Does anybody know if the Otterbox Defender/Commuter or Ballistic SG case is compatible with the Sprint Version of Galaxy Nexus?
I called Otterbox earlier today and they weren't sure....
Otterbox Defender works great on mine. Are there any hardware differences between the Sprint and Verizon GNs? (Assuming you're using the stock battery.)
It works fantastically
they sell them at the Sprint store for the gnex
I saw them at the sprint store might want to check them out and buy in amazon(save like 15$)

Keep in mind the belt clip blocks the headphone jack on the GN.

On the bright side the Samsung extended battery kit fits beautifully in the case.

I am dissapointed....
Otterbox is up the ass of AT&T as well as Apple and it really pisses me off. The alternatives like Trident and GumDrop are slowing going to gain ground on them.

That is such a bummer! Ugh! I really need to find a good kickstand case or a landscape dock.
Check out the Case Mate POP! Case. It's got a kickstand. I have one for the AT&T SGS2 and it's great.

Im not all that impressed with otterboxes anyway. I have a defender for my hd2 & after only a couple months the silicone got all stretched out over the buttons. Trident FTW.

Well I will be buying that case to try it out. Right now I use the D3O and i love it, its a tight fight but i dont like having to press the power button so hard...
Has anyone compared the new SGS2 ATT LTE to ours its the same screen size and if the fronts are similar .....maybe we'll get an otterbox...
i think the D3O cases are way better than the Otterbox
Otterbox cases are always bulky and thick, makes the device larger than its
I had a Nexus One before SGS2 and I dropped that thing so many times not a scratch or a dent or anything on that. I know that the SGS2 is plastic vs nexus one which is why I want the best protection possible and adding alittle bulk knowing I can drop it and it will be protected.....

For anyone trying or that has fit the SGSII t-989 in a Infuse 4g Otterbox, please upload pics before and after. Would hate to order this and have it fit awkwardly.

I order an infuse case from ebay. once i get it i will up load pic.
i got a really nice hard case from tmobile store today, its a white, hardshell bodyglove case with a gray rubber strip going across where the "hump" is on the lower end of the device. it fits great, the buttons are easy to push, unlike the d30. i have 2 different d30's and this body glove is my new daily driver... its called the bodyglove diamond shell - white... http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/addons/accessories/default.aspx?categorycode=21#tblId3
Does anyone know if they will be coming out with a waterproof otterbox for this? Also, what is the best case currently in your opinion? And does anyone have a case from verizon? If so can you post pictures or a link to it. Thank you
I've had a seidio case for my nexus one and nexus s in the past. I sent them a email about the GSM Gnex case and they said they're sending it to the department that handles new inquiries.
That case looks identical to the otterbox, so hopefully one of them will come out with a case for the galaxy nexus.

That looks nice!
Really surprised because the otterbox site shows these cases as coming soon. So I was shocked to see that the bell store had these. It was still in the back of the store still and I had to convince the store clerk to sell me them early as the phone doesn't release till tomorrow.

Ive been using the tpu matte black case from diztronic aka tpu cases. I like it but im not confident it provides enough protection. But it looks nice and is unobtrusive. However i ordered a casemate tough case. I wish Samsung would release for this phone the carbon fiber looking case i have on my galaxy s. I really like that case and its durable. I like otterbox but their cases are bulky IMO. Ballistic case is also working on a GNex case as well which should be nice.

Nice find, will have to try it, i still have my 265wt, never thought of using it for the mount.
Did you have to modify the dock at all? How snug is the fit? I have the Otterbox Commuter so I'm not sure if this would fit as well. Thanks.
no modding needed it. really good fit hasn't failed me yet. otter box might fit with the older unit

Is there one available yet i'm sick of the case mate I'm using right now lol
The one for the global S2 (i9100) will work for the AT&T version (i777). They're the exact same phone except for the button arrangement on the front:

Check out the seidio active... in my opinion its better because of the kickstand.

I've had both (Although I had the Commuter for my old LG Optimus One) and I currently have the Seidio Active (Without the kickstand) and the Seidio Active is much much better. The silicone and plastic is much higher quality and it doesn't lose it's shape like most Otterboxes too. The only upside with buying the Otterbox is that is comes with a screen protector (A pretty crappy one anyway) and that's about it. The Seidio case is much better.

By the way does the case get a lot of lint on it and does it get stuck inside pockets and such that's my main concern lol
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
The Seidio case picks up a little bit of lint, a LOT less than the Otterboxes do. Half the time for me it doesn't pick lint up but when it does it's barely noticeable and wipes off really easily. Can't same the same about the Otterbox though, I had a hell of a time with lint problems when I had one for my old phone.

Do yourself a favor and also check out the Trident Kraken(Excellent Video Review Here). It has an awesome kickstand, tons of accessories that can be bought(11 bucks for a windshield mount? DONE!) and you can take it out of the poly-carb box and use just the silicon sleeve when you don't need it. Plus from everything I read online, Trident offers far superior protection than SEIDO or Otterbox. And the rotatable belt clip is way better than a holster, to me anyway. Give it a look, love mine!
Also if you want slightly less protection(and thickness) consider the Trident Aegis.
Quit hatin' on the Commuter!

Of course the Trident Kraken offers superior protection when compared to the Seidio Active and Otterbox Commuter but it also adds a lot more bulk to your phone. (If you're ok with that, then go for the Kraken! It is the most protective case out of the three!).
And I wasn't hating on the Commuter, I was just stating what I had encountered when I had one with my old phone.
I decided to go with the Seidio Active case with the kickstand. It should arrive tomorrow so I'll update you guys on how it is.

Got the Seidio case in the mail today I love it but the only thing is that it doesn't have any opening for the 3 pin thing on the right side of the phone. I don't know if the Otterbox Commuter has an opening for it.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Commuter doesn't have an opening for the pogo pins either. Very few have them open and the only ones I own that have such an opening are some tpu cases I have.

Yeah I don't plan to use them anyways but so far this case is very good but we'll see how it survives a fall which hopefully never happens
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Kraken does not have them either, nor does any high-protection case I have seen.
Would have to say the seidio active is my choice. After i tested it the hard way, due to me being sleep deprived. I was working inside my car engine bay and take off the phone due to getting in the way at times. I just so happened to forget it was in their and then started to drive away to get a drink. I finally realized what happen then went searching for it the case was scratch to heck, but the phone was safe
^ Mother of Buddha :-\
I have what I'm told is a Commuter for sale.. $20 shipped 405-259-2797
I like the little groove on my case from where the kickstand is too makes it feel nice when you hold the phone.
