I'm currently on aokp m5 trinity k and kk6. The data keeps on hanging it shows full bars and it constantly changes from h to 3g. I go into the web or anything with data and it hangs. I have tried latest radio and kernel nothing I'm on T-Mobile anything I'm missing

I randomly lost my data on my flashed epic on cricket..and my phone keeps popping up the hands free activation...plus when connected to wifi it constantly shuts off then reconnects....but my device still says 3g on it but no data...help please?

Did you flash something on top of that custom rom that was tailored for cricket? Did you back to up your rom before this? Sounds like you flashed over your custom rom for cricket. If you backed it is up, do a nand restore.

I didnt flash any roms or anything. And i just restored a backup right after the phone was flashed to cricket and it says 3g but i still have no data

As far as I know, unless they installed a custom rom, you never had 3G working with cricket in the first place.

3g works on cricket with the stock rom, the only thing that doesnt work stock is mms. what rom are you using? I have several cricket roms for the epic.
does it matter? i have sleeper_ROM, i just tried editing all the profiles in qpst. i have 3g icon and now with the upstream bar and downstream bar animates but it no avil. I still cant load pages in browser
In cm9 latest few nightlies, I occasionally loss internet connection, about once a day.
Power widget, go setting /mobile network don't work. Need reboot.
Is a rom specific problem?

Any idea what is causing this notification to pop up? Data still works during and even changes from 4g to 3g but with same download speeds.

I am having the same problem as well. I am having radio dropping out issues I haven't had before.
Keep getting Greyed out connection have to clear cache and data returns. It says I have full bars but no actual data. What's the issue?

What version of the ROMs are you running? The grey bar as opposed to the blue bar just means you are not connected to your Google account. You should see a logo above the bars saying 4G, H, or 3G if you have data, regardless of the color.
There is a known issue in the latest cm10.1 nightly builds that cause loss of data. Not sure about AOKP unfortunately.

I'm on task 4.2.1. I get this with only with open source rims. I never lose with touch wiz rims. But I like open source roms better. A reboot clears it up.

There are various fixes for the data issue that people have reported success with - re-flashing modems, toggling the mobile data setting repeatedly, playing with APN settings (turn off mobile data, reboot phone, toggle APN setting to something else and back, re-enable mobile data), etc.
Have you looked through the 4.2 threads here?

I would say wipe and reflash. I don't think anyone on Tasks ROM is having this issue. I for one know I'm not. Are you on his latest 12.23 version?

It's definitely not specific to any rom it happens on aosp roms no matter who makes it. I will try a re flash but I have done that plenty times. I its honestly random and then requires a reboot

I have had a similiar problem in the past and couldn't find a fix. I looked for a good bit but had other options i wanted to try anyway so the answer is probably out there. However after i flashed a the next newest version things were ok. That shouldn't be long in this case and hopefully it works for you.

What is the trick to get the mobile data to kick in. The signal bars show signal but they are greyed out, not blue like when connected. I tried updating profile and prl but cannot connect even tried over WiFi but no luck. Sprint GNex GA02 modems.

Try different radios. Fh05 work much better than ga02 for me

Happened to me on BB7 and the fix was to change from LTE/CDMA to just CDMA (or vice versa) uncheck mobile data wait 15 or so seconds then turn it back on and then if/when I saw the 3g icon Id update profile then prl.
I have tried that, and mine still isn't blue. I switched from TouchWiz to CM10 last week and at first, the signal bars and WiFi indicator were both blue. Now they are grey. And yes, my Sync is on.
