Hi,
After upgrading to a new custom ROM, i did a factory reset on my phone to have a clean upgrade.
However, after doing so, I realized that I am now unable to access my mnt/sdcard folder. When I connect my phone to the computer, it shows the htc storage drive, but there isn't any mnt/folder inside of it.
Help is greatly appreciated! =)
Im still not able to find a fix. Any help is appreciated

Hey all! I've been having some really weird symptoms with my GNex today and I'm about to flash a new ROM because of it, but before I do I figured I would ask all you nice people! So here's what happened-- all today btw.
-I was messing around with some .nomedia files because I discovered the Ultimate Custom Clock Widget yesterday and didn't want some of the widget images in my gallery. So I was messing with the /sdcard0/UltimateCustomClockWidget/ directory and forcing media scans here and there. The .nomedia trick worked.
-Opened up PlayerPro to listen to some tunes but nothing was in the library except for my videos from the camera. Tried forcing a media scan... nothing.
-checked out the Music folder restriction option in the menus. Usually, you can navigate through the storage to choose the folder you want. This time, there were no folders to navigate.
-Removed battery, wiped cache, fixed permissions, wiped dalvik, rebooted, cleared app data for PlayerPro... nothing.
-Opened up Play Music to see if it would detect anything... it didn't.
-Checked out the /sdcard0/syncr/ directory (where my music is stored) to triple check that there was no .nomedia file inside there. Even did a file search with root explorer for it... nothing.
-Decided to browse via USB on my Windows 7 PC in case the file browser was bugged. I navigate to /sdcard0/syncr/ and my PC says it's totally empty. I go back to the file browser on the GNex and furiously refresh but the files are still there. So I delete it all from the GNex's file browser.
-Tried re-syncing the music back onto the device, but iSyncr throws me "Device excepted" errors for every file. A google search on the problem brings up nothing.
-Successfully copied a random pick to the phone via usb just to be sure the storage wasn't physically damaged.
Anyone had any experiences that were even remotely similar? I consider myself an experienced PC and Android user but I've never had a problem like this-- one that I couldn't solve. Any tips, suggestions, etc are appreciated! And sorry for the long write-up! xP

I also had a device exception error, and that worked, thanks!
Like the title, I'm asking if there is a way to use MTP in CM9 for our device, like this.
Arco says that the MTP is a problem in every Samsung device with a CM9 but for GS2 for example is fixed.
No one knows how to make it working?
Thanks in advantage, and i'm sorry if I'm in wrong section or if isn't a considerable problem
i got a bug on that.. i think it is also affected by USB tethering..
My question is: Do you really *need* MTP?
If what you're after is a simple way to transfer files from/to the SDcard, I recommend using AirDroid instead.

take a look at 'Multi mount sd' or 'dual mount sd' at store, they solve the problem alternatively to native android connection, both cards are visible either on phone or on pc

Hi people, this is my first post here!
First, if I commit a mistake writing this, is because mi english is not very good XD
I have the ace 2 for about two weeks with hafidzduddin HD kernel on it :B
Ok, the problem is the bloody mtp, I want the classic android usb storage app, but I only find solutions for specific phones, like the SGSII or galaxy note, and, if I have a option on my phone I can't see it :silly:
if helps I have the last stock ROM from Samsung (XXLI2) and obviously rooted e.e
I want the classic usb storage because I cant move files through directories, and a lot of directories appear to be empty when I see my phone storage on my computer, for only one file, adb is good, but when i have a lot of files...
Thanks!
No way? any idea? :crying:
Hello,
If you look under wireless and network settings, and choose the usb utilities option, you should see the option for 'classic' mass storage there.

Yes, I do not work as well.
I just tried as well, it seems to be doing the job but the apps are all trying to redownload the data from the web. I believe I am running the latest Directory Bind version but if it doesn't work, it is definitely a deal breaker for me. I will have to revert back to build 253. I was willing to live with the lag of the the new build until Sony updates it and fixes the bugs because lets face it, it isn't perfect. The battery is still also a problem for me, doesn't seem stable...
If anyone knows how to fix the Directory Bind app on 4.2.2 ... please feel free to share the notion.
16 gig is far from being enough storage space with apps such as Batman that require space of 1.81 gig alone on the phone and I'm an app freak!!
Yup, what i did was to install .253 and everything if fine. I have 28gb of game data plus 5gb of music and 4gb of videos but. The game data was a bug issue for me too bad. So just have to wait if its get solved later on and yeah me too i have the lates directory bind

C'mon guys, no answer for how to use a Link on 4.2.2. I've just tried directory bind and folder mount but still no luck!
Enviado desde mi C6506 usando Tapatalk 2
im pretty sure that with the 4.2 update their is an emulated directory so as to protect vital system stuff and backups.
play around with a file explorer you may find the answer
I dont.know alot of systems but i have tried already some moving but still no luck right now im.stock. 253 and using folder mount (and startimg.to love it). Thanks but if you something i can do i'll try

I use a few things in .423. Foldermount works but I had to run the windows download
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317432
I also use Root Browser to "create shortcuts" which links directories. I primarily use this for Google music's /data/data music storage (why there's no option for external sd saves baffles me)

oohhhh....you can create shortcuts to link directories using Root Browser?? Like...folders outside and beyond /Android/data, /Android/obb, or anything outside of /sdcard0 ??
Please, do elaborate! Tell me more. What's your procedure, if I may kindly ask?
I used to use Directory Bind and now I'm on FolderMount. But this other thing you speak of would be very useful. Do you create a shortcut from /data/data and place that shortcut into /sdcard0 and from there symlink that folder in /sdcard0 into your external sd card? Or do you link from /data/data straight into your external? Or does it work differently? Just taking a shot in the dark here. lol

i've tried that tools but dont work for me, my foldermount doesnt work and battery issue make me revert to 434 :silly:
For music (but should be transferrable knowledge).:
Force close music app
I go to data/data/com.google.music (or whatever the exact name). Move the subfolder "files" to a place on your external SD. Find that folder and choose "create shortcut". Put the shortcut in /data/data/com.google.music/
And it just works. Problems of course happen when you flash a new rom as they break the link
I'm sure a good dev could make a cwm flashable script to move and link certain folders

Before applying the ToolKit remount/reboot fix, were you experiencing reboots on 4.2.2 when trying to use FolderMount?
When I was with 4.1.2 .434, I could use FolderMount to move game data to external sdcard but after I updated to 4.2.2 .423, everytime I pin to mount, my ZL reboots. Had to uninstall it!
Thanks.

Does this method work on any type of folder or just music. I tried with root browser and root explorer. Once I move my game data (Asphalt 7, 1.5gb) to xyz folder on my SdCard and try to create a shortcut in the original /android/obb I get the same error message from both apps saying "operation failed, most SdCards do not permit this".
I was hoping that this method was going to be a replacement for directory bind on 4.2.2.
Now I'm sad again....A lot of game data is just too damn big. A 16gb phone has about 11gb left of storage after Android is installed. 11gb nowadays is a joke. I hate apple products but at least you have the option of buying an iPhone with 16, 32 or 64 gb of storage. I wouldnt need an SdCard if I had a 64gb of storage on my phone. Thats the only thing I hate about Android phones.
Just my 2 cents....
Well i sold my zl and had. As4 and there fouldermount worked great on 4.2.2 but when i went through 4.3 i had problems but. I had to sell it bow im back to zl and still i cant use fouldeount it rebots my phone for as long as i have that app installed. Why only on s4's 4.2.2 works??

Hi guys,
Probably an unusual question for you. Is there a way to extract my samsung calendar from my pc by hooking it up via USB?
My problem: dropped my phone.
Pro: Phone still works, connects via USB and shows my internal AND external SD card.
Con: I need my calendar, contacts etc etc.
Running alliance rom, TWRP recovery.
I still have my Evo 3D, and it would be awesome if I could somehow use my data (calendar and such) on my Evo whilst I wait for my sgn2 to be repaired.
Thanks in advane!! :good:

Alright, so I tried a few things and found a solution.
I noticed my phone was still working, my USB debugging is turned on, so I searched on how to copy my screen to my pc and found a program called DroidAtScreen.
After you install Android SDK platform tools (adb.exe is the one you need), which I already had installed due too earlier projects. You simply install DroidAtScreen, run adb.exe and connect your device via USB. Afterwards my screen was visible, but I couldn't do anything. But when I tried with my s-pen I saw it responded. So by hovering I could see where I was.
Using the hover method and clicking with the s-pen I managed to create a titaniumbackup to my Internal SD card (External can't be used via titanium since it's hooked up via USB). And by copying the backup to my pc and restoring it on my other phone I got all my stuff back..
Only works when your screen is the ONLY broken part. As long as the s-pen functions (digitalizer) you can manage to do everything you used to do. Takes a bit of time though...
Hope this helps others in the future
No solutions? no way to extract contacts etc. from the internal or external sd card?

I also would like to know how to do this.
Thx
