially if they are CHT 2.0 widgets that we can use with CHTS.

There is a lot of wasted space with Metro... specifically the rightmost column under the arrow. It would be nice to have a set of quick toggles and/or quick links that the user could choose. It needs to be within the metro design scheme and not a retread of manila (let's get past that people). Here's what I would suggest:
- Wifi toggle
- BT toggle
- Vibrate toggle
- Weather quicklink
- Calendar quicklink
- Quick lock
- Quick soft reset

Well, this would be very nice, to get official, but have an option to disable it and that it would shot just when pressed smw on the right. It would annoy me to see stuff like that if I don't need it ))
You have to think about why the space is also there. Think of it as a scroll bar. Yea, I can scroll down by sliding down "on" the tiles themselves but then I risk the chance of actually opening something that I didn't mean to open. That space also allows for a clear space to scroll without running the risk of opening something. If those other items were to the right, then I run the risk of opening something that I didn't mean to open/toggle which could lead to frustration to the end user, especially users who have bigger fingers. So that space isn't wasted as many think it is.
maybe it would be a good way to "slide" this bar in. you do the same move as sliding to the right when going to applist but instead of right you slide to the left and the bar slides in from the right side. so scrolling there would still be usable (i use that too).
and i also "slide" the status bar at top in, tapping for me often ends up opening my first applications -.-

MIUI for Beginners
Source: http://en.miui.com/a-10.html
Already flashed MIUI ROM? OK, pick up your phone now, let’s start our happy journey of MIUI ROM.
The first step: selecting apps
Various apps will greatly enrich your cell phone, so firstly let’s select the apps to your taste. Use the Android Market and download what you would like. If you are using a backup app and restoring apps from a previous ROM, only restore the apps and not the data. Otherwise that will create a lot of force close issues.
Tip: How to copy files from the computer to the phone? First connect your phone to your computer via data cable, pull down the notification panel from the top of the phone, click “USB connected”, and then click "Turn on USB storage”.
After copying, do not forget to select the option of “Turn off USB storage”, otherwise "File Manager” in the phone will not be able to find the sd card, as it is being occupied by the computer.
Now I have a lot of apps, how to put them in order?
All apps successfully installed are listed on the desktop, however, they may not be in the order you want, how to put them in order?
Long press an app icon and then you may move it freely. When it is moved to the screen border, the screen will automatically switch to the next screen.
How to add a screen? Use two fingers to pinch on the desktop to enter screen thumbnail mode. Then you may add or delete screens.
How to delete an app? Long press the app icon you want to delete, drag it on top of the trash box and click OK to delete it.
The second step: let's make your phone different.
A phone without style is nothing remarkable, so let’s make your phone different!
Changing wallpaper: Click Menu button on the desktop, select “Change Wallpaper” to replace the wallpaper. In addition to the existing wallpaper in the phone, thousands of pieces of wallpaper are also available online.
Changing theme: Themes make great changes to your interface style. Click “Theme Manager” on the desktop to select the theme you like. Also, more online themes are available online.
Selecting ringtones and more: click “Settings” on the desktop to set call and notification ringtones. In “Personalization” under “Personal” tab, you may find more options.
The third step: it’s time for some advanced techniques!
Well, you are no longer a beginner now, so let’s learn some advanced techniques.
Adding widgets on the desktop: press the Menu button on the desktop, select "Edit Mode", and then click the icon on the upper right corner to access the interface of “Add Widgets”. Choose your favorite widget on the top, and then drag it to the screen below.
Using folders to manage desktop apps: in the interface of “Add Widgets”, drag [Folder] to the desktop. You may drag multiple apps into folders to classify them. After opening the folder, you may click the edit icon in the upper left corner to rename the folder.
Using toggles panel to improve efficiency: drag the notification panel down from the top, click "Toggles" to go to the toggles panel (It goes to the toggles panel in default of notice.) On the panel are listed the most commonly used toggles, you may click to quickly enable or disable a toggle. Long press on the icon will launch the settings for that icon.
Guest mode: enable the “Guest Mode” toggle in the panel, and your calls and text messages logs will be hidden, and all installed applications cannot be removed. You may have a try when you need to show your phone to guests or children.
Importing contacts or binding accounts: you may use some apps to import a batch of contacts, or bind Google account directly in "Settings"> "Personal"> "Accounts & Sync Settings" to sync contacts at any time.
How to print screens? Press "Menu" key and "Volume Down" key at the same time to print a screen. The printed image is saved in the directory of MIUI in the SD card.
How to copy files from the computer without using the data cable? In case of a Wi-Fi connection, enter “File Manager” on the desktop, select the tab of "Remote Administration" to start the service, and then you will get an address. Enter the given address on the computer, then you may copy files without using a data cable!

I think I might leave cyanogen for this lol
*edit* so tried this out for a couple of hours
The ui is beautiful and the rom overall is smooth, but got a lot of fc from the theme chooser, nofication setting and when making phone calls.

You should. Like I've said before, after trying many many ROM's, I've come to the conclusion that MIUI is EVERYTHING that I want in my phone and there will be no looking back to any other ROM's out there.
OMG OMG OMG official miui..... not a port....
Does the official rom still have the theme engine problem? I didnt see it in the changelog, and it was the only thing keeping me from using the miui ports.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
Miui Rocks....it was the first Rom that truly set itself apart from CM roms and the like. It was my dd for a while but updates started coming out that required full rlashing, it became pointless. It seems that they are a lot more stable now....might come bqck and check them out again.
OP incredible job on the detail of your posts. One car certainly tell that you are not just theming and calling it a new tommy....cheers!

does MIUI have a good calendar/agenda app? I can't find one that beats Sense or Go Launcher EX at the moment.
Agenda Widget Plus and Pure Grid Calendar aren't as smooth or as well integrated =/
So beautiful and so tempting but it seems that it will never ever manage to utilize the functionality of the G2's Quick Keys =(

Same. Also does that when changing ringtones for notifications, though they do seem to apply anyway.

Should be fixed with today's (Friday) build.
With all due respect, what is the benefit of an 'official' MIUI ROM over any of the currently-maintained ports such as OsiMood? It does not seem like we are going to get G2-specific features like Quick Keys or Tab working.
Is the performance any better than these 'unofficial' ports?

This being official, I would assume that they are going to look at the g2 specific features a bit more?
Maybe I'm just being optimistic
Ima give the 3 roms a whirl, finally.
My phone number: Unknown
One issue I've noticed with this as well is that it can't read my phone number from the SIM card. That can cause issues with certain apps that require it (like TikL, for example).
Menu > Settings > System > About Phone > More information > Status
For me, that shows "My phone number: Unknown". And yes, I am sure my phone number is present on the SIM.
The Supreme Start Menu customization tool!
This application allows you to create and customize shortcuts (tiles) for 71 stock settings/menus/apps. A special thank you goes out to all of you on XDA Developers who helped and encouraged me to develop this application.

Thanks for this app !

Hi MJCS,
Can you add a shortcut for "Internet Explorer" please ??
I want to custom tile of Internet Explorer and we can't because it's an application system !!!
If you create a shortcut, we can custom tile of this shortcut and pin it to the home ...
Your application it's a way to custom Tile of System application !!!! ... All peoples are waiting for it
Thankx,
Poloche
Could you add the attached shortcut (works only on Samsung devices) to your app ?
I think smaller icons fit better to the system icons but this is just a question of personal taste. The package only include the icons you can see on the screenshot.
For my personal use I also changed SplashScreenImage to black...
This works wonders =]
I have posted about it [APP] Supreme Shortcuts.
Do you have a video demo of the application working on a phone or would you like for me to create one?
Also are you going to be making any other useful homebrew applications for Windows Phone? =]
Thanks @wphomebrew

** UPDATE **
Fixed.
In the next version I will be making it so you can access the 32 or so Stock applications. I will NOT be adding options to run 3rd party or OEM applications. I will also be adding the option to set the icon of all the apps within the application itself.
How about adding the possibility to enter a custom GUID and icon-name ? So the user will be able to pin whatever he wants if he knows the GUID....

Just out of curiosity: are you going to publish the app on the MS Marketplace as well?
Hi !
Very good app ! Thanks for it
It's very usefull !
It will be cool if French language will in the other release .
I can send you French translation for the app , tell me if you want ...

+1 !!!!
If the user can choose all GUID Marketplace, Homebrew and Applications System, your apps will be the first "CUSTOM Tile" with Mango !!!
Avoid task killers
It is best to avoid task killers such as Advanced Task Killer. Android is designed to automatically pre-load certain applications, even if you don't load them yourself. If it starts to run low on memory, it will smartly unload the oldest running apps automatically.
Manually killing tasks will only mean they get loaded in memory again. Task killers can make the phone slow, laggy, or drain battery life more quickly.
Bookmark a contact on your homescreen
To bookmark a contact on your homescreen, long press on the home screen background and select Shortcuts. Then select Direct dial.
If you call someone regularly this can be useful as you will have a shortcut to them handily placed on your homescreen
Bookmark a web page on your homescreen
To bookmark a website on your homescreen, go into your browser and find the bookmark of the page you want to create a shortcut for.
Then long press on the bookmark and select Add Shortcut to Home.
If you regularly visit certain websites, this can be handy as you will have a shortcut to the site on your homescreen.
Create folders to tidy your Apps
If you find yourself with too many Apps on the homescreen, then you can create folders to organise them.
To start, simply press and hold on an App and drag it over the top of another App. The App should change colour/shape. Then release your finger and the two Apps will be combined into a folder.
You can then drag more Apps into this folder using the same process.
To give your folder a label, simply long press on the folder and you will be able to enter a name.
Double tap for a full stop (period)
While typing emails or notes, you can simply tap the space key twice and the phone will insert a full stop / period
Install new keyboard to improve accuracy
The standard Android keyboard is good, but not great. There are many third party keyboards available which will improve your typing speed and accuracy.
Go to the Android Market and search for 'Keyboard' to see some great alternatives, many of which are more accurate and make typing much easier.
A good one is GoKeyboard.
If you see a warning saying the keyboard will collect all information (including credit cards) just ignore this. This is just a security feature that Android shows for every third-party keyboard that you install.
Accents and special characters
If you want to type non-English letters (eg those with an accent), long-press on the relevant letter. A list of options will appear for you to select.
Access the scientific calculator
To access the scientific calculator, rotate the phone to landscape mode.
The calculator will change to a scientific one
Add email or phone number from text
To add an email or phone number to your contacts from a text message, you can long-press on the email / phone number. Then select Add to contacts
Add widget to the homescreen
To add a widget, go to the homescreen and press the Apps icon (the circle with 6 dots). Then you will see a list of your Apps with the word Apps and Widgets at the top. Press Widgets, then you will be presented with a list of available widgets.
To add a widget, press and hold on it and then position it where you want
Android Easter egg
There is an Easter egg hidden in the Android operating system. To see it, go to your Homescreen, then press Menu - Settings - About phone.
Then tap on the Android version option 5 times and you will get a surprise.
Sometimes it doesn't work, so try a couple of times. By the way don't expect to see an actual Easter Egg. That is just the name given to things hidden inside software or operating systems.
Auto focus the camera
When taking photos or videos, tap the screen where you want to focus on. The phone will automatically adjust the settings to improve the image or video
Bring up more predicted words
If you have word prediction enabled while you are typing, you can long press the middle word that is suggested. This will bring up a menu allowing you to select various other suggested words.
Browse websites in full-screen mode
If you want to browse in full screen mode, without the URL bar at the top of the browser, then you can enable this..
Open the standard browser and press Menu - Settings - Labs. Then put a check mark under Full Screen .
To get access to the browser options (that are now invisible), there is now a neat hidden menu. Slide your finger in from the left or right of the screen. A circular menu will appear with various options.
Capture a still shot while recording video
To capture a still shot while recording a video, simply tap the screen while you are recording.
This will save a still image.
Change keyboards
To change keyboards (if you have additional keyboards installed), you can switch between them by pressing the small keyboard symbol in the top left of your screen. You will need to be in keyboard input mode (i.e. typing something) for this to work.
Note: you need to have more than one keyboard installed for this to work
Change quick response texts
The phone has the ability to send quick response text messages if your phone is ringing but you can't answer it.
To change these, go to your Dialer App - Settings - Quick responses. You can only have 4 of them and you may need to edit existing ones.
Change the backlight screen timeout
To change the backlight screen timeout, go to Settings - Display - Screen. Then choose the screen time out duration.
You can also tell the phone screen to always stay lit when it is plugged in via USB. Go to Settings - Developer Options. Then check Stay Awake.
Change the screen brightness
To change the screen brightness, start from the Homescreen and press Menu - Settings - Display - Brightness.
Then choose the desired brightness setting. You can also select Automatic brightness to let the phone decide for you.
If you have auto-brightness enabled, you can also press, hold and slide the top notification bar left and right. The brightness will increase and decrease accordingly.
Check phone status and battery usage
To find out information about Signal Strength, Network Information, Remaining Battery Time and Battery Usage (by Application), go to your Homescreen - Menu - Settings - About Phone.
Check the firmware version
To check your firmware version, start from the Homescreen and press Menu - Settings - About Phone- software version
This should list your Android version, Build number and Model Number.
Copy files between your phone and PC using WiFi
To copy files between your phone and PC, go to the Android Play Market and download an app called AirDroid.
This is an extremely useful App that connects your phone to your PC wirelessly, allowing you to move files and many, many other things.
Copying iTunes songs to Android
If you have decided to ditch your iPhone in favour of Android, then there is a simple way to take your iTunes music, playlists and album art with you.
Simply go the Android Marketplace and download a Free App called Easy Phone Tunes. You will also need the computer version of the software, so go to http://easyphonetunes.com and download it from there.
Then, when that is done, turn your phone into a USB storage device (this will vary from device to device, but instructions are on the website).
Once your phone is connected to your computer, open the computer version of the software and select your device from the Easy Phone Tunes list. Then follow the instructions to Sync your media
Create folders in your Quick Launch bar
If you have used up all of your Quick Launch spaces, then there is a trick.
Once it is full, press and drag an App from the homescreen and move it over the top of an App in the Quick Launch area. Then release your finger. This will create a folder containing the original App plus the new one. This is a great way to have access to regularly used App
Create shortcut to websites on your home screen
To create a shortcut to a website on your homescreen, go to your browser bookmarks.
Then long press on a site and select Add shortcut to Home
Customise your favourites tray
At the bottom of each homescreen is your favourites tray, which consists of 5 icons. You can customise it by adding icons to the tray. If it's full however, you will first need to remove some.
To remove an icon, simply press and hold an icon. Then drag it to your desktop.
Then to add a new one, simply drag an icon from your homescreen to the favourites tray.
Enable / disable vibrate / haptic feedback when you type
To disable / enable vibrate (also called haptic feedback) when you type or press the screen, go to Settings - Language & input - Settings.
Then uncheck Vibrate on keypress.
Enable sideload of Apps
If you want to install Apps outside of the Android Market (called sideloading), then go to Settings - Security - Unknown sources.
Note: use at your own risk.
Help, I have forgotten my unlock pattern
If you have forgotten your custom unlock pattern, then don't panic.
After 5 unsuccessful tries a button should appear saying 'Forgot pattern'. Press this and you will be asked to enter your Gmail username/password.
The phone will then ask for a new unlock pattern. If you don't have a Gmail account, then you might have to either call your carrier or factory reset your phone.
Hide folders or files
If you want to hide folders or files from being index or displayed, simple put a . (full stop / period) before the file or folder name.
Make volume / music louder
WARNING: Making your volume or music louder can damage your hearing.
Most phones have their volumes limited by local laws to protect our hearing. There is a way to boost your volume however. Go to the Android Market and download an App called Volume+ (Sound Boost). There is also a free version called Volume+ Free.
You will need to root your phone for this App to work.
Make your phone run faster
Here are the top 5 tips to make your phone run faster:
1) Use only essential widgets on your homescreen - each widget consumes memory and processing power which can slow your down your phone.
2) Uninstall apps that you don't use - after awhile your phone can get cluttered as some Apps are designed to always run in the background. If you rarely use an App, then uninstall it to free up memory and CPU resource.
3) Install Apps to your phone memory - if you have an SDCard, always install Apps to the phone memory, which can be accessed faster. If you have Apps on the SDCard, then move them back to the phone memory with an App called Move2SD available from the Play Market.
4) Use Static rather than Live wallpapers - Live wallpapers consume processing power and memory. Unless you really must have them, uninstall them.
5) Kill tasks occasionally - Some Apps will run in the background indefinitely unless you kill them. Most of them won't cause a problem, but it pays to check your running tasks from time to time. Hold down your Home key and check the Task Manager.
One last thing: Don't use Task Killers. Android manages tasks very well and Task Killers just make your phone unstable and can slow it down further
note this guide is mainy to help the people who didnt recieved a manual instructions booklet along with their phone like my country(INDIA)
Thanks.
+1 here too.

Bookmark a contact on your homescreen
To bookmark a contact on your homescreen, long press on the home screen background and select Shortcuts. Then select Direct dial.
If you call someone regularly this can be useful as you will have a shortcut to them handily placed on your homescreen

paarthdesai, you've listed good things but this thing slows down the phone (at least my One V). When I had put 4 contacts in a folder and kept it on the homescreen and when I tried to use speed dial, it was even slower. When I touched the bookmarked contact, the phone got stuck (not completely, I could always use the Home capitative touch button)(But yes, this happened everytime). And then, the 'Dialer' app never worked. After about 10-15 seconds, the conatact was automatically called. Now tell me this is Speed Dail or Slow Dial?

The One V actually shipped with 4.0.3, and the easter egg has been present in stock ICS since the very beginning. It was never included on HTC ROMs though - your guide (which you copied and pasted off another website) was obviously written from the perspective of stock Android ICS.
RE options for live wallpapers, the menu list you've shown is only available on that custom ROM. Or rather, it is the modified stock launcher that provides that option. If you use something like Apex Launcher, you can pick a live wallpaper by hold pressing on an empty space. If you want to use the stock launcher though, there is a solution. A lot of live wallpapers will automatically bring you to the selection screen for them when you open their icon. One such wallpaper:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fishnoodle.spacescapewallpaper_free
So you can definitely get live wallpapers on a stock ROM. It's just a limitation of the Sense launcher. They run pretty well too.
1st of all if u think it's copied provide a link to prove it
and pin point
and my base is 2.0.8
soo it is available in that base
new thing added along with hd media sync and display gestures
and my main thread was in. android general http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1723643
just copied from there so that could add new features that all users know
