[Q] ATT Users: Can you receive MMS messages from T-Mobile users? - HTC One X

For ATT Users, can you receive MMS messages from T-Mobile users? I can receive MMS messages from other ATT and Verizon users but not T-Mobile. I've edited several MMS apn settings and can't get one to receive T-Mobile MMS messages.

Yes. I'm on the data for non-Smartphones plan and the phone picked the APN up from my SIM without me having to do anything. My APN's are posted in the the general section thread discussing AT&T APNs.

I've tried those settings you had in the thread with ATT's apn but failed to receive a picture from a Tmobile friend. The notification bar would display an icon in the notification center letting me know that I've received a mms but when in the messenging app, it'll be blank.

If you can get MMS from everybody except one carrier, you should call ATT and have technical support look at it. They can log into a special intercarrier MMS tool to make sure that the message is being received properly.
One thing I noticed is that the max message size that the messages app on my phone shows is 300kb. The max size on ATT's network is 600kb. In the tool, they can see how big the message is; ask them if it's over 300kk and that may be the culprit.

[Q] Sending MMS Under Froyo FRX06, Tmobile

I know there's a ton of messages on MMS, but I've tried searching and have been unable to find a fix for this. I've got an unlocked TP2 from AT&T running on Tmobile, booting Froyo off of my SDcard. I've got an old Suncom sim card with a grandfathered in 2g data plan, it's not the fastest but it's free and unlimited. I've gotten data & mms to work with this sim in winmo, iphones, and every other phone I've tried, but this is my first experience with android and its giving me a lot of problem.
My APN Settings:
Name: Suncom Net
APN: mobileinternet
MCC: 310
MNC: 490 (suncom's old mnc)
APN Type: default,supl
the rest blank
Name: Suncom WAP
same as above but APN Type is blank
(got mms receiving & data working with this in there so I've left it)
Name: Suncom MMS
APN: wap.voicestream.com
Proxy: 216.155.165.50
Port: 8080
Server: wap.voicestream.com
MMSC: 216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
MMS proxy: 216.155.165.50
MMS port: 8080
MCC: 390
MNC: 490
APN type: mms
I've got data working. I can receive mms perfectly, as long as wifi is disabled. But I cannot get it to work to send an mms. Took me forever to get the receiving mms working and that just turned out to be the naming of the APNs (which I thought was weird) but I feel like I'm missing something else small to get this working.
Any help would be appreciated.
EDIT: Forgot to mention I'm not getting an error message, it just hangs. Wifi is disabled. And the edge icon comes up and sends and receives data for a short period of time before it seems like it gives up.
If you are connected to T-mobile's network you should try t-mobile's network settings....
These settings work for me with xdandroid on t-mobile....
APN epc.tmobile.com

port: 8080

MMS Port: 8080
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
APN type: default,supl,mms
Looks like your setting are almost the same except for the MMSC.
IIRC, I couldn't send MMS until setting my MMSC to the address I posted.
Nope not the solution for me. If I use epc.tmobile.com as my apn I don't think I'm getting any connection out, probably due to my older sim I'm thinking, just from watching the upload/download icon, very little activity. Don't even get a notification for a failed download of mms picture with it.
Trying that MMSC with wap.voicestream.com as my apn I'm at least getting a connection out, a lot of upload/download activity, and getting a download failed notification trying to download an mms.
The only thing I think I haven't tried is changing the mms user agent, but I'm receiving pictures at 128kb, much bigger than what I would think an unrecognized user agent would receive. But so far most of the mms setup for android has been different than what I've seen before so maybe it'll work.
Also a newer Tmobile sim might fix it too, but I've had it working in other phones. It works flawlessly in windows mobile on the same phone. Again I'm thinking it's a combination of the sim card either the mms user agent of android or some other identification tmobile is getting from my phone showing up as android.
I think that with highlands new RIL, MMS works, you just have to enter the right APN settings.

GSM MMS worked in the original RIL too, I didn't change any of that. The only thing new regarding MMS in my RIL is for CDMA phones.

Cannot send/ receive pictures in SMS on One X (S720E) on at&t post-paid

I have an factory unlocked/ OEM One X and use it on at&t network in NYC. No data. I have a plan with voice + unlimited text messaging.
My problem: I cannot receive picture people send me via text and I cannot send any either.
My APN settings are untouched and were set/ detected by the phone from the SIM.
Here they are. Help me please if you have any idea on how to solve this.

Here is the solution that worked for me. Hope this helps someone.
Attaching a picture to a SMS makes it a MMS and the transmission channel on the network is then different.
I also had a data block on my account on the at&t's end. That's what prevented any type of data to flow to/ from my phone.
Removing it allowed MMS to work even though I still data turned off on my phone in the settings.
I'm on a post paid plan but still use the Cingular APN. Here's my settings. The phone picked them up directly from the SIM and I didn't have to tweak anything. If you get funky results using the same settings it's probably due to the prepaid accounts being routed through seperate billing and administrative systems.
Thanks for posting. Same settings as mine.

Straight Talk APN Settings Help - Can't Receive MMS

Hey guys, been trying to solve this problem for over a week now.
I just got Straight Talk, with an ATT Sim Card.
I am using these APN settings from the ST website, which work fine for data and being able send MMS.
But I cannot receive MMS messages.
APN Settings
FIELD SETTINGS
NAME STRAIGHT_TALK
APN tfdata
MMSC http://mms-tf.net
MMS PROXY mms3.tracfone.com
MMS PORT 80
MMS_APN tfdata
From reading over 30 threads on various websites, I have found some people doing variations of this with the following differences:
APN: tfdata
MMSC: http://mms-tf.net
MMS proxy: mms3.tracfone.com
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
APN type: default,supl,mms
and this:
APN: tfdata
Proxy: proxy.mvno.tracfone.com
MMSC: http://mms-tf.net
MMS proxy: mms3.tracfone.com
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
APN type: default,supl,mms
Unfortunately none of these are able to let me receive mms messages.
I can get data and send mms messages on all of these however.
Thanks for the help.

Should work. Let me know (i dealt with the same issue in the past it actually ended up being on straight talk's end but the settings are the correct ones)
I still can't receive mms. Tried about every APN setting.

What do you mean it was on Straight Talk's end? I kept saying that to them but they kept saying no. They also say there are no higher up management who they can transfer me to.
so stil....
Can't get my phone to receive MMS.
Every MMS message shows up as 32kb and it attempts to download, then just stops. It's impossible each mms message I receive is 32kb.
Straight talk just tells me its on my end and my phone isn't compatible.
Really annoying but I guess its just time to give up

I say "on their end" because after dealing with it for a month (calling Straight Talk and spending hours with different Reps, pouring over internet forums) I renewed my service for another 30 days and the issue was resolved...magically.
In regards to APN settings are you making sure to delete all existing APNs before starting a completely new one?

Yea I have done that many times. Also tried 5 different roms, the same result however.
You renewed using the same sim card or got a new one? maybe its the actual sim card number that is bugged on their end and I need to get a new one and a new number?
This is my first 30 days.
So I guess I'll renew once and hope for the best, who knows.

Believe me bro, I'm Soooo happy for you!!
I remember going through it and it was a Royal pain in the ass.
The reality is, when Straight Talk works property, it's the best out there (in my opinion anyway).
Peace
I cant get MMS. I had a month in reserve. After it was applied I still cannot get MMS. It was working on my full size sim card. I wish I had just cut it down to fit into my new phone instead of porting my number to a new small sim. They just say to me they cannot guarantee MMS. I told them i can Guarantee I will leave them if they don't fix it.
My mms is finally fixed. I can now receive MMS. I called them repeatedly for a month. Finally one guy finally offered to repush through the updates that they do when you change SIM cards. And that is what fixed it on my net 10 line.
On my other phone which was not able to send MMS on straight talk they offered me no such thing even after I asked for it. Of course they had me double check the APN settings. And lo and behold I had the setting inputted incorrectly. It was hard to catch this mistake because I had HTTPS instead of just HTTP I removed the s and now it is working fine.

I have a moto g with a Straight Talk at&t sim, and I had tried everything to get mms incoming working.
Finally I had them send me another sim card for a different problem.
The Original Sim card had a part number of TF64PSIMC4MB and was a micro sim.
The replacement was a TF64PSIMC4BMB and was a sim or microsim.
I switched over to the new sim, powered off the phone, and installed, and then started getting mms without changing any settings.
I'm using the tfdata settings from the straightalk site.
So it's a problem on their end, not on the phone most of the time.
I recommend asking for a replacement sim card if you can't get mms incoming working.
So, I found that if you remove port 80 from the APN...
Name: straight talk
APN: tfdata
Proxy: not set
Port: 80 <-- delete this
MMSC: http://mms-tf.net
MMS proxy: mms3.tracfone.com
MMS port: not set
MCC: 310

APN type: not set
... you get a better download speed. I was limited to less than 5Mbps on LTE with the port set to 80. I deleted that, and get a consistent speed of around 20-25Mbps. (Note: This applies to a SIM unlocked ATT hTC One X+, no idea if this works for a Galaxy Nexus)
Try adjusting your APN settings, first before this.
I had problems with my Nexus 5 not sending MMS messages and it turned out the pictures were just to big. I downloaded an app called Go SMS Pro (it's free) and it automatically re-sizes it, and it fixed the issue.

[Q] PLZ help tmobile s3 on straightalk (t-mobile sim)

Good day!!! well this problem has been driving me crazy for the past 6-7 hours. i bought an unlocked tmobile s3 and i'm trying to get data(4g) on this phone with straight talk. calling and texting work fine but data is a no go.
I have litterally tried over 10 diferent apn combinations found online, provided by stratight talk rep and this website and none have worked. with most of them i get the small 4g label to light up next to my signal strenghth implying that my phone is connected to data, but when ever i try looking for somenthing with the browser or the playstore it says i have no internet connection or it redirects me to a website
here are some of the apn combinations i've tried:
NAME:STRAIGHT_TALK
APN:wap.tracfone
PORT:8080
MMS_APN:wap.tracfone
MMSC: ttp://mms.tracfone.com (H at the beggining)

APN:wap.tracfone
Proxy: 216.155.165.40
PORT:8080
MMS Proxy: 216.155.165.40
MMSC: blank
I'm starting to think that the permanent APN settings for tmobile, which i can't remove, are maybe causing conflict with straightalk's apn settings despite the fact my phone stays on straightalk apn settings.
please someone help me, i'm about to smash the phone and move on.

you do this by making sure the green dot, the straightalk apn is selected correct? if so it is and still not working.
I assume you are able to make and receive calls just fine. Silly question but I assume, your Straight Talk account is all set for data and what not ?
EDIT - What baseband do you have right now ?

yep i'm able to receive and make calls just fine and data is also configured. my baseband is 800/1900 i believe...
Baseband is not the operating frequency. Its the text you see when you go to Settings > About>Baseband. Please provide that value
Have you confirmed with Straight talk that your account is configured correctly for data and the sim is a newer sim ? Also try the sim in some other phone to see if you get data there.

Getting quite annoyed at this issue [sending and recieving pictures in texts]

OK, background, I am on a family plan, some time ago we all switched over to AT&T. I had a Galaxy S2 at the time (yes, old I know), got a TMobile S4 as AT&T tends to lock their bootloaders.
I can't figure out what is going on. Regular texts are fine, but pictures with text messages? Always fail.
Edited the SMSC setting last night was able to send a text message with a photo. Today get text with picture from a friend, get the 'download' prompt, press download, gives me 403 error.
What gives? It's like I fix one thing and something else has to break. I just want it to work damn it.
Have you checked whether your APN settings match AT&T?
Do you leave data enabled at all times?
Sorry for the late reply guys.
