Right we all know that the launcher that will be coming with this beast of a phone will be Rosie(aka HTC Sense Launcher) . For me though i like to have a variety. So putting this thread together to give you guys a variety of Launchers i found on the market. So rather than having to find them all over the place i will keep everything here in one place and will try and find as many as i can and update the thread with any further updates the developers release for the launchers.

To add Applications grid shortcut, select Add > Shortcuts > Applications grid.
Try toggle Manage wallpaper if screen scrolling isn't smooth, select Preferences > Workspace > Manage wallpaper.

This application has been designed to minimize memory usage and be fast: the more memory you have for your applications, the faster they will run. In other words Lightning Launcher has been built from the ground to preserve your phone's resources and keep it smooth.
In spite of its ridiculously small size (less than 60kb!), Lightning Launcher is packed with a fair amount of features and brings to Android a very unique concept: the home screen can be seen as a giant surface on which you are free to put icons, shortcuts or widgets exactly where YOU WANT, and not limited to a 4x4 grid. Pinch to zoom in or out the desktop, use the home key to switch between a full scale view or the normal size, or double tap on empty space as in the web browser to immediately see all your icons. Nova is good. But there are so many launchers that people do not even know about they will be gobsmacked if they knew what is out there. Once i get back my phone i will be using SSLauncher. Very unique and very different from the rest out there. and the best thing..it is very lite

Thanks man, looks nice list of launchers. I've only tried apex and nova previously. And also spb shell 3d, which is quite a good launcher also especially when in tablet mode, though a bit pricey.
But for now I'm quite fond of the rosie since it's my first HTC phone so I'd like to enjoy it for the mean time.

dude you not seen nothing yet..loads of launchers on the market that we do not know about. just look at sslauncher. different from what we know. that is just the start up list...searching for more and will update as i go along

Post 2 has been updated with a special link to an article written by an xda member called Ohamn and he gives his description in more detailed about the varied launchers out there. if apex gets the level of support behind it as the Go Launcher has then it will be better in my eyes...both are great but yeah apex for me is the one so far

what i don't understand is how an app like go launcher can remain free
where does it generate money? (no adds and all that)
And, what is better for performance?
Apex or Go?
(going to switch to a Jdroid rom soon and i want a nice, fast smooth launcher )

you can replace the icons but you need to download themes first from the market to be able to do that

Im finding a launcher like (Nova - Apex) with a dock text label..

How about Nemus launcher, I really like it.

Apex launcher cant b downloaded.it says its not compatible with ur device even on play store(market and browser).my handset is sgs 2 i9100G

No dear...i m on GB...i have reverted back yo GB coz GB is far better than ICS at the moment coz most of drivers are missing in ICS.when they,ll b available,ICS will b better

That is the reason, apex only works on ICS/AOSP, not GB.

LG Spirit H440N homescreen thread

My homescreen:
Quick toggle bar at the top is done with PowerToggles. It's the best if you're into quick toggles.
From the beginning of smartphone usage, I depended on homescreen folders for my most used apps. For that purpose, I use Folder Organizer, to which I added a custom folder icon.
Since Nova is my launcher, I decided to replace square dock icons to the round ones by downloading a Lollipop icon pack, extracting what I needed and applying it through Nova. Looks much better, IMHO.
Also, I'm in the process of playing with XWGT instead of Zooper Widget, since XWGT has a much lower memory/cpu footprint to create a widget that has a day/date with a recording function integrated into it. That way, I removed an extra widget from my homescreen and integrated it into the day/date widget.
P.S.
I would like to ask the mods not to close this thread like they closed the first one, because LG Spirit does NOT have it's own forum section, and is purely tag based. So, if mods don't like homescreen threads ending in Misc Dev sections, they should create a proper LG Spirit forum section on XDA.

My homescreen,mising cLock widget (from cm12).

Since I like not cluttering my homescreen with tons of icons and widdgets, I just don't have anything on it. And since Nova allows to rebind the soft keys to open the app drawer, I don't even need the dock. The only exceptional thing about my homescreen is the wallpaper - I'm using an LWP with a custom GLSL shader. I can drop that here if you would like the code for yourselves.

I had one that I liked better, but an update to the app caused all my shaders to dissapear, and I couldn't recreate the one I had. Also, obligatory PCMR> Console peasants

Very basic. Default launcher, default weather app, replaced google app with quick search bar (or something like that) and some contacts. Decided to use the homescreens for only widgets, every app is accessible via the app drawer. Wallpaper is from Backdrops.

When finish tweaking design on phone and when setup 4 more e-mail accounts to phone I would post latest home screen... It is a quite changed then this one (from wallpaper up to widgets which I have)

Here is my many-year-old setup, except that I only lately started having 6 dock icons, instead of 5.

Nova vs System Launcher. Which is clear winner?

I do say that the best launcher with customization is Ofcourse Nova launcher.
Nova launcher beta version is now Google companion supported. It will soon roll out for Stable Nova version.

Actually System Launcher takes more RAM than nova, both are good in their own features.

MIUI launcher also has live icons for Clock, Calendar and Weather app. Almost all the launchers have live Calendar option now but if I remember correctly, MIUI v6, v7 or maybe both also had seconds display along with hour and minute hands on the clock app icon. That looks pretty if you ask me

I've used Nova launcher before. It's nice. Lots of customization. However. I am using the default MIUI launcher now and I honestly don't miss Nova.

System Launcher

I am more stock admirer so nova hands down... I actually have only one page in nova and launching most apps with appdialer. I use launcher page mainly for some informational widgets and shortcuts

MIUI stock its very good and support a lot of beautiful themes. Pretty widget and Wallpapers but you can put apps icons by alphabetic order.

No way default launcher of mi can beat nova...ecen stock Android launcher is better than mi home launcher...After buying a mi phone the first thing I did was to install Nova launcher.
And for the second choise use Buzz launcher

I use this Lock widget in MIUI launcher on every screen, quite handy if you ask me.

pls share the link of the themes u have applied ?

I liked Nova Launcher but i like simplicity of Evie Launcher. It has double tap lock and supports different icon packs available on playstore. Give it a try. One more thing is its Free and Ad Free. Enjoy.

I like Nova launcher for the fact you can edit truncated app names, and scroll the dock plus other things. The ONE thing MIUI launcher has in its favor is the Quick Function Widget has a toggle that will turn Mobile data on and off directly without going thru the settings. Thats a big plus for me, but you cant edit app names, or scroll the dock Its a real shame that you cant directly toggle mobile data on and off with nova or power toggle, like you can do with Native MIUI launcher
