Hello guys,
A friend has just got herself a lovely OneX, and tonight she showed me that Ebay was installed, we could run it from Google Play, but it is not visible anywhere in the app drawer, not ALL and not Downloaded...
I went to app settings, cleared cache, settings, uninstalled, reinstalled, and it is still invisible!
Any ideas?
She is on O2 UK.
Thanks,
Mark.

Did you try going to settings, apps, find the app and click on it and make sure it isn't disabled.

Hi westwood, she has gone home now, but i did go to settings apps and reset everything before uninstalling and reinstalling... so i would assume it was not disabled, she has never been to the app settings, so she wouldnt have disabled it and im sure it would not be disabled by default.
any other ideas?

are you rooted? stock rom?
She has stock rom, not rooted... straight from the shop...

when you open the app right after downloading from the play store, do you select for the uk?
i'm on stock in the us on an international one x and just downloaded without difficulty, but when i first opened the app, it did ask for the usual end user agreement and pointed to making a choice of location. very odd if it works on some units and not on others.
hi, yes we did use UK, and she managed to log in using the Open button in Play Store... but she doesnt want to have to go to play store every time to run the app!
Very odd.
She may take the phone back to the o2 shop and ask them whats going on. (the advantage of NOT rooting

I doubt they will have more of a clue at the store than people here on XDA :/

Hi, I had some update on the apps i got from the app market, so i just chose `Update All` and they all updfated and installed ok, Exept 1 app ( Pacman game ).
It just sits saying `installing`.... and never gets any further, I`ve tried uninstaliling the app from the phone and re-downloading it in full fresh.
But it still shows in my `Downloads list` despite me uninstalling it, + I tried doing a Battery pull to see if that clears it, but its still says `installing`..., despite it not even on there ATM.
Is there any way of resetting the market history or something, thanks
Go to settings, click applications, then click manage applications. Wait for it to load the apps, click on the all tab, scroll down to market and click it, then just click the box that says clear data. Reboot and try the market

I'm experiencing a very annoying what seems common problem.
Where HTC locations loads itself automatically at random intervals.
I have looked all over the site for a fix but unable to find it.
Tried deleting the navigation folder from .data. cleaning usb socket. Resetting phone. Clearing all caches etc
I have also installed an app called "skip HTC locations" but hasn't and isn't doing a thing. Also notice its happening more and more when pluggging in my charger
But its still happening. And assistance is greatly appreciated

Its not a rooted phone so unable to uninstall i think ?
in applications i have both "locations" and "locations launcher"
only thing i can do is clear cache which i have done and on "locations" i can "uninstall updates" which i have also tried and problem is still there,
Just that when i have removed the updates, it still automatically starts up "htc locations" randomly and then asks me to download files.
Hmm yea It's not much to do when you are not rooted I think. =\

The locations app has now stopped launching. But when I make a call loudspeaker is automatically activated at the start of the call so seems like usb socket is shorting somewhere thinking its in dock mode still?
Yes that could be the problem =\

Same problem here, did you manage to fix it?
I had the same problem yesterday. I really went mad! It started locations like 5-6 times and wanted to download some update and maps, I just couldn't get rid of it! Then I downloaded something and it prompted me to download (actualy purchase) individual maps and I rejected and then all of a sudden it stopped. The phone was NOT in the charger. No new popups since.

Still doing it to me, whether in charger or out. Posted a thread about it which is down the page but no replies!!!
I have found a "fix" for the issue.
I could not root my phone for some reason, so normal uninstall of locations wasn't an option for me.
I cannot exactly tell the steps I have done, cause I tried several things at a time and I don't know which one worked, but the main thing was:
- I made a factory reset, which did not change much appart from that I could plug in the phone to PC and see it as a drive.
- I removed some files related to locations from SD card
- In one of the menus related to application managment I had an option to reinstall locations
- I clicked on it
- AND I removed the battery in the middle of installation
- After turning on "Locations" were asking about making an install once again, but I chose an option "go to hell" and voila, no more hate against your own phone.
FIX by destruction
Hello there , I bought a HTC one V a month ago ,(new to android OS) & been loving it since then. It never gave me any issue till last week. I am having a issue with Google play store while using the internet pass through option. when ever i try to download apps from play store with Internet pass through it starts displaying "waiting for network", and goes nowhere from there.
anybody else facing this situation or is it just me ? any solutions ?
Thank you .
Does it work in your browser?
You only have problem with Play Store or even with the browser? Can you browse internet in the phone browser using internet pass-through?
Yeah I can browse and download everything else with internet pass through. Problem is with goggle play store only with downloading apps.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28484189
check this post , this user too is having the same problem. Tried everything that they said in that thread, didn't worked though.
Can tou download apps without using internet pass through?
By the way... why don't you download apps using your PC? Download apps from play.google.com or from anywhere!! There are so many sites giving out android apps!
yes on carrier data gprs or 3G I can , but not on pass through. I can't update my installed apps by pc , I need an internet connection on mobile for that , internet pass through does all for me, that's why.
You can download the updated app by
play.google.com ! I haven't tried, but friend has.
ok thanks will try to , but then why people are having trouble downloading apps on play store with internet pass through ?
Try this

First of all uninstall the updates for the google play. You can clear the delvik cache by going in to the recovery. Then click on fix permissions and reboot.

I uninstalled the updates of play store from the app manager and cleared the cache of play store app from it. My problem was solved then. But all this was a one hit wonder. Once I closed the play store and started it again the problem resurfaced. So i need to go to recovery, but when I press Power + Volume down button nothing happens !!! Hold it for some time duration and screenshot gets activated. Can you please help me with it ?
Did you hold the power button until the three soft buttons started flashing until the phone shuts down?

Yes now it works. Thanks
Since upgrading to JB 4.2 the Amazon app store keeps having me authenticate periodically. I assume that this is related to the JB update, but I haven't seen anyone else mention this issue. Particularly when accessing Tweetcaster Pro is when I see the issue start, but then no other app works correctly.
Just for some background, I wiped my phone yesterday with 4.1 and then installed 4.2. I have the latest version of the app store and have tried clearing cache/data, uninstalling, reinstalling. No help.
So I'd like to know if anyone else is seeing this or if it is just me.
Thanks
Probably just needs a compatibility update, same as every other app that isn't working on 4.2 right now.

Thanks. I figured that was the case. I would just be more at ease knowing I wasn't alone.
Same behaviour here after updating to 4.2. Hope Amazon is fast with a fix...
Same here - driving me freaking crazy
You may have to redownload the Appstore apk, there seems to be one with a new layout now.

It kept asking me to sign in and when I did it was saying wrong password even though I knew it was right. I only had about 3 paid apps for free that I still used so I just uninstalled them and purchased from the play store and uninstalled the amazon app store.....haven't "bought" a free app in like 3 months...the selection is getting to be crap

Sorry for you, but glad to hear it. I ended up calling them today and they hadn't heard of any issues. I suspect they know now.
I'm getting the same thing too although my login credentials actually work. The one thing I haven't checked is whether or not these logins are creating a new device authorization every time.
I completely wiped my phone before upgrading to 4.2 and Amazon App store and Verizon FiOS Mobile Remote are the only two apps with issues.
I have the same issue with Forum Runner. Every time I close the app I get signed out and need to re-login every time I open it back up. So annoying but I'm guessing its a 4.2 update thing. I've deleted it and re-downloaded it and it made no difference.

They explained to me that everytime you login, it creates a new device instance. They limit it at 25. I hit that mark yesterday.

I've read that in the past, but it's never been true for me. I use TubeMate from Amazon and dont need the Amazon Market installed to do so.
Having the same issue with the app store. Just got off the phone with amazon and they are aware of the problem and are working on a fix now

Ouch! I just logged in to my Amazon account and saw all the "Nexus 7 xx" devices that were registered.
Thanks for the heads up. I deregistered all the new devices.
This worked for me
From another forum I found this solution to work:
1) Delete Google Account
2) Reboot Device
3) Reactivate Google Account
4) Log on with Amazon Appstore App
All apps load and run without need to log on each time now.
I also deleted excess Amazon devices as noted above.

Yeah it does add a new device each time... I have 7! Deleted 6 of them... still same problem.
Edit: Problem solved itself over time.
Hello everyone.
Like mentioned in the title the tablet only shows apps under my Apps in the Play Store, I downloaded or updated manually in the Play Store. It also doesn't show preinstalled Apps like Chrome,Gmaps or YouTube in the Application manager, unless I looked them up and manually update them in the Play Store. I had exactly the same problem yesterday with an Samsung Galaxy Trend (GT-S7560), but after some messing around and several restarts the apps suddenly showed up and everything worked fine then. Sadly I don't know what fixed it on the phone. Does anybody have an idea how to fix this problem? It isn't a huge problem, but with all the Android devices I set up, I never encountered this except with these two Samsung devices.
Many Thanks in advance!

Sorry forgot to mention that I already tried it, sadly, without success. It was one of the last things I did before it worked on the phone, didn't worked on the tablet yet.
What play store version do you have?
Sent from my GT-P6210 using Tapatalk
The problem solved itself again! Just as I went to look up the Play Store version (4.5.10 btw.), the apps appeared under the "All" category and in the Application manager, could update them and everything works fine now. Really strange that this occurred with two Samsung devices on two following days. Thanks anyway for your help!
