So I was just at the sprint store for something, and I asked one of the emloyees there if I can put a 1800 mah battery in the Samsung Epic 4g( because I have read on XDA that you can), and he said you can but it might do bad things to your phone....... So does anyone know FOR SURE that if you put a oem 1800 mah battery in this phone, that it won't mess it up in anyway?
That rep is stupid... no it won't... if it did 3500 mah would explode your phone... it doesn't does it? Its just a bigger battery. I would go back and laugh at him if he said that to me.

Exactly. It has more capacity, not voltage. Go in and tell that rep he is an idiot and should read a book once in awhile.
Sent from my PantechP4100 using xda premium
Agreed that the Rep is an idiot. In fact I'm sure that most reps at any stores know very little about the product that they peddle. But it's not totally their fault. They are taught to be idiots, and to give standard responces to any question. I'd never think of going to a sprint Rep for a real answer about anything that didn't involve a sprint service plan and a stock phone right out of the box.

same here, and i'm sure tons of other Epic users are.. it's a good deal for extra battery life without the added hump on the back..
Using it right now. On average about 3 hours screen on time with moderate to heavy usage. No issues whatsoever. 5 - 6 hours using a Hyperion 3500.

As far as charging, I can't be positive, but it does show 100% on the battery app I downloaded. As far as better life, heck yeah!!! I tried my hardest to kill it today.what would have killed my stock battery, this one went 6 hours longer.

I dont use a case for mine. I have a body glove flip leather case for it with invisishield. Could you post some pics of the battery. Wondering if that sprint store is selling chinese batteries or if this one is oem or name branded. Thanks
You can buy a 2700 directly from Sprint now? Do you have a pic of it ?

I can get a pic tomorrow. I'm unsure why my Sprint store sells them, because I called 3 others near me, and my store is the only one that has them.

Did sprint give you instructions on how to charge it being that the phone can't properly charge it on its own? I find it interesting that sprint is selling extended batteries now because if they/HTC don't come up with a fix for the charging problem they are going to be getting a lot of calls!
Unfortunately, no. I'm probably gonna take it back tomorrow. I can't find a case??

I don't know. I could check it but
I don't think NFC works on my ROM
And if it dident I personally would not care because I never used NFC . NFC or 2x battery.... Id choose 2x
Quick note the battery is quite big and it comes with ( I think) a nice phone back case. Its VERY secure and it protects the camera lens (kinda)

I don't think so. I remember looking at the international version and the battery size was different. As well as the probability of having different voltage output. Strongly font recommend it unless you are willing to risk damaging your phone.
