I've tried three KF ICS custom roms so far.
reloaded, gede (love the option of hiding nav/status bar), and AOKP.
On Reloaded and gedeROM, whenever I play certain games (not all. But issue persists on games with this), the sound will drop for a random amount of time. Sometimes for few seconds, others a minute or three. The game continues to play fine, and sound comes back eventually only to go away again.
Is this a known issue? Does this only happen to select few kindles? I've been searching around for half an hour, and I've only found couple replies on ROM threads with no answers.
could anyone viewing this thread replying whether they have experienced this issue or not?
If this issue is specific to only me, then I'd like to ask amazon for a replacement.

thanks for the reply.
I did look through the new 3.0 kernel and its issues and saw that.
But it's not that the volume is low, the sounds (music, sfx) work great in games, then suddenly there's no more sound. The sound comes back, then disappears again.
The issue persists on speakers AND headphones.
you guys should post whether you've ever seen this issue. help!
Never had this problem so far. All ICS ROM tested.

just want to make sure that we have the same problem.
Exactly, for example it happens on Mega Jump and Cut the Rope but never on Death Rally! I'm using Hashcode's CM9 .

you could simply have something muted
You could download a volume app and see if media is turned off or something. Your sound probably works fine since you have alarms working.

I had this happen on gedeROM. Did you try restarting your device?
Edit: whoops didn't read all of your post lol.
Try reflashing your ROM.

I re flashed the rom, but nothing seemed to have changed, but reluctantly I followed the advice of joshuabg and it worked, the sound all works! so thnx guys!

factory reset, format /system, redowload ROM, compare md5sum's, if it's a match, push it to the device; compare md5sum's, if it's a match, reflash ROM. Flash gapps (optional, I guess). As for the weak connection, play around with your router's WiFi settings, switch channels, use some WiFi monitor to check other networks near by, the usual;
Finally, check c) option below, if all this doesn't work.

Please don't hijack threads. That means either a) "search" for the most similar issue to yours and try to follow what has been attempted to solve it (you may have defective hw, for example); b) perform the steps I just said to the op and try again; if you don't know how, I suggest you read up on the many good guides stocked/stickied on general and q&a; c) if b) doesn't solve it, get a logcat while booting up with WiFi on and post it on the ROM's dev thread, don't bump threads.
But the question remains, are you even on AOKP 4.2.x? If not, this thread is definately not for you.
Note: there's a reason why I'm not suggesting custom kernels.

I had a Note 8 for a short time which had this issue but ive noticed it on my gpad 8.3 v500 when its in landscape.
The issue is when im scrolling the screen one side lags behind the other if you do it quickly enough...so if i do it Up and down it gives a wobble effect. Noticable in netflix too.
Has anyone had this? Im hoping its a jellybean issue as i said my note 8 was the same.
Not a deal breaker but it does bug me.

Have you installed any background-running apps that may cause this problem? I don't know what can cause screen stuttering like you have. Have you thought about installing CM? It works great and is 1000 times faster than stock

Yes i have thought about it......but id need an idiots guide as ive never done that before...
Also im sure ive read 4.4 ota is coming soon , so i was going to hang on for it....

There are only guides for root and recovery, CM is only wiping and flashing. I will post links when I get home (although I'm pretty sure you can find them yourself in the All things guide thread, I recommend TWRP)
The OTA 4.4 update is very far away, march at least (I have my sources)

Try enabling the developer options (you dont need root and a howto can be found on google) and turn off all the transitions and see if your lag goes away.

I flashed CM11 onto my Gpad but i didnt like it ( personal preference) ive now got the latest Mahdi Rom which is very much like the Nexus5 that i was wanting.
but still i get this lag in Lanscape mode when im scrolling up and down....one side lags to give a wobble effect.

In all apps or only in some? I see a stutter in certain apps that do not cache things far enough ahead (i.e. twitter) when I have the client configured to show the twitpics. However once I know everything is loaded I can scroll up and down without any stuttering problem. Some browsers also have this problem since they also only seem to load in memory the stuff that is rendered on the screen...
Based on what you describe I'm not certain that your wobble and my stutter are the same thing though...

Ive just gone back to Stock LG for the KitKat update and i still get the scrolling wobble effect in landscape.
Its not a deal breaker but it just bugs me....im suprised no one else has seen this.

I have just installed release 2 and resorted apps. Will run for a couple of days and report back.

In terms of observations, you're doing great for an alpha build! I have noticed that AudioFX will stop responding after a little while of listening to music on Bluetooth. This doesn't actually stop the music (or even make the music sound different so not a big issue). Secondly I have noticed the same clock issue that was present when installing custom kernels. The date resets itself and than then throws up a WhatsApp error because it knows the phone can't have gone back in time. Its already been solved by the custom kernels dev's so hopefully just a quick pull from github.
Otherwise I would say a very usable build and I will be staying on this as my daily
Requests: I would have several but one hopefully quick one would be to have the ability to hide the Root icon. That option would fit nicely in Settings, Status Bar, Status Bar Icons.

Got a few questions about where this may go?
1) Will you do any work on the kernel or will you leave that sort of stuff to other devs?
2) Any view on OTA's and Delta OTA's so we don't have to do full ROM flashes?
3) would you consider adding the ability to control the media scanner. Frequency of scan, manual scan and stop scan at boot?
4) I have reduced resolution and DPI. As such the boot animation goes out of line. Would you be able to include the coding to properly select resolution (rather than having to go to terminal) and then change Tue boot animation to the correct resolution)?
Fully appreciate that you are currently a team of one person. Some or all of these may not fit with your vision of the ROM so no worries if you don't take them on board.

Hi guys, I just want to know if somebody has the same problem as me and if there's a solution. I'm actually using the slimdragons 3.0 rom, and overall it's great but I find typing difficult more than miui, I mean sometimes when I write too fast touchscreen doesnt recon the letter or it types another letter when I was using miui the touchscreen was perfect. Is it only me and my mind or there's a real problem behind what I'm saying?

I've experienced this issue using Hexa-Project and the old build of the LineageOS. Actually the problem is with the multi-touch. When I had the issue, restarting the phone several times used to solve the issue.

I got the same problem with older LineageOS build and i had to fix it restarting the phone.
Now i did a Factory Reset clean and flashed lastest LineageOS build and the mult-touch problem is gone :good:
