I already have a custom rom but my friend doesnt want to mess with warranty..
I am aware of widgets and clocks that can do it, but I am talking about the statusbar ie up the top ..

Search battery percent in Play..you will find many to choose from...but the % wd be displayed only on left of statusbar..it will not replace the stock battery.....

[Request] Accurate battery percentage for sense?

Has anyone been able to get a working battery percentage mod for the sense roms floating around?
It's not a mod, but I love this app. It gives percentage with a customizable icon, with lots of mods (see the post), and also gives last unplugged info, among other things.

It does not replace stock icon, but adds one more on Status bar.

[Q] Adding battery percent in Status Bar's batt icon on HTC Magic 2.2.1 Vodafone OTA

Hello everybody,
I've been trying to figure out the way to display battery percent in Status Bar's battery icon for weeks, but I can't find the way to it.
I have been using Cyanogenmod ROM on my HTC Magic 32B device until a couple of months, and it was great to see the battery percent on the Status Bar's battery.
Now I'm using the 2.2.1 Vodafone's OTA and I'd like it to show the battery percent as well as Cyanogenmod does.
I don't know exactly what files I have to change nor where are they placed (maybe some XML's in Settins.apk and some others in framework-res.apk, maybe other files...).
Does anybody know exactly how can I do it?
Thank you very much.

[Q] Battery Icon Color

For some reason the battery icon in the status bar of the S3 is always green, even when the charge is low.
Is there a way to make it then yellow when below, say, 30% or something like on other phones?
I am aware that there are third party apps that can display battery icons in the status bar, but I don't want another useless icon there taking up space.
But I wouldn't mind an app that could somehow overlay the stock battery icon... though I am not rooted, and will not be rooting until my warranty is over.
It does that automatically. Mine does at least and im stock no root.

IIRC, the battery indicator does this on stock. I could be wrong though as its been some time since I was using stock ROM, maybe someone else can verify.

{REQUEST} Battery Percentage mod for Stock Rom

Is there a battery percentage mod for the stock ROM on the Verizon One? I found one on the standard one forum but it wouldn't work, I had no status bar at all. I know you can turn on a percentage readout next to the battery in the power menu, but it makes my icons on the status bar almost reach the far side of the phone at times

Try xposed framework. Not sure if it will work with stock rooted. If not, you may want to try Santod040's deodexed stock ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2485319
Thanks man, will check that out

Xposed framework works on stock rooted. Sense 5 toolbox has a lot of nice tweaks percentage battery mod included.
HTC One s-off
+1 for Sense 5 Toolbox, while I've noticed a few things don't seem to work, the status bar mods do and that makes it worth it.
Isn't there already a battery % display in stock? Or are you looking to change the color and icon?
