Browser selecting text issue - HTC One X

Hello guys,
I'm using the one X from several days already and got the two updates also and now i'm on 1.29 europe version.
Now when I needed i noticed that's impossible to select text with the browser. It jusg start messing, and you can't do anything. I cant tell if this problem persists in the previous versions of the FW, Because i guess is the browser issue, but if someone found a solution for fixing this will be appreciated.
Thanks

I just long press on the text brings up the two "tab" to select the text without issue.

Hi,
that's odd! When I long press I get the tabs either, but when I try to select something, they became acting crazy. Is it possible to be only me? the phone is brand new i I have installed only a few messengers like whatsapp and few other, but my point is that I just start using it on max, and such minor things makes me crazy..
please if someone noticed DA same issue, report here, at least to know that Im not the only one.
Thanks

If I can't figure it out, at one point it was okay yesterday then it came back so im thinking its a background program and when I reboot it starts up

ALL you have to do is press the search button, i dont know about the capacitive one but i usually do the hardware one (its closer and im not sure if the other one works) and start typing and everything will be fine!

This has been covered extensively, it's the Quick Launch function. If you don't use it, go into Settings/Applications/Quick Launch and turn off all the key mappings there.

Volume Control Issue

not a major issue but an annoyance, my handset has started putting it's self from vibrate to silent all on its own, happens randomly even did it now whilst I was browsing the forum, I didn't press any buttons either.
This only seems to have happened after HTC released the first update to unbranded phones.
Has anyone else come across this?

To add to this it seems to happen when the the wifi connection or mobile connection is lost

I'm assuming no one else has had this issue? Can't see any mention of it, if I get time tomorrow I will contact HTC

3 dot menu ICS option...

Hi all, I've done a number of searches and can't remember if I've made this up in my head. But do I remember correctly reading that HTC were planning an update to include and option to disable the 3 dot menu for non ICS optimised apps?
Thanks

I don't know if they are. I read that someone had looked into the latest update and had seen some coding suggesting that HTC are. If someone can let us know that'd be great as the button annoys me.

You can simply root your phone, get the CWM and get this fix from the developers here on XDA.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25063642&postcount=279
This will remove your 3dot menu bar and simply assign the menu when you long press home or recent apps button.
I was hoping to avoid root for a while unless an alternative to htc-dev was found.

I've read somewhere that an exploit has been found but so far no root method without unlocking your bootloader has been posted.

Flashing pictures on FB

Anyone else suddenly experiencing this? Just started one day. I'm about to reset and see if it fixes anything.
What I'm experiencing is opening facebook and either getting a white screen for a long time, when I scroll and load a new page on news feed and then scroll back up it finally loads. But when pictures loaf they are just Grey unless I'm scrolling over them then the.picture flashes in and out. I've uninstalled updates and its the same... I've rebooted its the same.

I think it has to do with the last Facebook app. Right after I installed the last update, I've been having the same problems.
Its Facebook and their crappy app.

I got the same thing.

Thank God I'm not the only one. I thought I was going crazy. My wife's atrix isn't having this issue.

I have been having the same issue for about a week.
Please make sure you report it to Facebook (they cant fix it if they don't know its broken).
To report it:
In the Facebook app, hit the menu button on the phone, tap About, and then tap on the "Please submit bug reports by clicking here"
this opens a web browser where you can tap "Somethings not working"
On the next screen, scroll down to the bottom where you tab "report an issue" which expands the selection, and then you can tap "please let us know"
From there enter you bug report.
Thanks

Either that or there is an email link for the app in the Play store to submit issues. Or do both. The issue isn't present on my Xperia P only the ion. (can't test the Xperia S its getting the yellow tint issue fixed)
Even the mobile site is acting strange , who else is having problems it's not loading the pictures

mobile site works fine for me. sometimes the app works fine for me as well. i used to think facebook is being retarded again but seems like it's not facebook's fault this time.
I have the same problem.
I too have this issue, however... I have found a constant. When I open my Facebook app, and its loading the feed, that's when my pictures flash. If I scroll down to essentially load those next few pictures, and then back up, it stops. Every time.

Wonder why? Dont have this problem on my Xperia S
My flashing pictures issue seems to be getting a little better, doesn't do it right away now, will start flashing after I scroll down and more images have to load. I do not have auto update turned on and has not done an update for a while.
My version is 1.9.7 anyone tried uninstalling the updates to see if an oldre version would work?

Yes.. didn't change. Even reinstalled updates and uninstalled again. Nothing.

Just my 2 cents, but might it have something to do with the stock Facebook Timescape app? Maybe they are both trying to access the same information and creating a bug in the FB app.

Tried without authorizing Timescape. Same issues. nd it's only the app itself for me. The mobile site and full site both work fine.
I've actually switched. Now using timescape and.pulse to check my facebook. Flipboard is OK but doesn't show the entire feed always. Timescape will just have to do till the app is fixed

I too have been experiencing this, and it seams to have gotten worse in the past few days.
Sent from my LT28at using xda app-developers app
Yeah, it's a huge annoyance to me. I don't even really attempt to open up the app on my ion. Until it's fixed, I will continue to browse facebook on my BlackBerry Bold. I keep hoping for another update to be pushed out to see if this problem will be resolved.

Unable to select suggested words when typing.

This started this morning. If I try selecting a word it has suggested, it either selects one of the letters on the keyboard below that word or one of the buttons above, say if I'm typing a tweet it will select the location button or add photo button

Or the submit button like just then! It's annoying me now. Anyone else had this problem? I've tried restarting it and recalibrating screen and keyboard but nothing has helped.
