Hi,
Sorry if this was already posted but I couldn't find anything similar.
When I'm listening to music on my GN, using latest PowerAmp and I change the volume (up or down) there's a pause in music and then it comes back (louder or quieter).
The pause is very annoying.
I'm on AOKP M5 now with Franco Kernel, but I had this issue eversince I remember.
Any help appreciated.

Have you tried changing volume through the stock Google Music app?
It does work fine with stock Google Music.
It works fine with PowerAMP while screen is on. It goes into mute mode only when screen is off.
Very annoying

I'm running Toro build 26, 4.0.3 with Franco's kernel 18.6.
For the last several days at least, I've noticed when I go to listen to music the volume is completely subpar. I tried using the setting in Franco's app to boost the volume, but it does nothing. What's weird, though, is if I get a text message while music is playing, it immediately becomes roughly 200% louder. This continues until I pause the song. I've started sending myself text messages when it does this to fix my volume. Is there an easier way, or is this a known bug in something,?
Also, if it's relevant, I'm using Handcent's sms app and PowerAmp.
Thanks!
Same issue. I'm using google music though.

Try setting the Max volume setting at 13... Magic Or install Milestone 1 and set it to 10. (Serious guys... It's all in Franciscofranco's kernel thread. Had the same problem and Francisco advised me those. Worked perfectly for me.
Thanks! I had been thinking it might have been PowerAmp. I'll try that out and post back if it works.
Edit 3/8/12
It did work, thanks! I think the nightly builds of Franco's fix that issue anyway, but it did work before I tried them. Much appreciated!
Just tried on AOKP and it's so great! I realise volume was loud which I really welcome. However audio would have this fuzzy static at intervals on both speaker and earphones. I know it's just build 1 but anyone know how to fix this or has this problem?
EDIT: Music is fine but streaming audio from youtube gives me this problem :/

The issue I am seeing is when music is being played on the phone and a call comes in, afterwards the music turns back on but only at half the volume. All volume indicators are at max and system sounds come through at that level. If I close the music player and re-launch the volume returns to what the phone is set at.
To put a bit of history into this issue, I had actually installed the vicious (I think) JB image on my phone back a while before it was officially released by verizon. With that release, I saw the exact same issue. I tend to listen to recorded music a lot during the day, so with this little glitch I took the phone back to ICS.
But now with the official release on the verizon network the exact same problem is happening. Mostly I have music recorded from DAR.fm and play it through that app. I do have some music in google music but can't quite remember how the details of it resuming after a call went.
So, while I'm querying the app dev guys for the various music programs I wanted to see if anybody else has seen this type of issue.
Thanks
I'm running CM10 and I notice the same issue but for notification sounds. When the sound alerts, it dims the music volume. Once the notification is done sounding, the music volume does not return to normal.

Glad I'm not the only one seeing this.
I know issues brought up here have been noticed by the folks working on the official releases, but is there any system in place to report specific issues like this to either google dev or samsung?
There's an option in Settings > Sound I believe that sets the volume to half, it's called "Safe Headset Volume" try disabling that and see if it fixes your issue.
where exactly is this setting? I didn't see anything about headset volume anywhere in the sound settings panel.

Sorry about that, I just know that, that was an exact feature on CM10. I don't know why it would be happening on stock unless this is a built in option to Android that is unconfigurable on stock.
Since I tried running a JB build before, and saw this exact same issue a few months before JB was even pushed out by VZ, I'm wondering if this is a bug pretty deep in JB regardless of the build. Never had the issue with ICS.
Which volume are you talking about? Speaker, headphones, or Bluetooth? I use BT audio for music in my car, and I have no problems after calls or after notification sounds (volume dims, then rises again). However I *do* have a problem where GPS is too quiet, even when music is loud.
This is music played by the Pandora app BTW.
I notice this issue when I am listening to audio through the phone speaker. Not the greatest but it's ok. I have had the phone hooked up to external speakers and it has done the same thing. I check the volume levels in settings and everything is full. Don't have any devices for playing BT audio so I can't try that one. The notification sounds and other system sounds do seem to be at the proper levels, just not the previous playing music.
I am assuming this is a bug relating to the volume transition post-call, but I'm no developer so I'm just identifying the obvious points.
The app I am using is the DAR.fm app for recorded radio shows.
I play music off my phone in the car. After I answer a call, the music resumes at a much lower volume, despite the fact that I haven't touched the volume on the phone or car. I have to press volume up 3 times and it doesn't go gradually up, but instantly from the low volume to the high it was at. Is there a setting to get the music volume to maintain? Using poweramp. Thanks
Anyone have a similar issue? I remember having it on the GNex as well but fixed it somehow. Cannot remember how, though. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
I continue to experience this same problem on stock 4.1.2 ROM. I suspect it is a bug in the ROM. I don't know how to duplicate the problem because I have gotten calls and the volume was correctly restored. I've also tried making calls and the volume was correctly restored.
check all your sound setting and make sure that the volume is up on the system part of the sound menu...i had the same problem ...that seemed to fix it for me...

I have a US Cellular G3 and I play a lot of music. The most annoying problem I've come across is that when I hit the skip button, it just raises the volume, as if I had just hit the volume up button. And the skip back button lowers the volume. I've been using Rocket Player but I noticed this morning that it does is to the stock music app too. I've looked all over online and I haven't seen this problem pop up anywhere, so has anyone come across this problem and is there a fix for it?
Thank you kindly!
Edit: I forgot to mention that it only happens in the lock screen controls, or on bluetooth. In app works fine.
