Add phone app to nav bar - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

After seeing some of the new Blackberry 10 screenshots, I noticed that it has soft buttons like Android 4.
Is it possible to add a phone icon to the left of the back button to launch the app?
Like so:

Would be dope.

Thanks, but I'm not interested in leaving CM9.
Is there another way?

Bump for more info

AOKP, unless CM adds it as part of their rom.

Quick Settings / Quick Toggles

Hi all
Is there a quick toggle mod for the notification drop down menu like found on stock TouchWiz and Sense devices? Not looking for widgets on the "desktop"
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
You can try Widgetsoid in the Market. It will allow you to place themed toggles in the notification area without a widget. Just make sure you select "hide widgets".
That could work, however, I was looking more for a hard mod that could be flashed in there, like in past devices that I've used that didn't feature this by default (back in the Sense 2.1 days).
Like this? Its available on this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1383210

I haven't seen a separate mod. You can always ask the rom developer to make a flashable zip for you.

Yes, as long as the major toggles are all there (wifi, bt, gps, etc...) that is exactly it. Of course, on Touch Wiz, it's just one horizontal line of toggles (like the widget on the Nexus), and that is the cleanest. On sense 3.0, it's a vertical list of toggles.

It only has the 3 toggles at the moment.

I'm using widgetzoid but I would love the toggle bar from SGS2 ported to the gn.

I tried turning on the notification toggle in widgetsoid, it doesn't even show up for me.
Also, seeing how the music player can have different buttons in the same row, I don't see why it can't be possible for other apps to use this functionality too.
Edit: Widgetsoid works perfectly, almost exactly the same as the CM toggle bar (sans the side scrolling)
Someone should be able to make a new app for ics,
you can add buttons in the dropdown now so it should be possible with out a custom rom or even root
Is this what you are looking for?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1037817
"With this app, you can place different toggles into your Android status/notification bar for quick access without having a dozen toggle-widgets on your homescreens
You can choose which toggles to display in the settings of the app. You can also choose to combine different toggles into one "all in one" notification.
Unfortunately, on most devices you can only define one action per notification, so on these it will show a small dialog with the available toggles when clicking on the "all in one" notification. But some devices (seems like all devices with HTC Sense ROM) can distinguish where in the notification you clicked and on these you don't have to see the dialog.
The app is for free in the Android market, would be nice to get some feedback"

Notification Toggles Status Bar

Any way of getting these in the status bar without putting on CM9 or something?
Thanks guys
Also, what do people recommend for the themes for stock?
For a stock rom you'll have to use Widgetsoid: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...ed_apps#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEwOSwiY29tLmppbTIiXQ..
Not the most intuitive app to set up, but once you have it set up, it works well. It can run in your notification drawer.
There are basic AOSP roms that don't have a ton of tweaks that have notification toggles, without stepping to far out of the box.
Another vote for Widgetsoid.

Transparent navigation bar

Does anyone know if this is possible to do. I think it would give our nexus a better full screen effect.
Anything is possible but it supposedly killed performance on old versions
But I would also like to see this in the future
And also there are multiple threads explaining this bump

Yes it is possible... But you're going to have to do some decompiling and compiling and change the status bar back ground .PNG file and recompile the .apk....

+1 woulb be kinda cool maybe in the future it will be standard for most roms or atleast a option
well, you can't get transparent navigation bar in JB by changing the background only, but you have to do your changes in smali too
A black to transparent fade in both status and navbar would be sweet as hell.
Please make this happen <3
Just like in Atrix HD
Bump! lookin' forward to this mod
What does the atrix launch with? ICS or jb?
Bump! i'd love it!

ICS for sure. When JB was released, it was only available for the Galaxy nexus, nexus S and motorola XOOM, and the Atrix was out before that
What's with all the talk about status bars? The guy asked about the navigation bar (where the soft keys are)
Haven't seen anything about it. But I agree that it would be pretty sweet and I would be down.
I've read on another thread that someone managed to make the navbar transparent. Only problem was the glow from touch stayed after using the buttons...
Haven't read that thread in a while, think it died.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
I have been thinking about this too since the day I got my Gnex..
I use a black background usually, but I think it'd be very very cool to get the navbar to be transparent. Even if the button glow had to be removed (when I run AOKP, I turn the button glow off anyway - I think it looks retarded how it gets cut off on the top and bottom on shorter nav bars).
Would definitely be interested in seeing something done here.
Couldnt we just get a cm build from them and copy the framework required?
I'd love a transparent volume indicator. I know its available but I want to have it on the stock Google ROM.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app

Awesome would be 80 or 100% transparebt Statusbar i think kind of easier. But i don't know either.. but i may be wrong

[JB] AOKP VS. CNA... Helping devs out!

Ok, I decided to start this thread in order for these roms to get better. It's not just a question of who's the best but this thread aims to provide both groups with users expreriences in order for their roms to get better. In order for us to do that we need to state our:
** likes for each rom
** dislikes
** battery life
** other bugs
** suggestions
If you ask why I choose those to roms, it's just because they're my two favorites. Respect to all devs here us their work is simly amazing. Thread starts while AOKP is on build 3 and CNA on 3.6 release.
The only thing that I hate about aokp is their notification toggles. It doesnt fit at all!! (In the JB statusbar) while the power widget from cm10 fits like google put it in. So if aokp redisigns their toggles it would be nice.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
CNA has an unroot option in the menu. Personally I prefer to have an unrooted device, but I like the customization of the ROM. It can be the best of both worlds.

See the toggles are what I love about aokp. I know I'm in the minority. Those toggles are stock jelly bean toggles just FYI.

same here, those toggles are my favorite, that power widget is the first thing i get rid of - i think it's an eyesore.
I was on CNA and its good but missing some features that I like in AOKP & CM10. Like the cm10 percentage battery and Led options like in aokp Also the navbar soft key customization. The main thing I noticed about CNA that I didn't like was, receiving text messages is slow, it takes a long time to get a text from the person. The only other ROM to be slow with receiving SMS was MIUI jellybean.

Full screen with gestures

Hi guys!
I have a question. And i'm sure someone can tell me if it's possible or available.
I know we can get mods to have a fullscreen possibility. But is it possible to hide/show the softbuttons by using gestures? For example: swipe up to show. Swipe down to hide?
Hope someone can give me an answer.
Thanks!
Greets from holland.

I think the cm team is working on a similar function, long press power and select full screen to show/hide soft buttons and notification bar.
Swype'ed on my CM10 Galaxy Nexus
It would actually be awesome to swype in to show the soft buttons and swype out to hide them
Yeah thats what i thought too! If i had the knowledge to build it. I did!
