4.0.2.a.0.62 arc s root

hi i gust wanted to know about 4.0.2.a.0.62 arc s root
is there any way to root 4.0.2.a.0.62 devises ?
their is just unlock ur bootloader then ! im satisfied .58 il wait for ICS to come
or you can downgrade to .42, and root. I did the same thing, and removed few built in apps that I don't use, and every morning I get 200MB of free RAM, and in normal usage I get 170MB free RAM + the phone got a lot faster than it was on .62
But I dont want to unlock bootloader and lose the warranty and OTA update

Downgrade to .42 build and root.
There are some root methods for .62, but idk. Just look and search.

I downgraded using Flashtools and didn't have to unlock my boot loader, just flash the system file, and the kernel file. and you will be fine

I did it just few minutes ago and no need unlock BL
1. Flash to 42 or 58 firmware by flashtool. I download from below linkhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1357841
2. Root ur phone by flashtool again.
U can change the CDA before use US or PCC then back to orginal 62 FW.
Cheers
PS.sorry my poor english
Solved
1. Unlock the Bootloader
2. Install Doomlord Stock Kernel 1.6 ( Pre rooted)
3. Install .62 stock Kernel from .ftf file (Root remains from Doomlord Stock Plus Kernel 1.6 even after installing .62 Rom kernel agian)
4. Re-lock the bootloader with the help of Flashtool.
5. You have Stock ROM rooted and with locked bootloader.

Download Arc S LT18i (4.0.2.a.0.62 Offical ROM) : http://www.mediafire.com/?6fs6iry9spv78mb
You can install Arc Rom on ARC S by some tweaks but it makes your ARC S slow as the default CPU speed in ARC is 1 Ghz and our ARC S is 1.4 ghz by default.
Download the .ftf file from the above link and install it through Flash Tool.
@jaipurwasi80 Thank for answer and help.
I think the problem(arc s as arc(cpu)) can fix with overlock and upgrade 1,6 or 2,0 ghz, cant it?

I have used the same file for my Arc S( LT18i) and its worked fine for me along with the Latest Flash tool. I hope you are using the .ftf file in Flashtool and your phone in flashboot mode.
OR
Go to www.wotanserver.com and download its client on your PC to Install any Offical Sony Ericsson ROM. You need to make a free account on the site and while installing you can choose to install 4.0.2.a.0.62 offical ROM.

[Q] Installing ICS on xperia play with 2.3.2 (rooted locked bootloader)?

I wanna say that you would need an ICS kernel , which you would need to unlock your BL for.. and the system on your phone wont matter, since ICS isn't official on our plays your will need to instal a custom Rom which will overwrite everything anyway
Thanks

Well I did some reading and I think you will need an unlocked BL and at least be on the .42 firmware, 2.3.4 like you originally posted. I know there are a few ICS roms that work in the developer section. But I think for the official beta release your gonna wanna follow what Sony said.
Edit: looks like you have to fastboot a boot.img and userdata.img and system.img

You'll be able to get ICS without an unlocked bootloader once the official update is released, since the official releases can be made into files for flashtool.
Aside from the fact it'll be done through SEUS.

[Q] Noobish question about flashing ICS

So the new ICS .ftf is out now.
What I want to know is the next:
After flashing ICS 4.0.4, can I still go back to Gingerbread with the respective .ftf file and Flashtool? Or once updated, it can't go back?
Also, would I be able to use Custom ROMs like CM 7.2 or CM 9 while on ICS?
Thanks in advance.
up up up up up up up
You can go back but you may have issues, if say you had gb2.3.4 build .42 THEN YOU WiLL NEED TO FLASH .62 THEN GO BACK TO .42.
I don't recommend going from ics 4.0.3/4.0.4 then 2.3.4 .42 without .62.
As all cases the risk is there.
Sent from my LT15i using xda premium
I had build .58, but in any case, I can tell that as well I would have to go to .62 then to .58.
At least there is a way.
Anyways, I'm really ok with custom ROMs and Kernels, I haven't seen any reason why to move to ICS, just wanted to know.

I have read that you also need an older version of flashtools as v8.xxxxx no longer supports gb, I cant confirm this but it may be something to remember if ever you went back.

AOKP! But needs unlocked bootloader..

I'm using the World Generic 4.04 stock rom, and find it occasionally locks up and crashes, I do like the feel and style of ICS but dont think its been perfected for the Arc yet, if I could unlock my bootloader i'd try other roms, so its between ICS or Gingerbread for me

Try out both GB and ICS rooted and see what you like. Many mods currently are for ICS but there are some old GB mods kicking around in the back pages of the forum.
GB is more stable in general but ICS is bearable in my opinion.

I recommend you to try out custom ICS roms. If you don't want to use custom, then I would highly suggest you to stay with stock GB.. as stock ICS sucks =[
Try ics
